5 Preface This document gives a brief description how to operate Honeywell Enraf s commission tool Engauge 2.4. Safety and prevention of damage Always adhere to the instructions in this manual. 7 1. Introduction Engauge 2.4 is a Windows based Software Package intended for commissioning and servicing Honeywell Enraf Gauges like 854 Servo gauges 97x Radar gauges and 990 FlexConn gauges. In order to communicate with the gauge, the PC which is running Engauge must be connected to the gauge trough a Honeywell Enraf field connector (interface unit) like a 858 CIU, 880 CIU Prime or a 780 SmartLink. Each field connector can connect 10 to 50 gauges to at least 1 Host system. Refer to the appropriate user manuals for information how to connect the field connector to the gauge and to a Host system like Engauge running on a PC. Start If Engauge is installed with a valid license (see Installation guide for details), it can be started by Start All Programs Enraf Configuration Engauge 2.4 The Engauge Main Screen is build of 2 parts, the left pane is for exploring all the connected instruments in a Tree structure (Site Explorer). The right pane is used for reading and setting the properties of the all the elements in the (site) tree. If Engauge is started for the first time both panes are empty. Main Menu Left Pane (Site Explorer) Right Pane First step is creating the inventory of all connected instruments. This inventory is called a site. To create a site use the Main menu File New Site The Site Control window opens: Page 6 Engauge Quick Start Guide

9 Click NEW and a name for the new site Click OK Now the Global Settings Window opens Fig.6 Site Name Fig.7 Global settings Select all the dimensions you want to use for this site and click OK when finished. Click Yes in the next window if you are sure about the entered global settings (you cannot change them later). Now the site will be created on your system hard disk and shown in the Site Explorer. If wanted you can enter more information about the site on the properties tab. Click Apply to save this extra info. The next step is letting Engauge scan for connected instruments. 10 3 Site Scan If a site is created and the physical connections according to fig 1. and/or fig. 2 are made, Engauge can automatically scan the field for connected instruments and field connectors (interfaces). Duplicate gauge or interface addresses on one communication line are not allowed. If you are not sure the addresses are unique (typically for new instruments) just connect one, scan the field, use Engauge to change the address, connect the next one, scan the field and so on. There are 3 kinds of site-scans: GPU Site Scan: Searches for GPU instruments with a BPM connection like 854 Servo gauges, 87x and 97x Radar gauges, 990 FlexConn radar gauges (with HCI-BPM) and field-connectors with RS232 host connections like SmartLink, CIU 858, and 880 CIU Prime. Note: A 880 CIU Prime will only be found if HP2 with CIU858 emulation is used. HART Site Scan: Searches for 990 Gauges with connected with a HCI-HAO board trough a HART Modem. OneWireless Site Scan: Searches for 990 Gauges connected with a HCI-1WL board trough a Honeywell Multinode. GPU Site Scan A Site Scan can be started by a Right Click on the Site name Icon in the Site Explorer and select Site Scan The Site Scan window opens Click Scan to start the Site Scan All the PC s com ports, field connectors and gauges are displayed in the Site Scan Window when they are detected by Engauge. The scan can take about 1 to 15 minutes depending on how many instruments are found. After the Scan is finished the found instruments are displayed in the Site Explorer. Close the Site Scan window by the white cross. Page 8 Engauge Quick Start Guide

11 HART Site Scan 1.Create a Com Port for the HART Modem: Note: you can skip this step if Engauge has already detected the PC s Com Ports (in a GPU Site scan). Right Click on the Site name Icon in the Site Explorer and select Add Device COM The Com Port window opens Select the Com Port in the Name/Port field and Click OK (leave all other settings unharmed) 2. Add a HART Modem to the Com Port by a Right Click on the Com Port Icon in the Site Explorer and select Add Field Connector HART Modem After a name is entered the HART Modem icon will be added to the Site tree 3. Start the HART Site Scan by a Right Click on the HART Modem Icon in the Site Explorer and select Start HART Site scan A window to limit the address range is displayed. If you don t know the address of the HART instrument, do not change the settings. Note: Engauge does not (yet) support HART Secondary Master behavior. Engauge can only be used as HART Primary Master. 12 Click OK to start the HART Site Scan. At the bottom right the blue Scanning text is indicating the scan is running.. A full scan takes about 1 minute. After the Scan is finished all the detected HART devices are displayed in the Site Explorer Tree Note: Engauge ignores any connected non Honeywell Enraf HART devices. OneWireless Site Scan 1. Add an UDP (LAN) port for the Multinode/Gateway by a right click on the Site name Icon in the Site Explorer and select Add Device UDP The Ethernet Port window opens: Enter the Multinode / Gateway IP Address in the Gateway IP Address field and click OK an Ethernet port icon will be added to the site tree. 2. Start The OneWireless Site Scan by a Right Click on the Ethernet (UDP) port Icon in the Site Explorer and select Start OneWireless Site scan A window to limit the address range is displayed. If you don t know the address of the 990 HCI-1WL, do not change the settings. Page 10 Engauge Quick Start Guide

13 Click OK to start the OneWireless Site Scan. At the bottom right the blue Scanning text is indicating the scan is running.. A full scan takes about 5 minutes. After the Scan is finished all the detected 990 HCI-1WL devices are displayed in the Site Explorer Tree 4. Gauge Commissioning Commissioning a GPU Gauge Before a GPU gauge like a 854 Servo gauges, 87x and 97x Radar gauges can be commissioned they have to be verified first e.g. Engauge checks if the gauge is online. Click on a GPU Gauge in the Site Explorer tree, Select the Gauge Properties tab in the right pane and click on Verify after a moment the is verified marking turns to green if the gauge is online. Once verified the gauge can be commissioned Click on the Gauge in the Site Explorer tree, select Commisioning Item Settings in the right pane the commissioning items are grouped on various tabs To change for example the High level alarm setting of the gauge, Select the Level tab. 14 Type the new value for the High Level Alarm setting in the High Alarm Level [HA] field, Click on Send to send the new setting to the gauge. If al changed settings are send to the gauge click Activate to put the gauge back online (EX command is send to the gauge). Use the Read button to Read all the item settings from the gauge. Note: Some items are not available for users with a Basic license. Commissioning a FlexConn Gauge (990) For a FlexConn gauge the commissioning items are not on the gauge level but on the FlexConn board level e.g. each FlexConn board has his own set of items (Entities). First step to identify which FlexConn boards are present in the Gauge. Right Click a 990 FlexConn gauge Icon in the Site Explorer and select Scan FlexConn Boards If the scan is competed (app. 15sec) the detected FlexConn board are displayed in the Site Explorer tree. To Commission a FlexConn board click on the board in the Site Explorer Tree. Each function of the board has a separate tab in the right pane. To change for example the Level High High Alarm, First select the TII-XR board (on which the Product Level function resides). Then select the Product Level Tab in the right pane. Type the new value for the High High Product Level Alarm setting in the High high alarm field, Click on Send to send the new setting to the gauge Use the Read button to Read all the entity values from the board.
