3 1 Introduction To simplify parcel delivery processing, we ve developed DPD Shipper the parcel label printing solution. DPD Shipper lets you create parcel labels instantly and effortlessly. 1.1 Operating systems supported DPD Shipper can be installed on the following operating systems: Windows 7 SP1 (x86 and x64) Windows 8 (x86 and x64) Windows 8.1 (x86 and x64) Windows 10 (x86 and x64) Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 (x64) Windows Server 2012 (x64) Windows Server 2012 R2 (x64) 1.2 Hardware requirements The following hardware requirements must be met for DPD Shipper to be installed: 1 GHz or faster CPU 512 MB RAM 5 GB of free space (x86 and x64) 2 Installation DPD Shipper can be installed in two ways: The differences are as follows: - When installed as a Windows application, the programme is able to access all printers and network drives installed on your computer. However, the programme must be run manually. - When installed as a Windows service, the programme is running in the background at all times and does not need to be started manually. However, by default the service does not have access to printers which have been installed on a print server and then shared. Start the installation by running the setup file DPD Shipper_X_X.exe. 2.1 Install.NET Framework If the Microsoft.Net Framework is not already installed on your computer, this will be installed first. If you are not prompted to install the.net Framework, please continue with one of the following points. After installation, your computer may need to be restarted. 4 2.2 Installation as a Windows application For installation as a Windows application, select Application after starting the installation file and click Install. Once installation is complete, you can start DPD Shipper via the icon on the desktop. The following is then displayed: The programme can be terminated by clicking End. Clicking Open web interface opens the order entry window in your standard browser. 2.3 Installation as a Windows service For installation as a Windows application, select Service after starting the installation file and click Install. 5 2.4 Demo version After the installation, you have access to the demo version where you can have a look at the program. You can test everything with this demo version (address import, shipment import, acceptance protocol, etc.) that is possible with the full version. The parcel labels of the demo version are the same as from the full version. The only difference is that the sender address is of DPD Slovakia. Also, it s visible on the label that you re using the demo version. The print of the acceptance protocol is also possible. But the acceptance protocol looks different, then the one of the full version. To use the full version, you need a configuration file from DPD. You can import this file into the demo version to activate the full version. 2.5 Import configuration file in the demo version You will receive a configuration file from the DPD IT Businessdesk, along with your personal installation password. configuration-xxx.json CIT DPD Shipper 2.1 Manual Swiss Customers (D) Page 5 / 11

6 Save the file locally on your computer where you started the DPD Shipper setup. When you start the newly installed DPD Shipper installation for the first time, the menu item to upload the configuration file will open automatically. If you want to import the configuration file later, can you do this in this menu. When prompted for the configuration file, select the directory in which you saved the.json file. To do this, click on the task Select file Then select the file and enter the password to complete the setup. To do this, click on the menu item Upload configuration file 3 First log-in and user management For the DPD Shipper administrator, please use the following log-in information: User: admin@<<your account>> Password: secret Please note that usernames and passwords are case-sensitive. Under the menu item Settings User management, you can add and then manage additional users. The programme recognises two different user roles: - Creator - Administrator As Creator, you create and print the parcel labels and the collection list (shipping list). The Creator also has limited rights to modify settings, such as the configuration of a printer. In addition, access to certain clients (collection addresses) and services can be restricted. The Administrator has the same functions as the Creator, but in addition also has all rights to make basic settings during installation. 4 Configuring the printer The print settings can be modified by going to the menu item Settings Print. 7 During the initial installation, you must set the printer for the labels and the printer for the protocols. Choose from the following label formats. Either A4 (4 labels per page) or A6 labels (1 label per page) For label printers we recommend the following basic settings: Thermal printer language: Labels printer type: Zebra Protocols printer type: ZPL Laser All other settings are optional and can be modified as necessary. 5 Address book import To import master data into the DPD Shipper address book, the addresses must be provided in the form of an Excel CSV file and correctly formatted. Please refer to the import structure in Section 5.1 Note: The addresses must be available as a CSV file to carry out an import. You can use the menu item Recipients to manage addresses. 8 The data will then be checked. If some data are incomplete or cannot be processed for DPD Shipper, these data will be displayed in an error list. If the file is only partially incomplete, all correct data will be imported and the incorrect datasets will be displayed in the error list. 5.1 Import structure for the CSV file The data structure for importing addresses into the DPD Shipper address book is predefined. This means the addresses to be imported must be modified before the import is carried out. The easiest way to edit the addresses to be imported is in Excel. How the columns are divided is described here. The file is then imported into the address book with headers. Note: The columns with a star * are required fields. 9 6 Inputting parcel labels Select New shipment order in the menu bar to enter new parcel labels. Select the required service with which the parcel is to be sent. Then enter the recipient address. If the address is already saved in your address book, all remaining fields will automatically be filled in for you. Note: New recipients are automatically saved in the address book. You now have the option of saving the label or printing it directly. The label created appears in the order overview. 10 7 Dispatch completion Completing the dispatch process generates a summary of all newly input parcels in the order overview. This dispatch completion is automatically produced by DPD Shipper and serves, on the one hand, to provide reference for your files, and on the other as transfer of liability to the DPD driver. At the same time, during the printing process data are transmitted to DPD. In this data transmission, all parcel and address information relating to the shipment is delivered to DPD. 7.1 Print the shipping list If all parcels have been correctly recorded in DPD Shipper, select the menu item Daily procedure. Now select Protocols to print the shipping list and transmit the data to DPD. If you have orders with cash on delivery (COD), a cash-on-delivery list will also be printed.
