Please do not replicate this operation manual or any part of it without any prior written approval from Suzuken. The content of this manual is subject to changes without any prior notice. The content of this operation manual is written to meet the user s requirements. However, if there is any mistake, error, omission in the contents, please feel free to contact us. Please note that we do not take any responsibility for the result of using the device despite the above mentioned. Please make a backup copy of the Importance data, data from the program and Lifecorder EX, downloaded data from Lifecorder PLUS in order to prevent data loss due to any unexpected trouble. Please do not install the software on a computer that is being used at a reception counter, or for accounting purposes or which is being used for keeping electronic cartel purposes. This applied to any computer that is pre-installed with Windows 2000/XP/Vista OS. This is no guarantee that software can run on a computer using upgraded OS. To the User of the Lifecorder EX/PLUS This software is the data communication-management software for Lifecorder PLUS and Lifecorder EX. For the users of Lifecorder: Please install the Lifecorder communication program (Lifecorder communication software, or Lifecorder communication software USB) separately. Please refer to the respective manual for the operation method. Install the Software Before Installation -Please refer to the operating condition to check the system requirement before the installation. -Please close all applications before the installation. -Please do not connect the USB cable to the computer at this moment 1

6 Install PAAS Lifestyle Coach 1) Switch on the the computer. 2) Please insert the PAAS Lifestyle Coach CD into the CD ROM drive.the installation wizard will appear on the screen after a short while. Note: In case the installation wizard does not appear on the screen automatically, please click on the CD ROM drive under [My computer]. Please double click on [Setup.exe] to activate the installation wizard. Caution: Windows Vista may show [User Account Control] dialogue depending on the setting conditions. If it appears, please click on [Continue] button. Then, installation display will appear. 3) The initial installation screen will appear. 4) Please click on the [Next] button. 2

7 5) Please read the License Agreement carefully and click on the [Yes] button if you agree, or click on the [No] button if you disagree. If you disagree, the installation will be cancelled. 6) Please enter the Product Key (CD Key), and click on the [Next] button. 7) Please specify the destination folder where you want to install the program and click on the [Next] button. Please click on the [Browse] button if you want to select a different destination folder. 8) The following Setup status window will appear during the installation. 3

8 9) The following InstallShield Wizard Complete window will appear. Click on the [Finish] button to complete the installation. 10) A shortcut PAAS Lifestyle Coach icon will be added to your desktop. The installation of PAAS Lifestyle Coach program is completed. It will proceed to install the driver software. If you have been using the PAAS Lifestyle already installed, the installation will end here. Please remove the CD from the computer and keep it carefully. Caution: Windows Vista may show the window below after completing installation. If it appears, please select [Install this driver software anyway]. 4

9 Install the Driver Software 1) Please connect the smaller connector of the USB cable to the main unit of the Lifecorder PLUS and the bigger connector to the USB port of the computer. 2) The searching driver window will appear on the screen. The Searching Driver window will not appear, if the driver has already been installed. 3) Please select [Yes, now and every time connect a device] and click on the [Next] button. 4) Please select [Install the software automatically (recommended)] and click on the next [Button] to proceed. 5

10 5) The following window will appear when installing the driver. 6) The following window will appear when the installation is completed. Please click on the [Finish] button to end the installation. 6

11 Uninstall the Software Uninstall PAAS Lifestyle Coach 1) Please insert the CD of PAAS Lifestyle Coach into the CD ROM drive. The window to uninstall the file will appear on the screen automatically. Click on the [OK] button to proceed. 2) The following window will appear when uninstalling the software. 3) The following window will appear when the uninstallation has been completed. Please click on the [Finish] button to end this function. 7

12 Quick Operation Manual To Start PAAS Lifestyle Coach Double click on the [PAAS Lifestyle Coach] icon on the desktop of your computer. Note: If the [PAAS Lifestyle Coach] icon does not appear on the desktop of your computer, please start PAAS Lifestyle Coach by clicking on [Start] [All Programs] [kenz] [PAAS Lifestyle Coach]. From Data Download to Printout Instructor Login 1) Top menu will appear. Please double click on the [Login] button to start the PAAS Lifestyle Coach program. IMPORTANT: Please login as [kenz] for administartion name without using any password for the first time. Then, register new coach and new user. 8

13 2) After you logged in, please connect the USB cable to the Lifecorder and the computer, and click on the [Download] button. If the setting is preset to [Download] - [Auto], the data will be downloaded automatically once the Lifecorder is connected to the computer. 3) A [New CPU] window will appear, if the Lifecorder is connected to the computer for the first time. The software recognizes the user based on the CPU number of the Lifecorder. Please click on [Select From User List] if you want to download data of an existing users. Please click on [User Registration] if you want to download data as a new user. Please click on [Cancel] if you want to cancel downloading data. 4) The following window will appear when clicking [User Registration] in the previous window. Please enter the user information and click on the [Registration] button to register. 9

14 Please note: 1) Login ID, first name and last name are required. 2) The value of Target Activity Cal, Target Step, Target Activity Min, Food Intake, and Moderate Intensity Range will be reflected on the report and graph. 3) Once the data has been downloaded from the Lifecorder, the value of Target Activity Cal, Target Step, Target Activity Min will be renewed. However, if the data is being downloaded from Lifecorder EX, the value of Target Step and Target Activity Min will not be renewed. 4) If an unregistered group name is entered, a new group will be created 5) If [Select from User List] is selected, following window will appear. Please double click on the icon of the user to download the data. 6) The following window will appear when downloading data. 7) The following window will appear if the download was successful. Please click on the [OK] button. 10

15 8) Once the download is successful, the window of [Job Menu] will appear. Please select the icon to display the [View Reports] window. button to display the graph, or click on the 9) Please press the button to print out the graph. 17 User Login 1) Top menu will appear. Please connect the USB cable to the Lifecorder and the computer, and click on the [Download] button. If the setting is preset to [Download] - [Auto], the data will be downloaded automatically once the Lifecorder is connected to the computer. 2) If the Lifecorder is connected to the computer for the first time, a [New Lifecorder Connected] window will appear. The software recognizes the user based on the CPU number of the Lifecorder. Please click on the OK button after entering the Login ID and password of the user. An error message will appear if you enter the Login ID and password of the Educator. In this case data cannot be downloaded. *Please click on the [Cancel] button if you want to cancel downloading data. 3) The following window will appear when downloading data. 4) The following window will appear if the download was successful. Please click on the [OK] button. 13

18 5) Once the download was successful, the window [Job Menu] will appear. Please select the button to display the graph, or click on the icon to display the [View Reports] window. 6) Please press the button to print out the graph. Please click on the [OK] button after setting the printer. 7) To print out the report, select the button, or click on the icon to display the [Summary Report] window. Please click on the [Print] button after setting the items for printing. 14

19 In Detail Top Menu The following window will appear once you double-clicked on the your desktop. icon on (1) [Login] button: The login window will appear once you clicked on the [Login] button. Please refer to the [Login] section for further detail. (2) [Download] button: By clicking on the [Download] button, the recorded data in the Lifecorder will be downloaded to the computer. Please refer to the [Download] section for further detail. (3) [End] button: To end PAAS Lifestyle Coach s programs, please click on the [End] button. User Category Coach functions and individual users have different login levels due to privacy and personal information protection. The coach ID allows the specific functions such as new unser registration, adding new group, register new coach, inputting coach coments for the summery report to print-out and savng a report, import and export an individual database. Also,a coach can review all user s performsnce in the performasnce list. However, a coach can have all functions a user have including own data download of the Lifeocrder and graph view. For detail of the coach functions, please proceed to [Educator Info] under the window of [Coach Menu]. 15

Login 1) Please go to the [Top] window as shown. 2) By clicking on the [Login] button, the following window will appear. Please enter the Login ID and password, and then click on the Login button. To cancel the login, please click on the Cancel button. 18

23 Menu Bar For the function of each menu, please refer to the item in the menu bar. [Edit] - [New Group] is to register a new group. - [New User] is to register a new user. - [Edit Group] is to edit the information of a registered group. - [Edit User] is to edit the information of a registered user. - [Delete Group] is to delete the information of a registered group and user data. - [Delete User] is to delete the information of a registered user. [Display] - [Alphabet (Ascending)] is to display the user icon in the user list according to the name in ascending order. - [Alphabet (Descending)] is to display the user icon in the user list according to the name in descending order. - [User Reg. (Ascending)] is to display the user icon in the user list according to the registration in ascending order. - [User Reg. (Descending)] is to display the user icon in the user list according to the registration in descending order. - [Search User] is to display the user using an icon. - [User List] is to display all the users in a list for searching a user. Please note: [Name order] is listed in alphabetical order. When a number is used, the order of the number will be shown according to the order of 0, 1, 2, etc. In case of numerical order, please use the same style for all numbers, e.g 001, 002, 003, or 1, 2, 3, etc. 19

24 [Job] - [Download] is to transmit the saved data from the Lifecorder to the computer manually. - [View Reports] is to display the graph. - [Print Reports] When logging in as an Educator, it will move to the window of Print reports once [Summary Report] or [Comparison Report] is selected. When logging in as a user, it will print out the summary report. - [Manual Entry] is to move to the window to select [Activity entry] or [Edit exercise]. - [Weight Loss Plan] is to simulate the diet based on the data downloaded from the Lifecorder. - [Physical Activity Ranking] is to print out the ranking report. - [Summary Report Comment Entry] is to insert comment in the summary report. - [Target Entry] is to set the target value and transmit to the Lifecorder. - [Export Data] is to create a CSV file for data export. - [Import Data] is to import data from the CSV file. [Go To] - [Home] is to return to the previous window. - [User List] is to return to the window of User list. - [Coach Menu] is to return to the window of Coach menu. - [Back] is to return to the main menu. [Help] - [Help] Jet user search for help topics on PAAS Lifestyle Coach. - [Version] displays the version number of PAAS Lifestyle Coach. [End] - [End] is to end the program of PAAS Lifestyle Coach. 20

25 Tool Bar The following icons are displayed under the tool bar. [Back]:1.To return to the window of [Coach Menu] from the [User List] window. 2.To return to the window of [User List] from the window [Job Menu] or 3.to return to the window [Job Menu] from the window [View Reports], [Print Reports] or [Manual Entry] [New Group] is to register a new group. (This icon does not appear when you are logged in as a user) [New User] is to register a new user. (This icon does not appear when logged in as a user) [Edit Group] [Edit User] When it is under the window of [User List], select a group to edit the group, or select a user to edit the user. When it is under the window of [View Reports], [Print Reports] or [Manual Entry], user information can be edited. [Download]: To transmit the data saved in the Lifecorer to the computer manually. [View Reports]: To display the graph. [Print Reports]: When logged in as an Educator, you can select [Print Summary Report] or [Print Comparison Report] for printing. When logged in as a user, it will print out the summary report. 21

26 [Manual Entry]: [Exercise] or [Data Editor] can be selected. [Weight Loss Plan]: To simulate the diet based on the data downloaded from the Lifecorder. [Physical Activity Ranking]: To print out the ranking report. [Top]: To return to the Top Menu. Coach Menu The following Coach menu will appear when logged in as an Educator under the Top menu. The following five menu icons will appear. [Lifecorder Setup]: To transmit personal data to the Lifecorder. [Educator Info]: To register, edit or delete an educator s information. [Exercise Info]: To register, edit or delete an activity under Activity entry. [PAAS Setup]: To set up the condition for PAAS Lifecorder Coach. [User List]: To display the list of registered users. 22

27 Educator s Infomation 1) Please go to the [Coach Menu] window as shown below. 2) By clicking on, the following window will appear, and a list of registered educators will be displayed 23

28 New coach registration 1) By clicking on the [New Coach Registration] button as shown on page 22, the window will appear after entering the coach information, please click on the [Save] button to register the data. Please note: First name and last name must be entered. 2) After clicking on the [Save] button, the following window will appear. *Please click on the [Print] button to print out the Login ID and password, or click on the [Close] button if you do not wish to print. 3) Once the ID and password window is closed, it will return to the [Coach Management] window. To edit coach information 24

29 1) By selecting a coach from the window [Coach Management], the selected coach will be shown in dark colour. And by clicking on the [Edit] button, the above window will appear. Please click on the [Save] button after editing the information. Please note: First and Last name must be entered. 2) After clicking on the [Save] button, the below window will appear. *Please click on the [Print] button to print out the Login ID and password, or click on the [Close] button if you do not wish to print. 3) Once the ID and password window is closed, it will return to the window [Coach Management]. To delete coach infomation By selecting a coach from the window [Coach Management], the selected coach will be shown in dark colour. By clicking on the [Delete] button, the selected coach will be deleted. 25

30 Lifecorder Setup 1) Please go to the [Coach Menu] window as shown below. 2) Connect the Lifecorder in order to set it up. Then click on [Lifecorder Setup] icon and the below window which displays a list of user will appear. *To set up the Lifecorder, which had been registered previously, please select the [User List] button. *To register a new user, please select the [User Registration] button. *To cancel the setup for the Lifecorder, please select the [Cancel] button. Once you selected a user name or selected to register a new user, the below window will appear. By clicking on the [See the current setup] button, the below information in the Lifecorder will appear. Please enter the setup information and click the [Send] button to set up the Lifecorder. 26

31 For Lifecorder PLUS For Lifecorer EX Personal information To set up the personal information of the Lifecorder user. 1) [Unit of Measurement]: When selecting inch/lbs When selecting cm/kg 27

32 2) [Height]: The setting range is from 0 0 to 6 6 in feet/inch or from 0 to 200 cm in metric system. 3) [Weight]: The setting range is from 0 to 440 lbs or from 0 to 200 kg. (Please only enter an even number when putting in weight in pounds) 4) [Age]: The setting range is from 0 to 100 years for the Lifecorder PLUS and from 0 to 99 years for the Lifecorder EX. 5) [Gender]: Please select male or female. 6) [Target Activity Cal]: The setting range is from 0 to 1000 Cal. 7) [Target Steps] (For Lifecorder PLUS only) : The setting range is from 2000 to steps. 8) [Target Activity Min.]: The setting range is from 10 to 200 Min. 9) [Stride] (For Lifecorder PLUS only): The setting range is from 1 0 to 6 0 or from 30 to 182 cm. When selecting Inch/lbs When selecting cm/kg 10) [Activity Intensity] (For Lifecorder PLUS only): Please specify the upper and lower limit. 11) [Display] (For Lifecorder PLUS only): Please select any of the items to be displayed by Lifecorder PLUS from the following. -Physical Activity Intensity Graph -Step -Activity Min. -Total Expenditure -Activity Cals -Distance -Clock Optional information 1) [Clock]: Please select automatic or manual. If [Auto] is selected, the time will be synchronized with the computer time. If [Manual] is selected, please set the date and the time. 2) [Memory]: Please select Loop or Lock. Please select [Lock] if you wish to limit the period of data recording, and then set the recording period. If [Loop] is selected, the recording period is 60 days for Lifecorder PLUS and 200 days for Lifecorder EX. When the recording days exceed the limit, the oldest data (one day data) will be erased with the most recent data. 28

33 3) [Recordng Period] Please set the recording period if [Lock] is selected for the [Memory]. The maximum memory period is 60 days for Lifecorder PLUS and 200 days for Lifecorder EX. 4) [Key Lock] Please select [Yes] or [No]. If [Yes] is selected, the input function using the keys of Lifecorder will be locked. 5) [LCD Display During key Lock] If [Yes] is selected for key lock, please select the items from the following to be displayed on the screen during the key lock period. [For Lifecorder EX] [For Lifecoredr PLUS] Clock Clock Total Cal Total Cal Activity Cal Activity Cal Step Step None None Distance Activity Time 6) [Measurement Stand-by] Please select [Yes] [No] [Start Day Time]. If [Yes] is selected, it will enter the Hold mode. Please press any button on the Lifecorder to start the measurement. If [Start Day Time] is selected, it will enter the Hold mode. The recording will start according to the setting of [Start Day Time]. 7) [Start Day Time] If [Start Day Time] is selected under the setting of [Measurement Stand-by], please specify the day and time to start the recording. Please note: (1) The initial values on the screen are the default values of the Lifecorder. Please click on the [See the current setup] button, to view the current information of the Lifecorder. (2) After setting up the Lifecorder, you will not be able to download the previous data saved in the Lifecorder Download data after setup Once the Lifecorder has been set up and the data is downloaded for the first time under the setting of [Download] = [Auto] or [Manual], a screen will appear to confirm the user who downloaded the data. 1) When downloading data from the Top Menu 29

35 Exercise Information 1) Please go to the [Coach Menu] window as shown below. 2) By clicking on the button, the below window will appear and display a list of activities. To add a new activity 1) By clicking on the [Add New Activity] button, the below window will appear. 2) After entering the activity information, please click on the [Save] button to register the new activity.it will return to the window showing [Activity list]. To edit the activity By selecting the activity from the [Activity list], the line of the selected activity will be shown in dark colour. By clicking on the [Edit] button, the below window will apear. 31

36 Please enter the activity information and click on the [Save] button to save. It will return to the window showing [Activity list]. To delete the activity By selecting the activity from the [Activity list], the line of the selected activity will be shown in dark colour. By clicking on the [Delete] button, the selected activity will be deleted. Please note: The current activities that appear on the window of Activity entry can not be deleted. To change the order of activities shown on the window In the activity combo box of the [Activity entry] window, the activities are displayed in the order as shown on the Exercise Information. By selecting the activity from the window [Activity list], the line of the selected activity will be shown in dark colour. Click on the [Up] or [Down] button to shift the selected activity upward or downward. 32

37 PAAS Setup Please go to the [Coach Menu] window as shown below. By clicking on the button, the PAAS setup dialogue window will appear. Auto setup Under this window, the function of [Download], [Data Save] and [Print] can be setup. Please note: It is necessary to start setting the [Automatic Download] during the initial start up for PAAS Lifestyle Coach. (1) [Download]: Please select [Auto] or [Manual] to download the data from the Lifecorder. Please note: When the setup is preset to [Download] [Auto], the data will be downloaded automatically once the Lifecorder is connected to the computer, even if the [Download] button is not clicked. 33

38 (2) [Data Save]: Please select the method of saving data when the setup is preset to [Download] - [Auto]. If [Auto] is selected, the user confirmation dialogue window will not appear when downloading data from the Lifecorder under the window of Top Menu, Coach Menu, or User List. If [Manual] is selected, the user confirmation dialogue window will appear when downloading data from the Lifecorder under the window of Top Menu, Coach Menu, or User List. If [No] is selected, no data will be saved in the PAAS Lifestyle Coach program. The setup for print will be set to [Auto] automatically. (3) [Print]: When the setup is preset to [Download] [Auto], please select the summary report to be printed out automatically or manually. If [Auto] is selected, the latest data will be printed out in the summary report automatically after the data has been downloaded from the Lifecorder. If [No] is selected, no report will be printed out after downloading the data from the Lifecorder. View reports setup Under report setup, the contents of graph display and report output can be selected or set. (1) [Auto Exclusion from Analysis Period]: When display graph and print out report, please specify the data from the recorded data you wish to exclude from analysis. This is a function to exclude a day which is not used for the calculation of the average, etc. when there is insufficient data or no data on that particular day. (2) [Default Data Range]: When displaying the graph and printing out report, please specify the period to display. (3) [Graph Scale]: To set the scale for the graph when displaying the graph. [Auto] is to adjust the scale of the graph automatically when the graph value exceeds the limit of the standard value. [Fix] is to use the scale preset under [Maximum Value for Chart]. 34

39 (4) [Maximum Value for Chart]: To set the maximum value for the scale of graph when displaying the graph.the maximum values can be preset for Step, Activity calorie, Total calorie, Activity time, Distance (km), Distance (miles). User setup Under [User Setup], the initial value displayed in the window of [User Registration] can be set. (1) [Food Intake]: Please enter the approximate value of the daily food intake to be shown as the initial value under [User Registration]. Please consult a specialist regarding the calories from food intake. This value is used as the standard of diet balance for the Weight Management Program. (2) [Moderate Intensity Range]: Please set the range of Moderate Intensity to be shown as the initial value under [User Registration]. (3) [Target]: Please set the value of Target Activity and Target Step per day and Target Activity Time (min) to be shown as the initial value under [User Registration]. For the user who is currently under any kind of medication, please consult your doctor regarding the Target values. The group which the last user selected will be displayed next to the [Owner] group. The rest of the groups will be displayed according to the order of registration. By clicking on the icon of the tool bar, a new group can be registered. (c) Group information window: To display the name and comment of the selected group. (d) User icon frame: To display the registered user by using a user icon. A Nickname will be displayed under the User icon. If a Nickname is not registered, the First Name/Middle/Last name will be displayed. Please note: (1) The initial display shows all registered users in ascending name order. (2) The search function matches the first part of (FirstName, Middle Name, Last Name), then following the using AND search method. If no new group is registered, all the users will be put under the [Owner] group. 2) By clicking on the icon or [New Group] on the pull-down menu [Edit], the following window will appear. After entering the group information, click on the [Registration] button to register a new group. You will return to the window [User List], and a group name will be displayed under the group icon. By selecting an icon from [Select Icon], the selected icon will be displayed in the group list. Please note: A group name must be enter. Download Data from Lifecorder The user will be recognized based upon the CPU number of the Lifecorder. Top Menu -Download data If the setting is preset to [Download] - [Auto], the data will be downloaded automatically once the Lifecorder is connected to the computer. If the setting is preset to [Download] - [Manual], the data will be downloaded from the Lifecorderonce the [Download] button of the menu isselected. 46

Job Menu When logged in as a coach, the Job menu will appear by double-clicking on the user icon on the [User List] window. When logged in as a user, and logged in from the [Top Menu], the Job Menu will appear. 1) User information window The selected user name and user group name, ID number (only if registered), user s comment will be displayed here. When logged in as a [Coach], the icon will be displayed, and by clicking on the icon, it will return to the User List. 2) Job Menu window The following six menu icons will be displayed. [Download] To download the data from the Lifecorder to the computer manually. [View Reports] To display a graph. [Print Reports] When logged in as a [Coach], [Print Summary Report] or [Print Comparison Report] can be selected. When logged in as a [User], the summary report will be printed out. 54

When logged in as a [Coach], the icon will be displayed, and by clicking on the icon, it will return to the User List. 2) By selecting one of the nine tabs, the selected report will be displayed. -Daily Steps & Activity -Daily Energy Expenditure -Weekly Avg. Please note: In case the wording of the printed report is deformed, please update the printer driver of your computer to the latest version. Print Reports When logged in as a coach, the window [Print Reports] will appear by selecting the button from the window [Job Menu] or by clicking on the icon,. 1) User Information window The user s comment of the selected user name and user group name, Nickname (only if registered) will be displayed here. 56

Summary Report Format -The following graphs will be included in the summary report. Please refer to the item of each graph for the detail of the graph. BMI: It displays the BMI calculated from the weight and height of the last day of the selected period. Daily Step Counts: It displays the daily walking steps. Daily Activity Minutes: It displays the daily activity in minutes. Frequency of Continued Activity(Lasting for 10minutes or above) : It displays the time in which the activity is sustained for more than 10 minutes among the activity that the intensity is within the upper and lower limit of the daily exercise intensity. Weekly Average Step Counts: It displays the weekly average walking steps. Weekly Average Activity Minutes: It displays the weekly average activity in minutes. Total Calorie Expenditure:It displays the daily total calorie expenditure. Activity Level:It displays a pie graph for the activity time of each exercise intensity, the variation graph for the day with the maximum activity, the variation graph for 58

63 the day with an average activity (the day which the data is closest to the average activity of the period) including the data input manually. Print Comparison Report By selecting the button on the [Print Reports] window, the dialogue of the comparison report will appear. Setup for the comparison report 1) Previous Data Print period: Please setup the date range for printing. Target: It will display the value setup in the Lifecorder on the last day of the period. If there is no data on the last day, the target value setup under personal information will be displayed. Please insert the target step to be displayed on the report. Target Activity: It will display the value setup in the Lifecorder on the last day of the period. If there is no data on the last day, the target value setup under personal information will be displayed. Please insert the target activity to be displayed on the report. 2) Latest Data Print period: Please setup the date of the range for printing. Target: It will display the value setup in the Lifecorder on the last day of the period. If there is no data on the last day, the target value setup under personal information will be displayed. Please insert the target step to be displayed on the report. Target Activity: It will display the value setup in the Lifecorder on the last day of the period. If there is no data on the last day, the target value setup under personal information will be displayed. Please input the target activity to be displayed on the report. Save Latest Period: If the records for the current period and the comparison report dialogue is displayed the next time, the range of printing for the current period will be displayed under the previous period. Please note: Even if you alter the value of Target step and Target activity under the Comparison report dialogue, it will be displayed in the comparison report dialogue only. The value of Target step and Target activity in the User information remain unchanged. 59

65 Comparison report format The comparison report consists of the header and the summary information of each period (see image above). 1. Name, 2. Group name, 3. Date of printing will be displayed under the header. In the summary information of each institution, 1.Period, 2.Activity (Target value, Target achievement, Result (Average value of each period)), 3.Steps counts (Target value, Target achievement, Result (Average value of each period)), 4. Activity time (Aggregate of all the average values of each period, Slow walking activity, Fast walking activity, Vigorous activity), 5. Weight of the last day of the period will be displayed. Please note: In the column [Previous comparison] for the Target achievement of Activity and Step, it shows the comparison between the Target achievement (%) for the current and previous period. 61

66 Summary Report Comment Entry This function is only for the coach. Please select [Job] [Summary Report Comment Entry] from the menu to display the following dialogue. -To set up for printing report, please refer to [Print Summary Report] for detail. (However, the [Print] button is not applicable under the dialogue of comment entry). -Please click on the [Preview] button to display the preview window, and enter the comment in the column for comments. Please note: Print button is not applicable under the window of Summary Report Comment Entry. Please click on the preview button to display the preview. -If you want to enter a comment in the comment column by using the comment template, please click on the [Template List] button to display the below Template List dialogue. -By selecting the title of comment template and clicking on the [Apply] button, the comment will be inserted into the colum for comments under the preview window. 62

67 -Please click on the [Print] button to print out. -Please click on the [Save] button if you want to save the image of the summary report. The following window will appear. Please select the folder to save the imgae of the summary report and click on the [Save] button. The image of the summary report will be saved in the specified folder. Please refer to [Print summary report] for details. Edit Comment Template The comment created by using the function of Summary Report Comment Entry can be saved as a comment template. Please click on the [Save Comment] button of the preview window and enter the template name in the window as shown below. Please note: (1) The comment can not be more than 200 words. (2) The comment entered under the preview window will not be saved if you do not click on the [save comment] button. (3) The report in which you entered the comment will not be displayed in the preview window. Please print out or save the image. -The order of the list display for the comment template list can be edited. By clicking on the [Up] [Down] button of the template list, the selected comment name will shift up or down. Once the template list is closed, the display order will be registered and it will be reflected when you view the list next time. 63

68 -A comment can be deleted from the comment template, by clicking on the [Delete] button and selecting the [OK] button on the confirmation dialogue. The comment will be deleted from the template list. Physical Activity Ranking When logged in as an educator By clicking on the menu [Job], the following window will appear: icon or the [Physical Activity Ranking] on the pull-down Change the Ranking 1) Set up the condition of ranking and click on [New Ranking] to view. Group: Please select a group or ALL (all group) under the window of [User List]. Period: Please set up the target period. Age: Please select from NON,10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, Over 70. Gender: Please select from NON, Female, Male. 64

69 2) It displays the ranking based on the setup condition of (1). By clicking on each roll of [AVERAGE per day] or [Accumulate], the ranking will be rearranged according to the selected roll. 3) The average value of the selected group and highest value of the period will be displayed. -Please click on the [Print] button if you want to print the Ranking Report. The ranking for the range displayed on the window will be printed out. -Please click on the [CSV Export] button if you want to save the Ranking Report as a CSV file. The following window will appear. Please select the folder, then click on the [Save] button. The Ranking Report will be saved in the folder. When logged in as a user Under the window of [User List], by clicking on the icon or the [physical Activity Ranking] on the pull-down menu of [Job], the following window will appear. Change the ranking 1) Setup the condition of ranking and click on [New Ranking] to view. Group: Please select a group or ALL (all group) under the window of [User List]. Period: Please set up the target period. Age: Please select from NON,10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, Over 70. Gender: Please select from NON, Male, Female. 65

By clicking on each roll of [AVERAGE per day] or [Accumulate], the ranking will be rearranged according to the selected roll. 3) The average value of the selected group and highest value of the period will be displayed. Please note: When logged in as a different user (not your own name), the ranking under other user s name will not be displayed. -Please click on the [Print] button if you want to print the Ranking Report. The ranking for the range displayed on the window will be printed out. -Please click on the [CSV Export] button if you want to save the Ranking Report as a CSV file. The below window will appear. Please select the folder and click on the [Save] button. The Ranking Report will be saved in the selected folder. Manual Entry Under the window [User List], the [Manual Entry] window will appear by selecting the button or clicking on the icon,. 66

71 1) User Information window The selected user name and user group name, Nickname (only if registered), user s comment will be displayed here. When logged in as a [Coach], the icon will be displayed, and by clicking on the icon, it will return to the User List. 2) Manual Entry menu The following two menu icons will be displayed. [Exercise] Any activity other than the activity recorded by the Lifecorder can be input manually. [Data Editor] The data downloaded from the Lifecorer can be edited. Exercise Entry 1) By selecting the button from the window of [Manual Entry], the dialogue of [Exercise] will appear. 2) Please select the date to input the activity. 3) A list of registered activity will be displayed under the selected date. -To register a new activity 1) By clicking on the [Add New Entry] button, the below window will appear. 67

72 2) After entering the activity information, please click on the [Save] button to register the new activity. It will return to the window [Exercise]. -To edit the Activity By selecting an activity from the window [Exercise], the line of the selected activity will be shown in dark colour. By clicking on the [Edit Data] button, the below window will appear. Please click on the [Save] button after entering the activity information and you will return to the window [Exercise]. -To delete an activity By selecting an activity from the window of [Exercise], the line of the selected activity will be shown in dark colour. By clicking on the [Delete] button, the selected activity will be deleted. Please note: (1) The activity displayed under Type of activity is setup under [Exercise Info]. (2) The unit for Sustainable time is inserted in minutes. (3) METs are calculated as follows: Calorie (kcal) = Standard value[mets] Time Weight (4) The weight, Gender, age used for calculation are the data downloaded from the Lifecorder. When you enter the data on the day with no downloaded data, the data of the last downloaded day will be used. Data Editor When the saved data of the Lifecorder cannot be coordinated, the dialogue [Irregular Data is sorted] will appear on the graph display. If you do not want the dialogue to appear, please correct the order of the saved data by using the function [Data Editor]. After correction, the dialogue [Irregular Data is sorted] will not appear on the graph display. By selecting the button on the window [Manual Entry], the dialogue [Data 68

73 Editor] will appear. A list of data will appear. When logged in as a user Please select Edit or Delete for the saved data. -Edit data The following window will appear once [Edit] is selected. Please select the date you want to edit from the data list. 1) Alter or delete the date Please click on the [Update] button after altering the date. The database (DB) will be updated, once the date has been altered. The original date will be shown in the column of [Raw Date]. Please click on the [Update] button after selecting [Delete date]. The database (DB) will be updated and the date on the [Date] column will be deleted. The original date will be shown on the column [Raw date]. The data where the date has been deleted, will remain in the database (DB). However, the data will not be displayed on the graph and the report. 69

74 2) Alter Weight, Target Activity Cal, Target Step Count Please click on the [Update] button after altering the weight, target activity cal and target step count. 3) Input memo Please click on the [Update] button after entering a memo for the data. -Delete data The below window will appear once the [Delete] button has been selected. 1) From the data list, please select the data that you want to edit, and then click on the data. The data will be shown in red colour, and the check box on the left corner will be checked. Once the data is selected again, it will return to the original stage, and the check box will be unchecked. 2) Once the [Delete] button is clicked on, the data selected in 1) will be deleted. When logged in as a user A memo can be put in for the data. Data cannot be edited or deleted. From the data list, please select the data that you want to edit, and then click on the data. Please click on the [Update] button after entering a memo for the data. 70

75 Target Entry 1) Under the window [Job Menu], connect the Lifecorder that you want to transmit the target value. By clicking on [Target Entry] on the pull-down menu, the dialogue of [Targetr] will appear. When using Lifecorder PLUS When using Lifecorder EX 2) By clicking on the [See the current setup] button, the current setup of the Lifecorder will appear on the screen. After setting the target, please click on the [Send] button to setup the Lifecorder. Please note: (1) If the user connects another Lifecorder other than the Lifecorder which is in use, an error message will appear, and the data cannot be transmitted. (2) Only the target value can be changed here. Weight Loss Plan By selecting the button from the window [Job Menu], or clickng on the icon, the window [Weight Loss Plan] will appear. Diet simulation can be performed here. -Your Body Mass Index It displays the BMI and Standard Body Weight based on the latest height and weight data downloaded from the Lifecorder. Please note: BMI is one of the indexes that measures obesity. BMI is calculated as follows: Body weight in kg (height x height m). From the point of epidemiological research [22], it is the index with the lowest change to catch an illness. BMI is applicable for adults only. It does not apply to growing children. The standard body weight is calculated by using the BMI method. Standard Body Weight (kg) = Height (m) x Height (m) x BMI

It is necessary to backup the database before reinstallation of the software if you want to recover the old database. Please ensure that the cable is properly connected. -Cannot download data from Lifecorder PLUS -Please ensure that the USB cable is connected to the Lifecorder PLUS and the computer. -Please ensure that the battery is correctly installed in the Lifecorder PLUS. -The data recorded in the Lifecorder PLUS is less than 30 minutes. The minimum data for downloading is 30 minutes. -Please use the following procedure to check whether the USB driver has been properly installed in the computer.
