1 Windows 10 post-migration checklist Now that your workstation has migrated to Windows 10, you can use this checklist to get started. 2 Logging in for the first time Previously, you had to press CTRL+ALT+DELETE in order to log in. In Windows 10, you can press any button once you have booted your ICT workstation and then log in using your and related password as normal. If you have been issued a laptop, you will be able to use it outside of AUAS. However, in order to be able to do so, you must first log in once while on the AUAS premises. Wireless Internet AUAS Basic and AUAS Personal laptops connect automatically to the secure AUAS or eduroam networks. When you open Outlook, you will have access to your AUAS mailbox and any group mailboxes to which you previously had access. You do not have to do anything. Settings If you use an AUAS Basic workstation, most settings such as your signature will have migrated. If you use an AUAS Personal workstation, you will need to restore these settings manually. 2

3 Saving files You can access the network drives and your files through File Explorer, which is located in the Start menu and on the taskbar. Go to in order to save files in the cloud. If you use the SURFdrive programme, you can access all of these files directly through a folder on your hard drive. You can also use them offline. 4 Using a port replicator Before you can use the monitor, keyboard and mouse, you must use the port replicator to connect all devices with a single USB cable. The necessary software is installed by default on both AUAS Basic and AUAS Personal workstations. Instructions for adjusting the screen resolution can be found in the A-Z list under ICT-Werkplek > Windows 10 > Handleidingen(ICT Workstation > Windows 10 > Manuals). 4

5 Shutting down or logging out With the Start menu open, click on at the bottom left-hand side to shut down or on to log out. 5

6 Changing default programmes (optional) In Windows 10, you can change the default programmes, such as your Internet browser, using the Settings app. Open the Start menu and click on. Open System and go to Default apps. 6

7 Changing the language of Windows 10 to Dutch (optional) The default language of Windows 10 is English, but you can change it to Dutch if you want. Instructions can be found in the manual in the A-Z list under ICT- Werkplek > Windows 10 > Handleidingen (ICT Workstation > Windows 10 > Manuals). 7

8 Installing applications from the Software Center (optional) If you have user rights for specific software in addition to the default suite of programmes, you can install this software on your AUAS Basic or AUAS Personal workstation from the Software Center. The Software Center can be accessed from the Start menu. To install software from the Software Center, consult the manual in the A-Z list under ICT-Werkplek > Windows 10 > Handleidingen (ICT Workstation > Windows 10 > Manuals). 8

9 Importing Firefox bookmarks (favourites) 1. From the Start menu, open Firefox. 3. Select Show All Bookmarks. 4. Click on Import and Backup. 5. Select Restore > Choose File. 2. On the top right-hand side, click on the Bookmark menu. 9

10 Importing Chrome bookmarks (favourites) 1. From the Start menu, open Chrome. 3. Go to Bookmarks > Bookmark manager. 2. On the top right-hand side, click on the three dots. 4. Click on Organize > Import bookmarks from HTML file. 10

11 Restoring icons to the taskbar 1. Open the desired programme. 2. Right-click on the icon on the taskbar and select Pin to taskbar. 11
