1 ProgressBook SpecialServices and Database v12.4 ProgressBook SpecialServices v12.4 Release Notes ProgressBook SpecialServices v12.4 provides several new features and resolves some issues to improve the user s experience. This overview helps you understand the recent changes. Logging In to SpecialServices after Session Expires In SpecialServices, when entering information on a form on the Open Tasks Page and the session expires, the user has three login attempts. If the user enters the correct login information within three attempts, the data entered on the form is saved, and the application opens to the task screen where the user was entering information. If the user enters the incorrect login information, under the Login screen, a message states, Invalid Login Attempt. If the user enters the incorrect password within three attempts, the data entered on the form is not saved, and the application redirects the user to the Login screen. However, when editing the EMIS Data Collection Form for Students with Disabilities and the session expires, a message displays stating, Your login has expired. Your unsaved data was lost, and the EMIS Data Collection Form for Students with Disabilities window closes. For more detailed information, see ProgressBook SpecialServices User Guide. Small SpecialServices Logo, Favicon, in the Browser Tab and URL Depending on how a user s technology center has set up SpecialServices, a favicon, small SpecialServices logo, may appear in the browser tab and URL. 7 Web Form Functionality The following sections describe the functionality of Web forms; however, functionality is dependent on the browser you use. Read-Only and Editable Fields on Web Forms On Web forms, the editable fields are distinguishable by a box around the area in which you can type. Read-only fields are shown without a box around them. There is no longer shading on the form to differentiate an editable field from a read-only field. 8 Multiline Text Fields on Web Forms On Web forms, multiline text fields that were only one text line high are now at least three lines to allow viewing of scroll bars across browsers. When you print the page, the printed version adjusts the spacing to remove excess white space. Web Form Multiline text field with more than 3 lines showing scroll bar. 9 Backspace Key and Web Page Functionality In a Web form if you press the Backspace key and are not in an editable field, the screen goes back to the previous Web page, and you will lose all the information you have entered on the form. This is how a Web page functions. If you press the Backspace key and you are not in an editable field the screen goes to the previous Web page, and you lose all your data if you have not saved the form. Pressing the Backspace key in an editable field removes the last character entered in the field. For more detailed information, see ProgressBook SpecialServices User Guide. Software Answers, Inc. 10 Save & Close and Save Form Buttons on Web Forms On Web forms, the Save & Close and Save Form buttons remain at the top of screen even when you scroll to the bottom of the screen. They do not move as you scroll as they previously did with PDF forms. Because the buttons remain stationary, the buttons at the bottom have been removed from the screen. 11 Spell Checking Web Forms Depending on the browser you use, such as Internet Explorer, Firefox or Safari, spell check may be available for Web forms. To see if spell check is available, right click on a word to see the available options for Web forms. 12 Resolved Issues The following issues have been addressed in this release. Reference # Issue Description Macintosh/Safari Users Clicking Save & Close and Save Form Buttons D2976 When Macintosh/Safari users click the Save & Close or Save Form buttons, they see the Timeout Login page display until the page refreshes to the saved page or Open Tasks screen, which is causing confusion. When Macintosh/Safari users click the Save & Close or Save Form buttons, the page refreshes to the saved page or Open Task screen. IEP 12 Statewide and District Wide Testing and Verify EMIS D3101 On the IEP 12 in the CHILD WILL BE TESTED column, when a check box is selected and the form is saved, then the check box is deselected and the form is saved again, and a user clicks Verify EMIS, the EMIS Data Collection Form for Students with Disabilities displays OFF or -1 in the TYPE OF ASSESSMENT (STR/ALT) column. On the IEP in the CHILD WILL BE TESTED column, when a check box is selected and the form is saved, then the check box is deselected and the form is saved again, and a user clicks Verify EMIS, the EMIS Data Collection Form for Students with Disabilities displays blank in the TYPE OF ASSESSMENT (STR/ALT) column. OP-8 Summary of Performance Text S5795 The ending parenthesis was missing in a sentence on the form. The form now reads as follows: (Questions may be read to the student and recorded by the teacher as an accommodation, if necessary.) The following issues were resolved in the v12.3 release but were excluded from the ProgressBook SpecialServices v12.3 Release Notes. Reference # Issue Description WEP and Progress Reports Create from Existing (CFE) D3009 and D2996 When a user creates a new WEP from CFE and changes the dates, the Page Edit screen appears with the correct dates, but the PDF Print View screen displays the old dates. When a user creates a Progress Report from CFE, the Page Edit screen displays the correct grade level, but the PDF Print View screen displays the previous grade level. When a user creates a new WEP or Progress Report from CFE, the dates and grade level appear correctly on the PDF Print View screen. Progress Reports Effective Dates Create from Existing (CFE) D3248 Users who create Progress Reports created from CFE the Effective Dates populated on the form cannot not be deleted and updated with the new Effective Dates. Effective Dates can be deleted and updated on Progress Reports created from CFE. Software Answers, Inc. March
