5 Chapter 1.Introduction is a browser-based viewer that includes all the necessary basic features of dicompacs and dicompacs DX-R for viewing images on your mobile device (Android, ipad) as well as on your PC, netbook or Windows client networks. NOTE is currently not suitable for smartphones (iphone, Samsung S series etc.)! Hard- and Software requirements The following requirements are necessary for the use of : Server: Processor: Intel/AMD min. Dual-Core Main memory: min. 2GB (recommended 4GB) Hard disk capacity: min. 160GB (depending on the amount of image data) Operating system: Windows XP Windows 7 Windows Server 2003/2008 OR Technology software: dicompacs or dicompacs DX-R installation Client (tablet, netzwork PC) with one of the following browsers: Microsoft Internet Explorer (version 9 or higher) Mozilla Firefox (version 9 or higher) Google Chrome (version 19 or higher) Safari version 5 or higher Google Chrome for Android browser from version 4.0 Safari for ipad Liability If unauthorised changes have been made to the delivered software and hardware components, the warranty by OR Technology becomes void. 7 Chapter 2.Installation NOTE! Make sure that port is not used by other programmes (e.g. Team Viewer). Port is the default port for installing. If the port should already be used, the setup defines the port as an alternative port for the application. Should this port also be taken, it requires a manual configuration. In this case, please contact our support department. Step by step procedure 1. Start the setup Setup_dicomPACS-MobileView.exe, which is included in the respective installation media (DVD/USB flash drive/download). 2. When some specific security policies of the Windows operating system are in place, you may need to confirm the Security Warning dialogue with Run then confirm the User Account Control by clicking on Yes. 8 In case you have a dicompacs and dicompacs DX-R database the following dialogue opens: Figure 2. Selection of the database You should select the database of which studies you would like to have access through. The access is only possible via one database type. If you have selected the according database and click on Install, then in the following dialogue click on Next. 3. The first dialogue of the installation is shown; here click on install. Figure 3. Installation setup 4. The setup creates a default user during the installation of. The login data for this standard user and the computer name are displayed by an information dialogue. Close this dialogue by a click on OK Installation

9 Figure 4. Login information 5. After the successful installation, confirm the following dialogue with Next. The button will be automatically activated after the click. Figure 5. 10 Figure 6. Closing the installation 7. After finishing the installation, the service O+R dicompacs Mobile View starts automatically in the background. This service realizes the execution of the application. Your browser with the app URL will be called up automatically. Please note down this web address. a) If you have a compatible browser, you should see the following login screen: Figure 7. Login screen with compatible browser Installation

11 b) If you have an incompatible browser, you should see the following screen (In this case you should update your browser to the current version!): Figure 8. Login screen with incompatible browser 2 Installation -11-

12 Chapter 3.Deinstallation If you do not want to use any longer, you can simply uninstall it without deinstalling your entire dicompacs or dicompacs DX-R installation. MS Windows 7 Operating under MS Windows 7, you have to call up the Control panel via the Windows start button in the taskbar and then select the item Programs and Features. In the list of installed software there is the entry OR dicompacs Mobile View. Click on that entry and then on the top command line Uninstall - will be uninstalled automatically. At the end of this process, confirm the dialog with OK. MS Windows XP Using MS Windows XP, go to the Windows start button and call up entry Settings. Then click on Control Panel and afterwards the menu item Software. A new window opens. Here you will find the menu entry OR dicompacs Mobile View and click on it. Now you can click in the lower right corner on Change / Remove to uninstall the programme. Confirm the final dialog box by clicking on OK. OR dicompacs Mobile View has now been successfully removed from your system Deinstallation

13 Chapter 4.Setting up the app on clients 4.1. Requirements The network access to the system, on which was installed, must be guaranteed. The application is installed on a computer, which realises the execution of the app by the service O+R dicompacs Mobile View. To use this application on your mobile device (here shown on an ipad) or on a Windows client computer, proceed as follows Step by step procedure 1. Start your mobile device and open your browser (e.g. Safari). 2. Now enter the URL that you have listed on the first start of the browser after the installation e.g.: server1:18057 or Now open the page. Figure 9. Input of the URL to open 3. After the successful call up, the login screen is od the app is shown. 4 Setting up the app on clients -13-

14 Figure 10. Login screen with compatible browser 4. The shortcut for the app on your home screen of your ipad is created by clicking on the icon on the left beside the URL of your browser. 15 Figure 11. Add to Home Screen 6. Then a dialogue appears in which you can give the shortcut to be created an individual name. (The default name MobileView for the shortcut will be set automatically.) After that you only have to click on the Add button in the upper right corner of the dialogue. Figure 12. 16 7. Now there is a shortcut for the app directly on your home screen from where you can instantly start the app. Figure 13. Created shortcut You have successfully created a link for the -App and can call it up and work with it anytime. 8. By clicking on the shortcut you return to the login screen. Figure 14. Login screen with compatible browser 9. You also have the opportunity to create a shortcut with a direct login to so you do not need to re-enter the login details each time. To do this, proceed exactly as described in step 1 8; you only have to extend the URL from step two and call up the website Setting up the app on clients

17 For a direct login, enter the following URL: user name = mvuser password = start This way you can proceed with each login that was created via the system preferences of dicompacs (see next chapter). 10. Important for all demo versions of : Until does not require a software license to view images! All images recorded up to 31st December 2012 will be shown in patient search. (This note you will find once again on the patient search screen.) Figure 15. Reference to demo version If you would like to use the app after 31st December 2012, you can purchase a license from your dealer Using the app via internet If you want to use also via the Internet, it is essential that you set up a VPN (Virtual Private Network) connection for this purpose. You can set up a point-to-end or end-to-end connection to reach your server, where runs. We recommend an end-to-end connection for secure image transfer. You can find more information on how to set up a VPN connection on the Internet or from your administrator. 4 Setting up the app on clients -17-

18 Chapter 5.Creating new user logins New user logins can be created as follows: For dicompacs 1. Start dicompacs. 2. In the section management click on the button system preferences. 3. The following dialogue opens. Login with the administrator login credentials in the upper right corner. Figure 16. System preferences Creating new user logins

19 4. After the successful login, the following, extended dialogue opens. Select the user management button from the system preference menu. It is the in the second row the 3rd button. Open the tab User on the left and select + Add ; type in an explicit user name and password.please confirm the first password with a second input. 5 Creating new user logins -19-

21 For dicompacs DX-R 1. Start dicompacs DX-R and open the support mode with the administrator login. Figure 20. Start screen support mode 2. Here select the menu item User management ; on the right panel side you can type in the new user name of the app. On the following page you have to enter the user password and then to confirm it with a second input. 3. Now you can create also a shortcut for the newly created users to the mobile terminals or Windows client systems - with or without direct login, according to chapter Setting up the app on clients. 5 Creating new user logins -21-

22 5.1. List of already logged in users Figure 21. Information, that the number of available licenses is reached The above shown dialogue appears when you log in as a user, but all purchased licenses are currently in use (i.e. the maximum number of simultaneously logged in users). The dialogue informs you about your co-user logon details: login name, date and time of last action, used device (PC - tablet), operating system, browser. By clicking on the respective adjacent logout button you can for example log out the user with the least recent action and you are then automatically logged in Creating new user logins

23 Chapter 6.Functions 6.1. Patient search After the login, you are right in the patient search screen. Here you have an overview of all studies of your dicompacs archive; you have the option to filter the studies by date or to view defined studies by full-text search. The logout per logout button is only possible after the manual input of the login data. Figure 22. Patient search screen In case of the direct login via the shortcut, you can simply logout by leaving the app. You can search within the patient list by scrolling (vertical pushing with a finger) on the tablet surface. By clicking on the button More Entries the list is enlarged by further studies that are in the dicompacs archive. To show the relevant study (row), just click on it with your finger tip. The selected study is then opened in the viewer. 6 Functions -23-

24 6.2. Tools The following functions of dicompacs /dicompacs DX-R are available at the toolbar on the right side: Patient search Figure 23. Tools Grids By tipping on the desired grid, e.g. or, the working area will be arranged accordingly. If several images are loaded in the navigation bar (left), the automatic allocation starts from top to bottom (the selected images show a thin red frame) into the grid. If you want to allocate other images from the navigation bar, take one finger (or the mouse) and move the desired image to the desired grid position done. Rotate Mirror Functions

25 Invert Zoom To zoom, either use one of the two buttons in the toolbar (enlarge, minimize ), or modify the size by moving two fingers apart/closer (to pinch open & close) on tablet surface. (On the PC you can zoom by scrolling with the mouse while the cursor is moved over the desired image.) Fit image If you want to reset the image after some size modifications, tip on the fit in button below the zoom buttons or tip on the reset button. Full screen mode Double-tap on the image or use the button. You can leave this mode by double-tapping again on the image by or tapping on the arrow button (bottom right corner). In the full screen mode the overlays will fade out after five seconds; they fade-in by a single tap (PC: click). The double-tap/-click closes the full screen mode even while the overlays are hidden. Move (This function has no allocated button; it corresponds to the click-&-move with the mouse when using a PC.) To move the image within the view panel: tap and move (click, hold and move) the image in the desired direction. Reset The reset button resets the following functions: rotate, mirror, zoom, brightness and invert. Brightness You find these two buttons (+/ ) on the left beside the toolbar in the view panel. Tap and move up/down to adjust the desired brightness. (You can watch the process in the small preview window that opens.) If you take off your fingers, the changes are taken over. 6 Functions -25-

26 6.3. Slices/Series When loading image series, the following information and functions are shown: - display of number of slices in navigation bar: top left in the number of slices preview image (yellow), e.g.: 15 - display of the image number: top center in the image (yellow), e.g.: 3/15 - Play-Button ( ) bottom left: single/first tap starts playing the series as film; now the play button changes to a pause button ( ): pressing the button again stops the cycle (image number is shown at the top) - forwards/backwards (scrolling) bottom center: this is both a slider to scroll through the series (tapping/clicking, holding and moving the finger/mouse to the right/left hand side) and a button for slower slice switching (single image switch while tapping/clicking on the forwards or backwards button) Display of the number of slices Buttons for the display of the series Figure 24. 27 Chapter 7. Monitor Monitor (derived from monitoring) is a configuration interface for important settings of and is installed on the server with the setup (update). The corresponding Monitor tray icon displays two states: 1. The icon is green, i.e. is active. 2. The icon is red, i.e. was stopped Menu items Tooltip The tooltip of Monitor displays the most important information. Tooltip with information regarding the used database, port number and number of connections is active Figure 25. 28 Figure 26. Start/Stop of Change database The selected database, on which works, is displayed in the context menu. If more than one database is available on the server, it can be selected between the dicompacs and dicompacs DX-R database. If necessary, you can also set the default user for the login to. Figure 27. Change of database Change port number The port to reach can be changed easily. Recommended is a port number greater than 1024 (standard ports). CAUTION The port number for HTTPS can not be changed, it will always be Monitor

29 Figure 28. Change the port number Show connections A dialogue opens via this context menu, that shows an overview over the active connections. The logged user name, the date of the last activity (click), from which system and with which browser it was logged on to. This is already known from the dialogue with the list of active users, see page 22. Additionally, it is possible to disconnect active connections in this dialogue, so that new users can login according to the concurrent user licensing model. Figure 29. Overview over the connections Show logging Via this menu item the dicompacs-mobileview.log file is displayed, to view any potential errors. 7 Monitor -29-

30 Info dialogue This dialogue displays the currently used version numbers. In addition, via the link it can be navigated to the OR Technology website. Figure 30. Info dialogue Exit The monitor programme closes by clicking on Exit Monitor. is still active. To start Monitor again, open the Windows Start menu. Click under Programs in the autostart on the link Monitor Deinstallation It is not necessary to uninstall Monitor separately. The Monitor is automatically removed when uninstalling from the system, see page Monitor
