3 Preface Preface This installation guide is intended for technicians involved in the software installation of the Enraf Series Ensite Pro Configuration Tool. The technicians must have basic technical skills and knowledge of the English language. For setup, operation and trouble shooting of the Ensite Pro Configuration Tool, please refer to the related Instruction Manual, listed in Appendix A, Related documents. Safety and prevention of damage "Notes" have been used throughout this manual to bring special matters to the immediate attention of the reader. 5 Introduction Introduction Entis Pro CIU Plus The configuration of the new tank inventory system consists of modular parts: Entis Pro CIU Plus CIU Prime field instrumentation This system displays calculated data from the CIU Plus. It is a Windows NT based program, displaying data in windows, boxes, tables, graphs, etc. This unit calculates volume and mass. It requests input data from the CIU Prime and calculates all other data. It presents data to higher layered systems like Entis Pro, SCADA, DCS, ENSITE, etc. CIU Prime This unit is an interface between the field instrumentation (e.g. 854 ATG, 873 SmartRadar, etc.) and inventory systems (CIU Plus, PLC, ENSITE, etc.). Field instrumentation The instruments in the field collect data such as level, temperature, density and/or pressure. The instruments are based on several principles: mechanical, servo, radar, hydrostatic and capacitive or a combination. The instruments measure the data and transmit it upon request of higher layered systems. Ensite Pro Commissioning Diagnostics Documentation Ensite Pro is a configuration tool for commissioning, diagnostics and documentation of the series 880 CIU Prime / Plus. Some information will be asked to fill in, needed to program the CIU Prime / Plus. Ensite Pro automatically puts the input on the right (default) positions. The build in diagnostic data views, reads and writes data direct from and to the CIU Prime / Plus. The whole configuration can be printed to have a hard back-up. 6 Hardware requirements Hardware requirements Minimum system requirements - Processor: Pentium II 350 MHZ - Hard disk: 4.1 Gbyte - Internal memory: 64 Mbyte - Video memory: n.a. - CD-ROM drive: any-speed - Comm. port(s): 1 free serial port - Parallel port(s): 1, for printing - Mouse: serial or bus (with serial, make sure to have 1 serial port free to communicate) - Display: VGA or higher (resolution supported by Windows) - Operating system: Windows 95 or higher, Windows NT 3.51 or higher Cable requirements - Distances # 15 metres (50 feet): A simple null modem cable can be used to link the CIU Prime / Plus to the configuration tool. - Distances > 15 metres (50 feet): Line drivers or modems must be used to link the CIU Prime / Plus to the configuration tool, or if both devices are connected to different mains supplies or outlets. The cabling between the line drivers or modems and the configuration tool depends on the used type of line drivers or modems. Installation guide Ensite Pro Configuration Tool Page 6

7 Software installation Software installation - press Start - select Settings - select Control Panel - double-click on Add/Remove Programs - press Install and follow instructions on screen: - insert the product s first installation floppy disk or CD-ROM, and then click Next - browse on the CD-ROM for Setup.exe - press Finish Installation guide Ensite Pro Configuration Tool Page 7

8 Software installation The following window pops up: Start setup Press the Ok -button to confirm and to start the actual setup. Press the Exit Setup -button to abort setup and go back to Windows. When the Ok -button is pressed, the following window pops up: Begin installation Press this button to install the Ensite Pro software to the specified destination directory (default = C:\Program Files\Ensite Pro\). 10 Software installation Press the Exit Setup -button to abort setup and go back to Windows. Finish setup After the software has been installed successfully, the setup routine displays the following message: - press Ok Installation guide Ensite Pro Configuration Tool Page 10

Software removal The following window pops up: Confirm removal Press the Yes -button to confirm and completely remove Ensite Pro and all of its components. Press the No -button to abort.
