3 What is Cognition? The Admin for Your Website & Chosen Modules The following document contains instructions for the use of the Cognition admin. Dashboard The first page you see, with key stats and a stock overview This is where you will find all key modules, as well as the used car stock management tool. Your Project or Account Manager will set you up with Cognition logins when needed, in addition to CMS logins. Careers, News & Testimonials Dealer-designed CMS modules to populate website sections Cog Offers A dedicated module for quick and easy offer updates site wide New & Used Vehicles Price, information and feed management functionalities CMS functionality and usage is covered in a separate guide. Valuations Setting margins, franchises and more for CAP Valuations

4 4 Cognition Dashboard Key Website Stats, Info & Module Navigation. Analytics. Stock. Navigation Top Level Stats Stock Overview Your Modules This section gives you a quick at a glance overview of your Google Analytics performance. Not seeing any stats? Ask your Account Manager to add your ID. The graph shows image penetration on your used car stock, whilst the tabs below it expand to show your oldest cars, as well as a summary of your stock by location. Depending on what modules and products you chose when building your website, you will generally be able to reach them via the navigation. Only CMS isn t on this list.

5 5 Used Vehicles Module (List) Details, Feeds & Per-Dealership Stock. Select Dealership Choose the dealership you want to view, or enter a specific reg no.. Car Information View top level info, and click column headers to re-order.. Stock Export Feeds If you send stock to rd party websites, then you can select stock to send by ticking the appropriate column (-), and then clicking the Update Selected button. Your Account Manager will tell you which column refers to which feed. If you automatically send stock (rather than via manual selection) then you won t need to do anything within Cognition. 4. Select Dealership The Ex, Star and Tag columns allow you to send stock to specific website sections. This can be set up bespoke to your needs (i.e. a Star can be a Managers Special) so speak to your Account Manager for the specifics. 5. Download - Download a list of used car stock 5 4

6 6 Used Vehicles Module (Details) Adding or Editing Used Vehicles. Details & Tech Info depending on your individual set up, you may need to populate these tabs in order to add used cars. If you have CAP used car data, or use CarWeb, these may pre-populate.. Specification Click specification items from the different sections to add them to the text box at the top, and use Drag & Drop to rearrange their order. Use the Add Custom Specification button to add items for future use, or the Switch button to type free text into the field.. Images Upload up to 0 5MB images. Drag & Drop images to rearrange. 4. Videos To add a YouTube video, you need to add a very specific link. To find this link, navigate to the Share option on the YouTube page. Select the Embed tab. Copy the URL after the src= text and paste this into the video field. The whole embed code, or any other link, will either break the page or the formatting. 5. Finance & Notes You will only need to use these fields if instructed by your Account Manager. Once everything is updated, click Update to put the changes live. 4 5

7 7 Valuations (CAP-powered) Adjusting Franchises & Marking Values Up Or Down. Chosen Franchises All ticked franchises will return valuations. Untick and click the Update button to prevent the system giving valuations on irrelevant franchises.. Adjust Price Adjust values returned by adding a value in percentage or cash format. Change the format by selecting your preferred format in the drop down field, and then clicking the Update button to save.. Margin Direction The amount you enter to adjust your valuations can be applied above, or below the CAP value. As an example, you may offer above the CAP value for certain, highly desirable franchises, but less than the value for other, more common makes. As always, click Update to save.

8 8 Cog LMS A Convenient Lead Management System. Filter Leads Filter by date, enquiry type and lead status. The Clear Filter button will reset.. Download Download a CSV file of all enquiries for meetings and team reviews. Top Level Details View the key lead information and source on the front page 4. View Lead Click the View link next to each lead to see the full lead, including lead profiling data if you are an Autochart client. On this section you have the ability to assign the lead to the correct member of staff, assign a status to the lead (such as Sold ) and add any individual notes. 4

9 9 Cog Careers Module Details, Feeds & Per-Dealership Stock. View Job Click the job title to view and edit and existing job.. Add New Job Use this button to add a new job to the careers section of your website.. Complete Details Enter text into each of the fields to populate the job details you will see a drop down to select date from and to, and can also apply to a category (i.e. Audi) if needed. Whether or not this is needed will depend on your individual site set up, so speak to your Account Manager. 4. Full Description Enter the full description here and use the edit facilities at the top of the box to change the formatting. If you are pasting from Word, please use the icon to strip out formatting. To edit the HTML, do so in the source code ( ) section. Click save to show the job on the front end of the website within 5 minutes. 4

10 0 Cog News Module News & Blog Updates Featuring News Categories. Title The headline for your news article, this will generally show on the news list page, as well as on the article itself.. Summary A short summary of the article, dependant on design this can show on the list page to encourage people to click through.. Body Text Only visible on the individual article page, this is the main body of the story. As with the Careers module, use the buttons at the top to edit, and paste in using the icon to strip out formatting. To edit the HTML, do so in the source code ( ) section. This is where you would paste the video embed code if you wish to add a video. 4. Images You can upload images using this button. Once uploaded the image will appear at the end of the post in the Body field. Click and drag to move it to the appropriate position. 5. Thumbnails If your design uses thumbnail images on the list page then upload it here. Please make sure you use the specific dimensions as instructed by your Account Manager. 6. Dates Set a From and To date for the article. This can be used to auto-publish an article on the correct date. 7. Categories You can use categories to show news articles on relevant sections of your website i.e. only Audi stories on the Audi brand landing page. Speak to your Account Manager to see how your website is set up. Once complete, click Save to publish on the site within 5 minutes

12 Cog Testimonials Module Share Reviews from Customers, Complete with Star Ratings. Details A short title or highlight from the testimonial, plus the customer s name and location.. Comment The full testimonial quote. We would recommend you don t change the formatting on these too much so they look consistent on the front end of the website. Speak to your Account Manager for more advice.. Images Depending on how your testimonials page is set up, you can have the option to feature an image of the customer with their testimonial. Most dealers, if they have an image at all, prefer to use a thumbnail image on the list page. 4. Thumbnail If your design uses thumbnails then upload an image of the correct dimensions (speak to your Account Manager to find your specific dimensions) using this button. 5. Rating If your testimonials page is set up to display star ratings, enter the number of stars here. Check with your Account Manager for maximum rating i.e. whether it is out of 5, or Categories You can use categories to show specific testimonials on relevant sections of your website i.e. only servicing testimonials on the aftersales landing page. Speak to your Account Manager to see how your website is set up. 4 Once complete, click Save to publish on the site within 5 minutes. 5 6
