2.5. Setting up a 880 CIU Prime for use with Attention Scan Purpose Attention Scan is an application to select a tank to have an increased data refresh rate. This bypasses the regular field scan that is performed by a normal operating 880 CIU Prime. The Attention Scan field requests are injected on the CIU Prime through host port 2 in CIU Emulation mode. They interrupt the normal field scan loop, send the request to the field, and wait for the reply which is then passed on back to the attention scan server running on the system connected to the host port 2. For Attention Scan to work, we must switch off this build in cache and force the CIU Prime to get the data directly from the field. In the Prime version B a new entity is introduced to control the operation of the cache. The entity can be set by using Ensite Pro with a new entity99.mdb database Prerequisites Ensite Pro V2.000 A new Entity99.mdb for Ensite Pro 880 CIU Prime version B An RS232 connection to the CIU Prime host port 2 Steps Figure 31 (Re)Setting the CIU 880 GPU Cache mode 1. Copy the Entity99.mdb to the installation folder of Ensite Pro 2. Start Ensite Pro and select the configured database 3. Go to the Show Diagnostics data function 4. Update the diagnostics data and check if entity 563 CIUNewtSoftwareVersion shows B If not, update the CIU Prime first. 5. Select the Read/Write Data function 6. Select entity 3368 HostPortGPUCache with Dataset index FP 2 (FP 1 has no effect since host port 1 cannot operate in CIU Emulation mode and therefore has no cache) 7. Push the Read button, the response value should be 1 because the cache is normally switched on. This is the default behavior equal to pre-b versions. 8. To disable the cache, push the Enter conf. Button. 9. Enter value Push the Write button 11. Push Exit conf. Button. 12. After the CIU Prime has restarted, push the Read button to confirm that entity 3368-FP2 now has value 0. After the cache has been disabled, the attention scan application retrieves its data directly from the field instruments. Attention Scan Installation Guide 23

2.6. Setting up CIU858 emulation and MSU (modem sharing unit) mode with Ensite Pro Attention Scan needs the Host port of the CIU 880 to be configured for CIU 858 (GPU) mode. To configure these settings, the Advanced configuration mode needs to be activated, by checking the Advanced button. The CIU 858 compatible mode can now be set. The CIU 880 Prime logical RTU address, typical ranges from In the CIU 858 compatible mode the last digit of the RTU address is used as an address for the CIU 858 compatible mode, i.e Address. For Example a CIU 880 Prime with RTU address 32 responds to address 2 i.e. the last RTU digit. Figure 32 Ensite Configuration Windows for CIU 880 Prime MSU mode Normally CIU 880 behavior is to send requests not intended for the specific CIU 880 directly to the field bus, without parsing the emulated address. Then, if there is no response from an Instrument in the field, a standard NACK (2@0) is responded. For a multidrop RS485 configuration with multiple CIU 880 s this is not desired. Therefore in a multidrop RS485 multiple CIU 880 configuration, MSU mode selected is required. Attention Scan Installation Guide 24

Note that the MSU mode may be selected for both single and multiple CIU 880 Prime setups, since Attention Scan has its own Time Out management. 3. Configuration The Configuration of Attention Scan can be started through the Windows Start Menu as shown. Click: Configure Attention Scan to start the configuration. Figure 33 Starting Configuration The configuration tool manages the XML configuration file located in: C:\ProgramData\Honeywell Enraf\AttentionScan\AttentionScanConfiguration.xml In Appendix B an example file of the configuration is shown. Attention Scan Installation Guide 25

Please note that the actual location depends on your Windows installation. It is possible that this folder is hidden from view. Refer to the Windows Help function to make this folder visible. Directly pasting the path in the Windows Explorer will open this folder also. The main dialog of the Configuration Application is shown here. Figure 34 Configurator Main Dialog The Configuration application has three main panes: Device Selector, which shows structure of the instruments and CIU s and EGDS s. Test Response Window, which displays the results of the test communication (described later). Configuration Tabs, which display configuration details for each node. The Configuration application has three general buttons used for all TAB s: The Apply button will accept the changes; the OK button will accept the changes and closes the dialog; the Cancel button will discard changes and closes the dialog. Changing Attention Scan device settings is possible only for users with Administrator credentials. Attention Scan Installation Guide 26

3.1. Device Selector The configuration is build like a tree with branches. This is similar to, for example the Windows File Explorer view on folders and files (see the info icon). For example the root node is an item named Attention Scan. The nodes in the tree correspond to the physical devices in the real world. To create a new device or (sub) node, an existing node can be right clicked, a context menu is then opened. Clicking New will ask for a device name, create the new node or device, and select the appropriate Tab. In the same way as just described for the NEW function, the devices or nodes can be edited or deleted, by selecting and right clicking the nodes or devices. Only the EDIT function will allow the user to change values. Since the nodes correspond to the physical world, the tree or structure can only be build according to a fixed template, i.e. the root node can have one or more EGDS nodes; the EGDS nodes can have one or more CIU Prime nodes; and the CIU Prime node can have one or more Instrument nodes. A tree is a set of nodes which are connected by branches to other nodes in a 'tree-like' structure. There is a special node called the root from which all other nodes can be accessed. Other nodes are grouped into sub trees which in turn form other sub trees and so on Creating a new EGDS device An EGDS node is, as indicated earlier, directly connected to the Attention Scan root. Click the root node to select it and right click to open the context menu. Click New to create a new EGDS node. The application will suggest a name for the device, but a custom name is possible also. Figure 35 Device Name Names for EGDS s, CIU s, and Instruments devices, have to be unique and may not be empty. Since the nodes correspond to the physical world, the tree or structure can only be build according to a fixed template, i.e. the root node can have one or more EGDS nodes; the EGDS nodes can have one or more CIU Prime nodes; and the CIU Prime node can have one or more Instrument nodes. Attention Scan Installation Guide 27

An EGDS device is created and can be edited by selecting it and right clicking it. Only in EDIT function the greyed values will become active or enabled and can be edited. Available EGDS Settings: EGDS Name: Used as reference. IP Address: IP address of the machine where the EGDS server application is running. The IP Address can be a numerical value (as indicated) or a symbolic name resolved through a local HOST file or a DNS server. Refer to the Windows Help, or your System Administrator. Latency: This is the maximum time allowed for a response from the field device. If the field device does not respond within this time, a time out error is issued. 5000ms is the default setting and should be appropriate, for most situations (increase if needed for example wireless connections) Figure 36 Edit EGDS Test Button: The test button is used to test the connection to the device prior to using it in the Attention Scan application. By following the same procedure a sub node of an EGDS node, a CIU node can be added. By selecting and right clicking the CIU node and selecting the EDIT function settings, can be changed. Since the nodes correspond to the physical world, the tree or structure can only be build according to a fixed template, i.e. the root node can have one or more EGDS nodes; the EGDS nodes can have one or more CIU Prime nodes; and the CIU Prime node can have one or more Instrument nodes Creating a new CIU device Attention Scan Installation Guide 28

The procedure to create a new CIU device or node is almost identical to that of an EGDS. The only difference is that now the device or node to select is NOT the root node, but the EGDS device or node where the CIU is to be installed. The EGDS device is right clicked, NEW is selected and after entering the requested name, in this example DEMO_CIUPRIME, the device is created. Figure 37 Edit CIU Available CIU Settings: CIU Name: Used as reference. Serial Port: The physical serial port name used to connect to the CIU Prime (COM1.COM32 for example COM3). Which port to use depends on the local situation, it must typically NOT be the port used by Entis Pro. Speed: This is the communication speed used to communicate with the CIU Prime ( k4). The speed typically used is 19k2 baud. Address: This is the logical address of the CIU Prime used to communicate with it in GPU mode (0 9) Which address to use depends the host port 2 RTU configuration. It corresponds with the last digit of the CIU 880 Prime RTU address (30 39). Refer to the CIU 880 Prime Host port configuration MSU mode, reference: 2.6. Test Button: The test button is used to test the connection to the device prior to using it in the Attention Scan application. By following the same procedure a sub node of a CIU node, an Instrument node can be added. By selecting and right clicking the Instrument node and selecting the EDIT function, settings can be changed. Since the nodes correspond to the physical world, the tree or structure can only be build according to a fixed template, i.e. the root node can have one or more EGDS nodes; the EGDS nodes can have one or more CIU Prime nodes; and the CIU Prime node can have one or more Instrument nodes Creating a new Instrument device Attention Scan Installation Guide 29

The procedure to create a new Instrument device or node is almost identical to that of an EGDS and a CIU device. The first difference is that now, the device or node to select is the CIU device or node, where the Instrument is to be installed. The CIU device is right clicked, NEW is selected and after entering the requested name in this example DEMOGAUGE_mm, an Instrument device is created. The second difference is that two TABs are activated Instrument settings and Groups Instrument settings: Instrument Name: Used as reference. Address: The logical address of the instrument ( ). The setting depends on the local situation. Request: The request type used to communicate Instrument. The choice for either BB (1mm accuracy) or BL (0.1 mm accuracy) depends on the type of instrument used. Newer types i.e. 854, 97x SmartRadar support both BB and BL. Older instruments support BB only. Increased accuracy as mentioned with the BL request is only valid in a metric configuration. (conversion: m-m or m-mm) Conversion: The conversion setting is used to display the values correctly, read from left to right. For example: m-fis indicates that values are expected in metric (m) meters (Instrument setting) and translated to Feet Inch 16 th for Display with a FIS engineering unit indication. Figure 38 Edit Instrument Number Format: The number format allows the user to display the values as desired. For example: indicates leading zeroes and 4 digits resolution after decimal separator. Refer to Appendix C for display format codes. Test Button: The test button is used to test the connection to the device prior to using it in the Attention Scan application. Attention Scan Installation Guide 30

Assigning groups to an Instrument device Besides the communication and accuracy settings of the instrument, there are settings available to modify the way the instruments are shown in Attention Scan. These settings are displayed on the Groups TAB. The groups TAB allows the user to assign an Instrument or Tank to a group. The groups are freely configurable and can be based on Location, Activity, Operator and Product. The ALL group, if not removed, is present and will contain all configured instrument. The shown DEMOGAUGE_mm is member of the ALL, Operator1 and Operator2 group and thus will be show if the user selects either the ALL, Operator1 and Operator2 group in the Attention Scan application. By selecting a group in the list box, the instrument is assigned to the group. To create a new group, a name has to be entered and the + sign button has to be clicked to add the group and assign automatically. To remove a subscription or assignment the sign button is used after selecting the group. Group settings: Group Classification and + and - buttons: Used to create (+)/delete (-) group names to which the Instrument is assigned. Assigning instruments to groups enables the user to differentiate in products or operators. The selected instrument is subscribed to: ALL, Operator1, and Operator2. The groups are freely user configurable and can be based on Location, Activity, Operator and Product. Figure 39 Group Settings Changing Attention Scan device settings is possible only for users with Administrator credentials. Attention Scan Installation Guide 31

Font selection The font or typeface selection tab AAaa is used to configure the font or typeface of the level display. By clicking the button on the AAaa tab, the Font selection dialog is opened. Figure 40 Font or Typeface selections Attention Scan Installation Guide 32

3.2. Response Window The response window will show the result of the communication with the selected device when the test button is pressed. It is important to select a device before clicking the test button. Figure 41 Test Response Window Using the Test Button The test button is intended to test the communication path between the Attention Scan application and the configured device and thus testing the (new) settings. If the test button is clicked, the configuration application will try to connect to the device selected and shows the result in the Test Response Pane. Example responses from the various devices: Device OK message FAIL message EGDS :41:43 - EGDS: OK NO_ERROR :41:15 - EGDS: FAIL NETWORKCONNECTION_DENIED_ERROR CIU :29:12 - CIU: 10LOO NO_ERROR :30:30 - CIU: TIMEOUT_ERROR Instrument :49:20 - Instrument: 854 H25 NO_ERROR :49:56 - Instrument: TIMEOUT_ERROR The error codes shown are specific for the device only if the upper parent device is correctly configured. For example a test on a CIU device can result in error code (NETWORKCONNECTION_DENIED_ERROR) for the parent EGDS device if there is a problem with the network connection. Attention Scan Installation Guide 33

3.3. Configuration TAB s Figure 42 Device Parameters example The Configuration Tab s show the configured parameters of the devices or nodes in the Device Selector. The TAB s are automatically selected according to the device clicked in Device Selector. If an EDIT action is chosen by selecting a device in the Device Selector and right clicking it, the parameters are shown and released for EDIT. Figure 43 OK Cancel Apply The OK, Cancel, or Apply buttons are used for all TABS s and applies and saves, discards or applies the settings respectively. The TAB s can also be selected manually. However only parameters of the selected device and its parents can be shown. Attention Scan Installation Guide 34

3.4. Command line Parameters During the installation a shortcut is made to the application in the Windows Start Menu only, since it is part of the Entis Pro suite. It is however possible to create your own shortcut with preconfigured group and Instrument parameters. <Group Name> and <Instrument Name> will have to be provided as parameters to Attention Scan separated by a space and in this order. Attention Scan will load the correct group and instrument and begin scanning Command Line Parameters Example Syntax: AttentionScan.exe TankGroupName (full) TankName Step 1: Create a shortcut to the executable located in: C:\Program Files\Honeywell Enraf\AttentionScan\AttentionScan.exe Refer to the Windows Help system on how to do this. Step 2: Open the properties of the shortcut as shown: Figure 44 Shortcut parameters Attention Scan Installation Guide 35

Step 3: Change/Add the Parameters to suit your needs. In the shown example the ALL group and a Tank DEMOGAUGE_mm is added to the shortcut. This forces the Attention Scan application to start with the DEMOGAUGE_mm tank from the ALL group to be preselected. The text after the application would be: Scan\AttentionScan.exe ALL DEMO_EGDS.DEMO_CIUPRIME.DEMOGAUGE_mm Please Note: Spaces between the application AttentionScan.exe, the group ALL, and the DEMO DEMOGAUGE_mm. The full name of the gauge or instrument including EGDS name and CIU name. The spaces are used to distinguish between parameters, and thus if you use spaces in the tank name, there is a possibility of incorrect interpretation. To prevent this use extra quote characters as shown in blue. Names with spaces in them are configured with extra quotes as shown: Scan\AttentionScan.exe ALL My EGDS.My CIUPRIME.My GAUGE_mm Step 4: Apply the settings and close the dialog by clicking the OK Button. Attention Scan Installation Guide 36

3.5. Language Support The default Language setting behavior of the Attention Scan application is to follow the Windows setting. For example a French Windows installation will show Attention Scan in the French language. It is possible to force Attention Scan to display in a different language than that of the Windows installation, by configuring it in the XML file. This should only be done by qualified service personnel The <Culture/> tag in the XML configuration file needs then to be changed into the language reference, as shown For: Language Reference in XML Configuration file French <Culture> fr-fr</culture> English <Culture>en-US</Culture> Dutch <Culture>nl-NL</Culture> German <Culture>de-DE</Culture> These are the languages supported, selecting another culture reference, will default to en-us The Help file is independent of the language setting and will remain in the English language Attention Scan Installation Guide 37

4. Uninstalling Attention Scan Step 1: Open the Control Panel applet through the Windows Start Menu. By Clicking Programs and Features the Uninstall dialog is opened. Figure 45 Windows Control Panel Removing the Attention Scan is possible only for users with Administrator credentials. Attention Scan Installation Guide 38

Step 2: By right clicking the Entis Pro Attention Scan application entry, the Uninstall process is started. Figure 46 Windows Control Panel Step 3: Confirm the Uninstall of the Attention Scan application from publisher Honeywell Enraf by clicking Yes, and the Uninstall process will continue. Figure 47 Confirmation Attention Scan Installation Guide 39
