1 RESOLVED s DOCUMENT Resolved Customer Problem Reports ( s) CAMWorks 2016 SP2.1 * Please refer to What s New PDF document for details regarding enhancements in CAMWorks CW System 2. CW API When a customized TechDB having several tools is used in CAMWorks 2016 SP2, then a delay is seen while opening any part or assembly. The API (SetStartPositionAPI) for changing the hole feature start position, depth and work piece stock offset should work in assembly mode as well. 3. CW CW System Setup Sheet An error of "Solidworks database is missing" is shown when CAMWorks utilities is loaded with CAMWorks Solids 2016 SP3. On systems with Windows 10 as operating system, the variable of 'Partpath' for XML setup sheet is incorrectly populated. 5. CW TechDB In TechDB, the post processor selection field on general tab of Mill-Turn machine is missing. 6. CW TechDB In Tech DB 2016, the title of the Mill-Turn machine dialog box is incorrect. 1 P a g e

2 RESOLVED s DOCUMENT CAMWorks 2016 SP2 * Please refer to What s New PDF document for details regarding enhancements in CAMWorks CW UI 2. CW Simulator 3. CW Simulator 4. CW License 5. CW API 6. CW System 7. CW Wire EDM The OK, Cancel and Help buttons are not working in Tool Select Filter dialog box. The behavior of the mouse controls in CAMWorks Virtual Machine should be same like in CAMWorks environment. In CAMWorks Virtual Machine, the angle output using the command G68.2 is incorrect. When user post processes Roughing operations that have been saved with VoluMill toolpaths on a computer without a VoluMill license, then no Warning message is displayed. THE CAMWorks API CWToolcrib::AddNewTool and CWToolcrib::AddNewTool2 add/create tools of incorrect type. The post processed NC files do not get opened with editnc application even though the same has been selected in CAMWorks options. In Wire EDM, the optional machine stop code of M01 is not being output at correct location in the posted output. 8. CW Wire EDM In Wire EDM, the posted code for Sodick post is incorrect. 9. CW API 10. CW TechDB 11. CW UI 12. CW Post 13. CW Operation Provide a methodology to access Configuration name from API "ICWCOnfiguration". Update the TechDB field 'Summary of Tool Selection' such that the actual tool description is displayed. If the user resizes the Tool Select Filter dialog box, then the display becomes corrupted and the user will not be able to add tools to the Tool Crib. In Mill-Turn mode, the Direct Approach is selected for the Contour operation on face does not rapid to Z clearance before feeding. If user selects Assembly Tool Crib in Machine node, then while trying to add tools to the Tool Crib, the Filters for Diameter or End Radius work. 2 P a g e

3 RESOLVED s DOCUMENT 14. CW CW CW Simulation For Circular Pattern Finish toolpath, simulation displays leftover material for one of the features in the pattern when 'Show Difference' command is used. However, the Step Through command and G-code display correct results. 15. CW UI 16. CW Operation 17. CW Toolpath 18. CW TechDB 19. CW Operation 20. CW Setup Sheet 21. CW System 22. CW Translation 23. CW Toolpath The Feed rate behavior in F/S tab of Contour Mill operation is incorrect when user toggles the Defined by option from Operation to Library or Tool to Library and vice-versa. For Multiaxis Mill operation, when the Leadin Feedrate value is edited in the F/S tab, it reverts back to the original value when user switches to another tab of the Operation Parameters dialog box. For the specific part, a circular move is not generated in Contour mill operation for one of the Hole features in the Hole group feature. In Tool crib, if user defines a Station number of more than 5 digits, then TechDB accepts that value but if user wishes to change that number, then TechDB does not allow that and displays an error message. Customer has customized their TechDB Hole Mapping table to be able to select an appropriate thread definition to a specific hole diameter for imported solid bodies. This was working correctly in CAMWorks 2015 but not in CAMWorks In XML-based Setup Sheets, description given in Mill Part Setup and Turn Part Setup Properties needs to be made available in the XML data file. When CAMWorks 2016 SP1 is used in conjunction with SOLWORKS 2016 SP1, and a multisurface feature is interactively inserted for a specific part, CAMWorks incorrectly displays a Full/Light Rebuild message. CAMWorks crashes if user selects the Full or Light Rebuild option. In German language version of CAMWorks, on the Leadin/Leadout Tab for all Turning operations, the text string label for Leadin Angle and Leadin Amount have got interchanged. Similarly, the text string for Leadout Angle and Leadout Amount too has got interchanged. For the specific mill part, toolpath fails to generate for an Clearance operation with pattern set to Adaptive when an Avoid is defined. Toolpath generates correctly when a 'Contain ' is defined. 3 P a g e

CW Toolpath 35. CW TechDB Provide the ability to users to drag and drop a Countersink thru hole features from one setup to another when the Setups are on opposite to each other. When user imports TechDB customized in CAMWorks 2015 version into CAMWorks 2016 version, then invalid tool cutting parameters (F/S) are observed for non-default Stock Material groups. Thread Mill option for Spring Pass creates erroneous toolpaths when used in conjunction with Taper Angle function. In the German language version of CAMWorks 2016, the text string 'Full Entry Spiral' within the 'VoluMill Settings' dialog box is displayed in English. On posting NC code, values for the post variables OPR_Z_RAP_PLANE and OPR_Z_CLEARANCE are incorrect if Tip offset parameter is used for a User-defined tool. The value for these post parameters must be adjusted with the value of tip offset. For specific Assembly files, when user expands the Configuration item in the CAMWorks Operation tree and selected any configuration, the error message Cannot be found or is Read-Only. Unable to change Configuration." Is displayed. Hole thread mapping for countersink holes is not working in CAMWorks 2016 when used with the parameters of the hole features. For specific Mill part, the Roughing toolpath (generated for the Irregular pocket feature defined from a sketch) leaves material in the center if allowance is set to 0 with stepover of 50%. For the specific turn part, the Turn Rough toolpath gouges the part. For through hole features the Countersink machining depth is truncated to the value of feature depth even though a larger value is defined in TechDB. For the specific part the Contour Mill toolpath cannot be generated correctly. With German OS and German MS Access, the data importing does not work in TechDB. Some of the machines do not get imported. 4 P a g e

CW CW CW Configuration 46. CW Feature 47. CW Setup Sheet For specific Mil part, the Contour Mill toolpath does not machine the pocket feature completely and leaves material in the center of the feature. This behavior is observed when side allowance has a negative value with Stepover of 50%. In Chinese version of CAMWorks, in Contour tab of Contour Mill operation, the translation of the string OFF in Ramp dropdown list is incorrect. Create new post Parameter HAVE_COORDINATE_SYS to find out if user has selected a FCS in the Main setup. Update post variable "OPR_Z_FINISH" to be the Z allowance and bottom finish parameters for milling operations. In Chinese version of CAMWorks, certain portion of the text displayed in the warning message for Rebuild is incorrect. In Chinese version of CAMWorks, in the Tool Crib tab of Machine node, the Chinese translation of the string Tool Crib is incorrect. In XML-based Setup Sheets, the First peck amount and Sub peck amount for Point to Point operations need to be made available in the XML data file. For specific Mill-Turn part, when Extract Machinable Features command is executed using Revolved Section setting in CAMWorks Options, the Face feature is recognized incorrectly. In XML-based Setup Sheets generated for assembly files, the names of the parts and clamps need to be made available in the XML data file. For specific part file, the user is unable to view or edit the CAMWorks Configurations data that was previously created. The error message Cannot be found or is Read-Only. Unable to change Configuration." is displayed. For the specific part, EMF generates an incorrect rectangular slot feature as it considers one of the feature profile segments as a Material Segment at the edge instead of an Air Segment. In XML-based Setup Sheet generated for Mill and Turn Part Setups, the Work Coordinate and Sub Coordinate values need to be provided in the XML data file. 5 P a g e

CW Help In XML data file, SOLWORKS Configuration Specific data from the Evaluated Value column is missing. For the specific Mill part, the Contour Mill toolpath for rest machining with specific Cut diameter and flagged as Override previous doesn t machine the feature consistently. For specific mill part, the thread mill toolpath for Hole Group feature containing multiple passes with Previous allowance goes to a Rapid plane for every pass at the last hole of the Hole Group feature. In XML-based Setup Sheets, certain 3 Axis operation parameters and stock parameters need to be made available in the XML data file. For specific part, the Center Drill and Drill toolpaths gouge the top face of the part because of hole group feature recognition in incorrect setup. For the specific part the rapid links in a Contour mill operation with side passes are incorrect. This used to work satisfactorily in CAMWorks Provide an API in CAMWorks to output post parameters from an assembly machine using C# programming language. For specific Mill part, Contour Mill toolpath cannot be generated for a simple Boss feature unless Tool diameter is reduced. For specific Mill-Turn part., when the Convert to 5 Axis functionality is used for a 3 axis operation and is posted, the B Axis is set to 90 degrees instead of 45 degrees and the X, Y and Z coordinates are incorrect. In German language mode of CAMWorks, for the specific Mill part, the Hand of cut value assigned is not retained for the thread milling operation. For specific mill part with multiaxis mill toolpaths, on assigning different Lead In/ Lead Out settings for the toolpaths, they don t get updated on regeneration. In Wire EDM tutorial document, update the reference of the shortcut key for Chip removal during simulation from Press D to "Press Ctrl+D". 6 P a g e

CW Operation The Final Feedrate option parameter value is not getting applied to the Contour Mill toolpath. The option is found under the Contour tab of the Contour Mill operation within the Settings... option. The full form for SFM in the CAMWorks Help file for Tool cutting parameters (new spindle speed addition to 2016) is spelled incorrectly. While selecting Rolling Tap Tool Assembly in TechDB, an error message is encountered, which is not at all required. The Tool summary too doesn t get updated on the basis of the tool assembly selection. In Assembly mode, while trying to generate a Setup Sheet in the same folder of the assembly file, CAMWorks displays an error message. In Chinese version of CAMWorks, certain text strings in the Legacy Rough Mill and Legacy Contour Mill operations are incorrectly translated. For specific Mill-Turn part, assigning advanced Approach and Retract causes undesirable C Axis rotation during post processing. In Mill-Turn mode, while editing a toolpath if the user enters a value for movement of an axis, then the value gets populated with respect to some other axis. The CAMWorks Tool Select Filter functionality does not allow searching/selecting of Assembly Tools. In Wire EDM mode, when the process order for Punch is Rough & Skim/GlueStop, then difference is incorrect. In CAMWorks 2015 and 2016, if the user defines the length of a Thread operation using Constant, then upon doing Generate Operation Plan the same value is not populated in CAMWorks. For specific Mill part, an incomplete Rough Mill toolpath is generated for an Open pocket feature with islands. For Multi Axis operations using Curves, the modification of start and end point of the curve does not impact the resulting toolpath. 7 P a g e

CW Toolpath In XML-based Setup Sheets, information of how the user has assigned the Define tool diameter and Length Offset needs to be made available in the XML data file. In Chinese version of CAMWorks, in the Facing tab of Face Mill operation, the term Machining to has been incorrectly translated in Chinese. For specific part, the Contour Mill toolpath that was generated for the Part Perimeter feature with Toolpath center set to without Compensation gouges the part. In TechDB, the Inch Turn Thread Conditions form has Main Spindle attributes assigned to operations that should actually be Sub-Spindle. For specific Mill part, the Contour Mill toolpath gouges the island in the defined feature. If a VoluMill toolpath is generated using a Machine definition with high feed rate capabilities and later an alternate machine with lower feed rate is selected, then on attempting to edit VoluMill parameters, an error message will be displayed and CAMWorks crashes. In TechDB, if the default values for Multiaxis Mill operations have been modified and user navigates to the Features and Operation form and executes Load Defaults command, then an error message is observed and defaults are not loaded. The CAMWorks Help for VoluMill must be updated to indicate how the Tool entry behavior for closed and open profiles. In Wire EDM mode, if a Stop attribute is assigned in Posting attributes tab for a 2 Axis Contour operation, then it is correctly posted to the NC code. However, if the Stop attribute is removed from the 2 Axis Contour operation and NC code is regenerated, the code for Stop attribute is still retained. If the user tries to regenerate a Contour mill toolpath created for a suppressed pattern feature, then the subsequent warning message cannot be closed and toolpath cannot be regenerated. The stepover movement between two cuts for a Groove Rough toolpath on an Grooves is in a linear motion and not in rapid motion. This happens when axial and radial clearance values are given. 8 P a g e

CW Toolpath 94. CW Wire EDM For Rough Mill operations, when the Entry method is set to Ramp, then the Ramp Entry move does not retain the selected Cut Method (Climb/Conventional). When NC code is generated for specific Wire EDM toolpath, the resultant NC code causes a machine error which is related to the start and end points not aligning. For specific Mill part file, the Contour Mill Operation generated for Irregular Slot Feature with External Corners option set to Rounded gouges the part. For VoluMill toolpath with Pre-drilled entry method, the drill tip length is not being added by default to the through feature. This needs to be done by manually by the user. The spiral entry method for Pre-Drilled entry method is incorrect. The correct method is Plunge. In the Machine tab of Machine node, the dropdown fields for "Simulation machine" and "Simulation controller" are empty. For the specific part CAMWorks fails to recognize the slot feature when recognize Hole feature in set to ON. In Turn module, when rebuild is done after modifying the part then, the associated features are placed after the cut off operation in the same setup. However in Milling, the operations are listed in correct order. During simulation of Turn operation, CAMWorks crashes during simulation of Thread Machining. This is observed only when a solid part is declared as stock. Simulation works correctly with STL files. For specific Mill part, when simulation is done on the toolpath for the patterned feature, then the simulation happens in reverse for the third instance. For multiaxis operation, the tilt lines selected in the Tilt axis tab of the Operation Parameters dialog should be highlighted in the graphics area. For specific part, toolpaths cannot be generated for Bore Rough and Bore Finish operations when holder orientation is "Left down". In Wire EDM mode, for the specific part, when you move the last operation to the top of the Operation tree, the associated toolpath changes. 9 P a g e

CW CW CW CW CW Operation Simulation In Mill-Turn mode, when Turn Setups and Mill Setups are selected and post processed, then only the toolpaths of Turn Setups are post processed and not that of Mill Part Setups. User needs the steps to be followed in order to select and highlight the Faces of Multi Surface Feature using CAMWorks API. For specific part, for the turn finish operation with layered option, the tool does not go to the defined retract value after each cut. API to create Multi Surface Feature as an Avoid Feature in CAMWorks If Save Operation Plan command is executed for a multisurface feature for which an Clearance operation was defined (with Adaptive pattern and Opt Stepover value), then it does not save the Stepover value correctly. In CAMWorks Options, the default for Apply to: parameter must be set to 'All Possible'. In General tab of CAMWorks Options, if the Show node description option is enabled, the description for the tree items are not shown if the Show node command in the CAMWorks NC Manager context menu is disabled. In the default TechDB, some of the Operation Parameters for Thread Mill operation are incorrect. In Mill-Turn mode, for Multi Point thread mill operations, multiple settings the NC tab are incorrect. The Rapid Plane G98 and clearance Plane G99 must be inactive and Polar/Cylindrical Interpolation checkbox must be active when Rotary Axis mode is set to Free. The Combine Operation command does not work properly in Wire EDM mode. Toolpaths do not get generated for all selected features. In XML-based Setup Sheets, the Tool Parameter 'Shoulder Length' needs to be provided in the XML data file. In Mill-Turn module, the Estimate time for a toolpath machining all the instances in a pattern is same as machining a single instance. For specific part with patterned feature, the Thread Mill toolpath simulation does not match the Step through toolpath simulation. The tool moves in reverse direction w.r.t. the toolpath. 10 P a g e

CW Assembly 117. CW TechDB UI In Wire EDM mode, the CAMWorks tooltip display does not properly convert the parametric values when switching the part units between Inch & Metric units. There is no post parameter that specifies number of thread passes. Create a new post parameter QUERY_NUM_THREAD_PASSES for this purpose. In XML-based Setup Sheets, custom SOLWORKS property names need to be provided in XML data file. For specific part with Contour Mill toolpath generated for patterned feature, when Simulation command is run, the simulation is correct during first instance but gets reversed by 180 degrees during the second instance. While interactively inserting a new operation, if a new feature is created for the current operation using the command available in the Insert Operation dialog box, then this newly added feature must be automatically selected as the feature for which operation is to be inserted in the Insert Operation dialog box. The user-defined Mill and Turn tools in TechDB have incorrect file location viz. CAMWorks2001 for metric and CAMWorks2005 for inch. The folder names needs to be updated and made consistent and folder location must point to the correct folder. For the specific Mill part, the Leadin point for Contour Mill operation generated for Part Perimeter-Open Pocket feature cannot be moved to a different point, but it can be moved if the feature type is Boss. To maintain consistency the command icon in the Manage Stock dialog box for using a SOLWORKS part as stock should be identical in both Part mode and Assembly mode. In Assembly mode, if Setups and features are interactively inserted from Operation tree, then CAMWorks doesn t allow interactive insertion of operations for the features. In TechDB UI, provide an option to insert thread mill operation for counterbore holes. The option is currently available only in CAMWorks UI. 11 P a g e

CW TechDB 128. CW TechDB When user tries to save a specific part file for which operations and toolpaths have been generated for large complex surfaces, CAMWorks crashes. The Clearance operation with Pattern type set to VoluMill doesn t consider the negative value for Allowance. The Z Level Operation generated from TechDB doesn t retain the value of the check box for combination cycle. The check box is set to false even though the value is set to true in TechDB. When user does Save Operation Plan, then the same value is not saved into TechDB. For specific part, the simulation of Contour Mill toolpath with amp set to Angle or Cut amount is incorrect. However, the step through simulation is correct. In Mill mode with IPS units, the max feedrate that a user can assign to a Sub Spindle operation is inches (which is approx. 1000mm). The text displayed in the pop-up warning message when user tries to assign a higher value than maximum feedrate must be updated for IPS units. In XML-based Setup Sheets, a provision to add custom images as required by user must be made. For specific part, when user edits the inscribed circle value for the Diamond Insert tool in the Tool tab of the operation, CAMWorks/ SOLWORKS crashes. When Contour Mill toolpath is generated for a Circular patterned hole feature containing two holes and its ramp option is enabled with ramp value equaling the cut amount/angle, then the toolpath is generated correctly for both the holes. However, the simulation for the second hole is not correct. The Wire EDM post command of EDM_GetTaperAngle() always outputs zero value for the Taper Angle. In TechDB, the default value of Z Offset for Constant Step over operation appears as a multiple of 1000 in the Operation Parameters dialog box. In Mill Tool Crib form of default TechDB, the Tool of the selected tool is not recollected by TechDB when the Tools Database form is reopened. When this form is reopened, TechDB highlights the first tool in the form rather than the tool that the user selected to the Tool Crib. 12 P a g e

13 RESOLVED s DOCUMENT 129. CW Beta-42 (User : 3119) Feature For specific part file, in the Contour Mill toolpath the bottom finish parameter are not generated. The toolpath is generated for a Tapered Pocket feature with islands. 13 P a g e

CW Post 8. CW Translation 9. CW Operation 10. CW Translation 11. CW Operation The Post command "QUERY_MILL_TLP_Z_EXTENTS" for Gun Drilling operation is not correct. For legacy part files, when Gun drilling option is implemented for drill operations, the posted code contains wrong moves. In XML Setup sheet, Coolant type has been misspelled DefineCoolentFrom. This should be rectified to DefineCoolantFrom. After the tool automatically assigned by CAMWorks to an operation is changed by the user, if the feature associated with that operation is copied using Copy Feature functionality and operations are generated for the copied feature, then CAMWorks adds duplicate tools to the Tool Crib. For Multiaxis Mill operations, if the Method assigned in the Pattern tab is changed from Milling to Drilling and then reverted to Milling, then the order of tabs within the Operation Parameters dialog box changes. In Multi axis operation parameters the parameters of arc leadin are not selectable. The same can be set in TechDB only. For specific assembly file, in the NC code generated for Drill toolpath of a pattern feature, the parameter IS_PATTERN_FEATURE is set to FALSE. In Chinese language version of CAMWorks, in the Advance tab of Contour Mill operation, the text string in Chinese for Upto & Past in the dropdown list is incorrect. Currently, when inserting any operation, if operation does not exist, then the Use TechDB Defaults default option is displayed; if the operation exists, then Copy from Operation default option is displayed. CAMWorks must be enhanced such that if user selects the Use TechDB defaults option for an existing operation, then this same option (instead of Copy from Operation must be displayed as default option when inserting a new operation. In Chinese language version of CAMWorks, in the NC tab of Contour Mill operation, the text string in Chinese for OFF option is incorrect. If CAMWorks 2015 SP1.1 is installed on a fresh machine, then the Covert to 5 Axis option fails to generate toolpath. The issue is rectified only if a previous version of CAMWorks P a g e

When editing an operation, if user wishes to preview the toolpath, the Operation Parameters dialog box collapses. The F5 button must be supported to preview the toolpath without collapsing the Operation Parameters dialog box. In Chinese language version of CAMWorks, in the Warning message prompting for Rebuild, the Chinese text strings for Full and Light are incorrect. In the CAMWorks Feature tree and Operation tree, the Chinese text string for Sub (Sub-spindle) to is incorrect. The Create Setup button must be made available all the time within the New Feature dialog box. Currently, this button is not shown if there are pre-existing setups. For Contour Mill toolpath generated for an Open Pocket with island with Ramp Method set as Angle, the corresponding NC code or CL file generated does not generate correct Cutter compensation code. For specific turn part with four OD groves, the Bore Rough toolpath overcuts the part as defined allowance values are not taken into consideration. For specific assembly part, when Avoid command is defined for a Z Level operation or Clearance operation, then CAMWorks crashes. The Spiral ramping method needs to be the default setting in Entry/Retract tab of the 3 Axis Mill operations when the Pattern type is changed to Adaptive. In Turn mode, the machining time calculated seems to be inaccurate, particularly when using the Constant Surface Speed (CSS) and Feed Per Revolution (FPR) parameters. If non-admin user logs on to the computer with different accounts, then user needs to import the license file in order to launch CAMWorks 2015 or This issue was not observed in previous versions of CAMWorks. In the customized TechDB, a user-defined Turn Thread strategy was inserted and then removed. User then reinserted it back by adding the necessary Features and Operations. However, the Thread Conditions library does not list the strategy after reinsertion. Add methods on ICWTool interface to get/set feed, speed and coolant. 15 P a g e

CW Toolpat h For Rough Groove operations, if user assigns a User-defined Tool Block instead of Automatic and regenerates the toolpath, the user-selected Tool Block is not updated. This use is observed only for Front Turret. When creating/ editing a 2.5 Axis feature, the RMB context menu for the Selected Entities list box must provide an option Deselect All for deselecting all selected entities. Currently there is no context menu for this list box. For specific part, when Save Operation Plan command is executed for Center Drill operation, the user-defined machining depth is not retained. If multiple non-connected segments are selected to interactively define an Open Profile feature and if the cut direction is reversed in the Feature Profiles tab, then the updated cut direction is not retained for the operations and toolpaths generated for the Open Profile feature. For Contour Mill Toolpaths with Ramp Angle defined, the number of helical moves must remain the same when the Toolpath Center is changed from With Compensation to Without Compensation. For the specific Mill part with multiple pockets, the Simplify Features option does not work as expected. For the specific mill part, chamfers are missing on the irregular features that were recognized using Extract Machinable features command. For specific mill part machined on a multiaxis machine, selecting the "Check accessibility for through features" option fails to create features in one direction. For multiaxis toolpath with flowline curves, the tilt axis is guided by Tilt through line and the line tilt strategy is All line weighed by distance. If the 3D sketch defining the tilt line is modified and the toolpath is rebuilt, the tool axis tilt doesn t get updated. In Part mode, if the Calculate safe CNC comp toolpath is active or inactive, CAMWorks immediately warns the user when the option impacts the toolpaths and recalculates automatically. However, this warning message is not observed in assembly mode. API to retrieve the User Defined Clearance value defined for multi axis operations. CW Wire EDM When CAMWorks 2015 SP1 is used with customized TechDB, then for the specific part, when the Extract Machineable Feature and Generate Operation Plan commands are executed, CAMWorks crashes. On HP machines, it takes more than 11 minutes to load a specific saved part. Time taken for toolpath computation is also more. In TechDB, the default Operation Parameter "Opt. Stepover%" for Clearance is missing. SQL to SQL import from older to new version of CAMWorks takes a huge amount of time. In earlier versions, this process was pretty quick. For corner slot features, the provision to select/deselect multiple segments to define air segments using Shift and Control buttons must be provided. In XML based Setup Sheets generated using CAMWorks, SOLWORKS Configuration Specific information must be made available in the Setup sheet. When manually assigning a tool to a hole operation, the user cannot assign any User Defined Tool from the TechDB because the user defined tool is not present as an option in the dropdown list of the Tool Select Filter dialog box. The ability to calculate the machining depth of a Countersink operation using the Countersink feature diameter does not work. Even though the feature parameters indicate a countersink diameter, this value is not being applied to the TechDB process to calculate the tool machining depth. For the specific Mill part, the Engrave toolpath generated gouges the part. CAMWorks allows for the creation of a Dovetail tool with an angle greater that 90 degrees, which is incorrect. An error message must ideally be displayed is user attempts to assign an angle greater than 90 degrees. The option to Arc fit a Contour Mill toolpath is available in Mill mode. The same function must also be made available in Wire EDM toolpaths. 17 P a g e

A message should be displayed indicating the operations which have been regenerated. In Wire EDM mode, under Cutting Conditions settings, the wire diameter can be assigned only from a dropdown list of specific diameters. A generic solution must be provided wherein user will be able input/add a desired wire diameter value. In CAMWorks 2015 SP0, it takes a lot of time to open the Operation Parameters dialog box for the Contour Mill operation generated for an interactively defined Open Profile Feature when the mouse pointer is placed over the SOLWORKS Feature Manager Design Tree. For 3 Axis and 5 Axis operations, the Fixed/ Free option (which exists for 2.5 Axis operations) must be made available. This will enable the user to output X, C, Z moves instead of X, Y and Z moves when desired. An option must be provided in EDM Post system to post a file with Line Feed only and no Carriage Return. In Assembly mode, while defining fixtures in Part Setup, the functionality allowing selection of subassemblies as fixtures must be provided. The size of the TechDB tool crib form is too small. Using the scroll bar within the form is inconvenient. The form must either be enlarged or the option to resize the form must be provided. The functionality to find out the vacant station number in the tool crib must be provided so that on executing Generate Operation Plan command, any newly added tools in the operation gets added to vacant stations available in the beginning of the Tool crib. When the tree view is split so that there are two trees displayed and the GoTo command is used, the tree item found is always shown in one of the tree views, which may not be the tree view that GoTo was selected from. This needs to be rectified. 18 P a g e

In Japanese version of CAMWorks, within the 2.5 Axis Feature Wizard, the Japanese text string for Through is incorrect. In the Help documentation for Advanced tab of 3 Axis operation, details given for the Enabled option of Holder Avoidance needs to be updated to indicate conditions for collision avoidance. In the CAMWorks Help documentation for VoluMill with Entry Method set to Pre-drill Holes, the note indicating size relation between drill diameter and tool diameter needs to be added. When tool paths of Z Level operations are converted using 'Conver to Five Axis' then, the rapid moves are converted into feed moves. The user cannot define a 3D Curve feature in CAMWorks The feature is projected on a plane and is converted into a 2D feature. The EDM Cutting Conditions for Sodick machine are not consistent across all the available model types. In Origin tab of Mill Part Setup when we switch the origin between sketches then the newly set origin as per the sketch is not saved when the user closes the dialog box using OK button. The help description of for fixed B Axis turning is not present. The geometry of the User Defined Mill tool is incorrectly shown in CAMWorks Virtual Machine Simulator. 20 P a g e

Add more description detail for the Rotary Axis - Reverse Direction option in the Help file. For the specific part in the Contour Mill operation if the user selects 'Stay down' option for link between the passes on the Leadin tab, then CAMWorks crashes. For the specific part in the Mill Part Setup on the Origin tab when the origin is defined using a user defined vertex, then the user will not be able to apply any offsets. This was working fine in CAMWorks When the customized TechDB is imported into CAMWorks 2015 SP1.2, then some of the parameters are not imported. For the specific part in the Turn Rough operation the estimated time shown when spindle mode is set to RPM and SFM is wrong. In Chinese version of CAMWorks TechDB, in the UI for inserting a tool, user defines the Holder Edge as Side or End. The Chinese text for End needs to be corrected. For the specific part when Extract Machinable Features is done, then CAMWorks crashes. For the specific part on a Rough Mill operation with entry option set to 'Entry Drill' CAMWorks generates two entry drill operations with different drill diameters. When the user regenerates the toolpath the entry drill operations become satisfactory. 21 P a g e

For a Rough Mill operation with pattern type set to 'Spiral in" the toolpath near an island makes the movement in "Conventional" way even though the cut method is set as "Climb". Add API for reversing the direction of interactively added Mill Part Setups. In the specific assembly whenever the user does Edit Definition on any operation, CAMWorks crashes. In Chinese version of CAMWorks, in the dialog box for interactively inserting a Turn feature, the text for Sub Spindle and Main Spindle in the Spindle dropdown list needs to be corrected. The spindle attributes of feature conditions and matching operation conditions are different in default TechDB. This results in the operations being populated on wrong setups. For the ' Clearance' operation the check box value set for use entry holes option is not retained when the Operation Parameters dialog box is closed and reopened. For the specific part the Z Level toolpath is not machining the defined feature completely. In the default TechDB of CAMWorks 2016 the parameter of cutting direction tilt option for Multiaxis Mill operations is different in Inch and Metric units. 22 P a g e

In Mill mode if a through feature has fillets on the top face, then the same is not recognized when Extract Machinable Features is done. If the feature is of the blind type, then the fillet at the top face is recognized. For the specific part the toolpath for turn rough operation gets deleted and results into incorrect WIP when variable allowances are used. 2D sketches should be allowed to be used for 5-Axis drilling. In TechDB, for the hole feature with no. 35, the lower range for selecting the tool is to be modified to zero. Strategy is to be renamed to Drill only. In CAMWorks 2016, the newly added functionality of Pre-drilled holes for VoluMill pattern is available for 2.5 Axis Rough as well as in 3 Axis Clearance operations. But the CAMWorks Help documentation states that it is available only for 2.5 Axis operations. For the specific part, the multiaxis drilling toolpath is not generated on executing the Generate Toolpath command. In the default TechDB, for the Contour Mill operations the retract type is set to "Retract Hole". The default value should be "Z Rapid". Wrong setup is highlighted in the select features dialog box which is invoked from insert feature dialog. When inserting Contour Mill operation, the Rest Machining parameters are activated even if the Method is set to None in the Operation Parameters dialog box for Contour Mill operation. They get deactivated only after changing the method. Provide functionality to enable using part faces for defining Open Profile features similar to how faces can be used to define pockets and slots. In the Insert Operation dialog box, the selected feature gets deselected when user changes the type of operation. For example: From Roughing to Contouring. For specific part, when user interactively inserts a pocket feature by picking valid edges to define its profile, an error message which states that some of the profiles selected are invalid is displayed. When defining an open profile feature, the user has the ability to select multiple edges. But the user defined 'Tool side' is not retained when the feature wizard is closed after defining the features. For the specific mill part with pocket feature containing a filleted island, on autodetecting the island during interactive feature insertion, the inner loop of fillet is considered instead of the outer loop resulting in wrong feature. The thread mill cycle time calculation for Countersunk hole pattern considers only the seed instance and thus the estimated time will be wrong. In CAMWorks 2015 SP1.1, it is not possible to create a User-defined Boring bar with an STL File in the TechDB. Chuck, part and stock orientations are incorrectly imported into CAMWorks Virtual Machine when the Axis of the part is not parallel to the X Axis of SOLWORKS. In Mill-Turn, when the turn setup origin is set to 'Automatic' then, the origin of the mill part setup is incorrect. On Mill-Turn machines, the helical moves of a Rough Mill toolpath are incorrectly post process when the Rotary Axis mode is set to Free. In Chinese version of CAMWorks, in the F/S tab of Turn Operation Parameters dialog box, the translation for mm/min reads as cm/min.
