13 Layout Designer Layout Templates Create and share your own layout templates in portable. LAY files. Templates appear in a gallery when selecting New Layout. Smart Alignment Objects automatically snap to align with existing objects in the layout. Can be deactivated. Smart Text Placeholders in your textboxes that that get expanded when you use a template. 15 Themes in the Layer Control Building on work done in v16, we added Individual Value and Graduated themes to the layer control. Individual value themes: Individual bin visibility can be controlled through Layer Control Labels respect bin visibility

16 Table Operations Browsing results after updating columns When using the Update Column command, the Browse Results check box will remember its setting for the duration of the session. Open a table after saving a copy of it The Save Copy As dialog box now offers an option to open the table being saved. You can choose the preferred view as well.

17 Create Points improvement When a create points operation is completed, the result can now be opened in a new map window or added to an existing map window. This saves time and clicks as compared to going to Layer control and adding the layer. 17

18 .NET Data Access Library MapInfo Add-Ins An easy to use API: Data Access Object Model: Create MapInfo Tables and operations for Insert, Update, Delete, Select, Join multiple tables and Search. The MapInfo Data Access Library (MDAL) allows.net developers to create MapInfo Pro Add-ins that can easily Create, Search, and Update MapInfo Tables and other supported database formats such as Oracle, SQL Server, GeoPackage. The Library is based on a subset of the MapInfo MapXtreme SDK product. Currently the MapInfo Data Access Library is only available for use with MapInfo Pro Add-ins. Geometry Object Model: Efficient reading, creation and editing of all MapInfo Geometry types, including text objects. Also supports conversion to and from Well Known Binary, Well Known Text and GeoJson formats. Supports MapInfo Pro standards for: Data formats MiSql Coordinate Systems ** With some exceptions or minor differences Thread-Safe: Can be used to create background tasks in MapInfo Pro or run processing on secondary threads Pro style transactions: on MapInfo and MapInfo Extended tables. This allows for background threads to edit tables open in Pro and let the end user decide to commit or revert the changes. Documentation: API Reference Guide, User Guide, MiSql reference

19 Data Editing - Reshape If you use the Reshape tool and have found yourself leaving Reshape mode accidentally, version 17.0 has changed the behavior. When you enter Reshape mode, the layer will stay in Reshape mode until you turn it off. If you click on something on a different layer and then return to the layer you are editing, Reshape mode will be remembered. 19

21 Hotkey improvements Quickly get back to the Select tool Pressing Esc key to automatically change the currently selected tool to the Select tool. Info Tool Hotkey Press Ctrl + Shift + I to automatically start the Info tool window and set the current tool to the the Info tool Alt-Key There is now a setting to turn off using the Alt key for key tips. This allows the Alt key to be used to map to other hotkey operations. To do this, check the Hide Key Tip option in the Application Preferences. Command Editor We ve made some usability improvements to the command editor to make it easier to create and manage hotkey assignments

23 Geocoding & Drivetime Polygons Cloud Services These are new Add-in modules with a much-improved experience for quickly geocoding tables of addresses or generating drivetime isochrones using our cloud services. Each copy of Pro will come with some free credits to get you started using these services. And you can sign up for a subscription for additional credits. 25 Raster Improvements MapInfo Advanced Improved quality of imagery: smoothening to remove jagged edges better appearance at high resolution New features : Warp Georeference with control points Polygonize create polygons from raster data Align - snap one raster with respect to another raster for identical geometry 25

26 Raster Support 32-bit (alpha channel) 32-bit raster images can be now correctly rendered in MapInfo Pro Many WMS and WMTS servers return images as 32-bit rasters Spectrum Spatial WMS by default returns images as 32-bit PNG files Raster module can handle 32-bit imagery
