1 Micropath Corporation 2023 Montane Drive East Tel: Web: Golden, Colorado Fax: GeoCode LOS GeoCode LOS generates radio communications path profiles based on a master file consisting of tower sites, meters, substations, etc and a single remote site coordinate. The master file is a user Excel XLS spreadsheet or a CSV text file. The remote location or point may be a street address, a click on the internal Google Maps displayed in the GeoCode LOS web browser, or a manual keyboard entry of a latitude / longitude coordinate. The path distance is first calculated between a remote point and each location or tower in the master file. If the path distance criteria is met, the antenna discrimination angle is calculated. Once established that path distance and antenna discrimination angle are valid, path profiles are generated. The validated master or tower sites are listed in a chart and the first five path profiles in the list are displayed. A mouse click on any master or tower site entry automatically selects that path profile or determines a new sequence of up to 5 path profiles to display. Displayed path profiles can be maximized for full screen presentation, zoomed in on a selected portion of the path profile, printed, or saved to a graphics image file. Visual presentations on the Google Maps (Street, Satellite, and Terrain views), include the footprint(s) or sector pattern of the antenna beamwidth of selected master sites and individual antennae. A system diagram between the remote point and validated master sites can be displayed, printed, or saved to a graphics.png file. GeoCode LOS provides non technical individuals with the tools to readily determine if the street address of a prospective customer has a LOS path and/or VOIP capability with one or more of your towers or master radio sites. Data rates and antenna azimuths (Magnetic and True North) are displayed on the path profile. GeoCode LOS is an ideal tool for ISP s desiring to minimize technician service calls to prospective customers that do not have LOS with your tower sites. A Report form of the LOS results can be saved to a file, printed, or copied to the clipboard for insertion into a dispatch order. Engineering and technical individuals will find GeoCode LOS useful in analyzing existing and/or proposed tower sites that may be used in expanding and/or modifying the layout of an RF network. Single or multiple antenna beamwidths or footprints, including overlapping footprints of two or more antenna sectors, can be overlayed and easily interpreted on the Google Maps. The GeoCode LOS learning curve takes only a few minutes once the master XLS or CSV file is created and the free NED or SRTM elevation data is downloaded from the USGS Seamless Data Server. GeoCode LOS, as part of Micropath s Visual Path Design software series, extensively employs mouse click functionality to optimize program navigation. Manual keyboard within the program is minimized to only a few items such as a GeoCoding a street address, an optional latitude/longitude coordinate entry for a remote location, entering a file name, and the enter once and forget default values. In addition, street address input can be automated through an external text file generated by another software application such as a contact manager. Four different Google map types are available in GeoCode LOS: Google Maps Streets, Satellite, Satellite with streets, and Terrain. The included sample files provide a quick and easy program startup, a mouse click, and displayed results in seconds. 2 System diagram route maps interconnecting tower sites can be also be displayed. An Excel spreadsheet is used to define tower sites and labels, line colors and line widths. Street address GeoCoding results are saved in monthly LOS and NLOS Excel XLS files. These XLS files can be displayed in GeoCode LOS as a system overview on our internal Google Maps presentation. This is an excellent tool to document and visually display the physical LOS and NLOS coverage areas.
