12 Interactive Quick Search Tool Quick way to navigate and learn new User Interface. Just type command name or keyword Allows to find Ribbon commands by name or keywords After command is selected, it switches the Ribbon Tab and highlights and executes the command Searches within Pro and Add-Ins

13 Themes in the Layer Control In 16.0 we added Ranged themes to the Layer control. v17.0 supports Individual value themes Individual bins visibility can be controlled through Layer Control Labels respect bin visibility v17.0 supports Graduated value themes No control for visibility - does not make sense

14 Create Points improvement When a create points operation is completed, the result can now be opened in a new map window or added to an existing map window. This saves time and clicks as compared to going to Layer control and adding the layer.

15 Data Editing Sticky Reshape When you enter Reshape mode, the layer will stay in Reshape mode until you turn it off. If you click on something in a different layer and then return to the layer you are editing, Reshape mode will be remembered.

16 Open a table after saving a copy of it The Save Copy As dialog box now offers an option to open the table being saved. You can choose the preferred view as well.

17 Fewer mouse clicks In a map window, pressing the Esc key changes the currently selected tool to the Select tool. Press Ctrl + Shift + I to use the Info tool

19 Layout templates Choose from pre-built templates installed with MapInfo Pro Create your own templates by saving your Layout as a template

20 Alignment Smart Guides Added Smart Guides and improved snapping so that it is much simpler to align objects or snap them together quickly Smart Guides work by snapping objects on the layout together as they move close together

21 New Layout Mini-Toolbar When you right-click on a layout, you will get a Mini-Toolbar with some popular layout functions conveniently at your disposal Quickly style and edit Layout without the need to use the ribbon The Mini-Toolbar is customizable

22 Zooming/Panning Moving around the Layout made easier: When zooming in/out using the zoom tool or mouse, the zoom operation is now centered on mouse location Added Fit Layout in Window option in the Layout context menu to quickly zoom out to see the entire Layout Hold down the middle mouse button to pan around the Layout

23 Paper Margins Paper Margins now shown on the Layout so that you are aware of nonprintable space With Snap to Grid on, you can snap objects to the Paper Margins

28 MDAL (MapInfo Data Access Library) Subset of MapXtreme is included with MapInfo Pro Intended to be used as a data access library for developers/partners Provides thread safe performant Data Access to Native/NativeX tables MI SQL support Will be used to build Geocoding and GeoZone AddIns Sample application and documentation provided with MapInfo Pro

31 Align Tool Can be used to align the cells and origin of one or more rasters to an existing raster making it easier to combine, export and access the same cell data across multiple files

32 Polygonise Tool New tool that can export classified or continuous raster data to vector polygons. Polygons can be created from cells with the following properties: Valid/Invalid Same value Raster bounds Custom values

33 Warp Tool New tool that can geo-register and/or warp rasters to a new set of control points. Used for geo-registering raw image data, old scanned images or maps, pictures etc. Warp can be done on-the-fly via WCF control file or saved permanently to a new raster.

34 Merge Edit Can be used to merge data from one or more raster into an existing raster as an edit (update) operation.
