1 SlideBoom Frequently Asked Questions SlideBoom is a presentation-sharing website that allows users to share PowerPoint presentations with a general audience or selected individuals. The following instructions will guide you through creating a SlideBoom account, uploading your PowerPoint presentation to SlideBoom, and sharing the presentation with your students on Desire2Learn. 1. How do I create a free SlideBoom account? How do I upload a presentation directly to SlideBoom? How do I download ispring Free? How do I use ispring Free to upload my presentation? How do I share my presentation with students? How do I embed a SlideBoom presentation in D2L?... 8

Enter your information, select the Free version, and click Register. 3. Check your for a confirmation from SlideBoom and follow the instructions there to verify your account. 2. How do I upload a presentation directly to SlideBoom? 1. Sign in to and click Upload. Use the Browse button to locate your PowerPoint file on your computer. 2. Click the down arrow to expand the Options menu and choose PowerPoint Like for a presentation that viewers advance slide by slide or Video Like for a presentation that will play continuously (but can also be controlled by the viewer). 3. Click Upload.

You can add a description, but this is not required. If you wish to embed this presentation in Desire2Learn (or any web page), check the boxes next to Anyone can view my presentation, and Allow embedding this presentation at other sites. 5. Click Submit. 6. Click View presentation to go to the My Presentations screen and view your uploaded presentation.

How do I download ispring Free? ispring Free is software used in conjunction with SlideBoom that allows users to upload their presentations directly to their SlideBoom accounts from within PowerPoint. The following instructions are for Windows-based computer users; Apple users, please refer to the I use Keynote on my Mac. Can I use SlideBoom? question at 1. Go to 2. Click Download ispring Free. 3. Save the file to your desktop. 4. Install ispring Free by double-clicking the ispring Free file you just saved to your desktop and following the installation prompts. 4. How do I use ispring Free to upload my presentation? 1. Open your presentation in PowerPoint. 2. Click the Publish button under the ispring Free toolbar.

Select SlideBoom as your destination; click the Edit Account button and enter your SlideBoom account information; and click Publish. 4. Complete the dialog box with relevant information about your presentation and click Upload.

After uploading your presentation, you will be taken to SlideBoom s website and shown your My Presentations page. Click the title of the presentation you d like to share. 2. You will be taken to a page with sharing options. Select the URL link from the options to the left of the presentation window and copy (Ctrl+V on a PC or +V on a Mac) it to your clipboard. 3. To share this URL through the D2L system, you will need to create a QuickLink. This can be included in the body of an , a D2L News Item, or in a discussion topic post. From within one of the D2L communication tools, select the QuickLink icon from the text edit toolbar. This will allow you to make a link to your URL.

In the URL field under Link Details, paste (CTRL+V) your SlideBoom URL. In the Link Caption field, enter a descriptive title for your presentation. This is what students will click on to access the slideshow. 6. In the lower right corner, click Insert. 7. Click Save. 6. How do I embed a SlideBoom presentation in D2L? 1. Sign in to and click My Account. 2. Click the title of the presentation you want to embed. 3. Click in the box under the word Embed. Copy (Ctrl+V on a PC or +V on a Mac) this code.

Click Content in your course Navbar. 6. Click New Topic. 7. Click Create New File. 8. Choose a Parent Module and enter a Title and File Name for this Topic. 9. Click the Edit HTML Source icon in the lower left corner of the text editor. 10. Paste (Ctrl+V on a PC or +V on a Mac) the embed code into the text field. The code must be pasted between the <body> and </body> tags. Click Update. 11. Click Save. Visit the ispring Frequently Asked Question section if you experience any trouble downloading and/or installing the ispring Free software. Visit the SlideBoom Frequently Asked Question section if you experience any trouble uploading your presentation to your SlideBoom account.
