3 Getting Started with the VA DAP App Installing the VA DAP App The VA DAP app is compatible with ios 10 and higher. The VA DAP app can be used on iphones and ipads. 1. Search the App Store for VA DAP. 2. Install the app. Logging into the App and Opening Components Figure 1 VA DAP Login Screen Figure 2 App Home Screen Figure 3 Component Buttons 1. Tap the VA DAP app icon on the device s home screen. The VA DAP login screen is displayed (Figure 1). 2. Complete the Username and Password fields. The username and password are the ones you created when you registered for the conference. 3. If you wish to use ios s fingerprint recognition to log in rather than entering a password, tap the Use Touch ID for future logins slider to select it. Note that Save Password must be enabled to use this feature. 4. If you wish to save your username and password so that you do not have to retype them on future logins, tap the Save Password slider to select it. Note that your login information will be saved for 24 hours since your last login. Page 1

4 5. Tap the Login button. The home screen is displayed (Figure 2). 6. The component buttons lists the components contained within the app (Figure 3). Tap a component button to open it. Logging out of the VA DAP App Figure 4 VA DAP Home Screen Figure 5 Sign Out Button 1. Tap the User button in the upper-right corner of the screen (Figure 4). The Signed In As window is displayed. 2. Tap the Sign Out button (Figure 5). You are logged out and returned to the login screen. Resetting Your Password If you forget your password, you can reset it at any time. 1. Tap the Forgot Password? link on the login screen (Figure 1). A web page is opened. 2. Follow the directions to reset your password. 3. Once you have reset your password, you may log in to the VA DAP app using the new password. Page 2

5 Using the Schedule Component The My Schedule component provides a list of the sessions you scheduled using the matches that were returned based on the profile you completed online. Because My Schedule is updated frequently, it is always accurate regardless of room changes. In addition, it provides a reminder 5 minutes before each session you are registered for that lists the time, session name, and room. Your scheduled events are displayed, filtered by day (Figure 6). 2. To view a different day, tap the day at the top of the screen (Figure 7). 3. Tap a session to view more details (Figure 8). Viewing an Event on the Map 1. View the session details. 2. Tap the View on Map button in the upper-right corner of the screen (Figure 8). The convention center floor plan is displayed with a pin placed on the session room. Page 3

6 Attending a Session While attending sessions as a participant provides you with many opportunities, there are a few items that may prove useful to you. Figure 9 Action Button Figure 10 Check In Button Figure 11 Check In Confirmation Window Checking In to a Session When you are attending a session as a participant, it is important to check in to the session. This allows the conference staff to confirm your attendance for the purposes of continuing education credits. 1. View the session details. 2. Tap the Action button (Figure 9), then tap the Check In button (Figure 10). A confirmation window is displayed (Figure 11). 3. Tap the Check In button. You are checked in to the session. 4. Note that the Check In button has now toggled to become a Check Out button. If you are pulled out of the session or are unable to attend for any reason after you check in, you can check back out by tapping the Action button, then tapping the Check Out button. Page 4

7 Reporting a Missing Host If the host is not present at the start time of a session, you can use the app to report the host missing. This prompts the conference staff to track down the missing host and get them to the correct session room. Figure 12 Report Missing Host Link Figure 13 Report Missing Host Confirmation 1. View the session details. 2. Tap the Report Missing link for the host (Figure 12). A confirmation message is displayed. 3. Tap the OK button (Figure 13). The conference staff is alerted that a host is missing and they will track down the missing host and get them to the correct session room. Page 5

8 Learning More About Your Host My Schedule allows you to drill down into your host s profile and learn more about the other sessions they are offering, current business opportunities, and information about their position and company. Figure 14 Session Details Figure 15 Host Profile 1. Within the session details (Figure 14), tap the host s name to view the Details tab of the event host s profile (Figure 15). 2. Within the host details, tap the Sessions tab to view other sessions presented by the same host. 3. Within the host details, tap the Opportunities tab to view business opportunities with the session host. Page 6

9 Hosting a Session As a session host, there are a few things you should know how to do with the app to ensure that your sessions run smoothly. Figure 16 Action Button Figure 17 Check In Button Figure 18 Check In Confirmation Window Checking In to a Session When you are attending a session as a host, it is important to check in to the session. This allows the conference staff to confirm your attendance for the purposes of continuing education credits. 1. View the session details. 2. Tap the Action button (Figure 16), then tap the Check In button (Figure 17). A confirmation window is displayed (Figure 18). 3. Tap the Check In button. You are checked in to the session. 4. Note that the Check In button has now toggled to become a Check Out button. If you are pulled out of the session or are unable to attend for any reason after you check in, you can check back out by tapping the Action button, then tapping the Check Out button. Page 7

10 Reporting Absent Participants If you have arrived at the session room and the participants are not present at the session start time, you can use the app to report them missing. This prompts the conference staff to track down the missing participants and get them to the correct session room. Tap the Report Participants Missing button (Figure 19). A confirmation window is displayed, listing the session room (Figure 20). 4. If you are in the correct session room, tap the Yes button. A confirmation message is displayed. 5. Tap the OK button. The conference staff is alerted that participants missing and they will track down the missing participants and get them to the correct session room. Page 8

11 Running Late to a Session If you are running late for a session you are scheduled to host, you should let the conference staff know as soon as you can so that they can wait in the session room and tell participants to wait for you. The Running Late confirmation window is displayed (Figure 22). 2. Tap the OK button. The Running Late window is displayed (Figure 23). 3. Tap the radio button corresponding to how late you expect to be. A message is sent to the conference staff. 4. Note that the Running Late button is still available. If you are unexpectedly detained further, you can tap the button again and report another delay. Page 9

12 Viewing the Participant List As the host, you can review the list of participants for your sessions at any time. 1. View the session details. 2. Tap the Participants tab to view a list of participants (Figure 24). Figure 24 Participant List Page 10

13 Using the Agenda Component The Agenda component contains a chronological list of the events scheduled at the conference is displayed, filtered by day. As time passes, sessions that have already taken place are removed so that the events at the top of the list are always just about to start. This provides you with an easy way to fill gaps in your schedule. Figure 25 Agenda Screen Figure 26 Date Selection Figure 27 Filter Options 1. Tap the Agenda button at the bottom of the screen. A list of sessions is displayed (Figure 25). 2. To view a different day, tap the day at the top of the screen (Figure 26). 3. To filter the list of events (Figure 25): a. Tap the Filter button in the upper-right corner of the screen. The Filter Options window is displayed. b. Enter the search text in the Text Search field. c. Tap the check boxes for the session types you wish to see. d. Tap the Search button. The filter remains when you switch days in the agenda and when you view a different component in the app. 4. To remove the filter, tap the Filter button, tap the Clear button, then tap the Search button. Page 11

14 Using the Event Map Component The Event Map component provides floor plans for each level of the venue, allowing you to find session rooms with ease. Figure 28 Event Map Component Figure 29 Level Selector 1. Tap the Event Map button at the bottom of the screen. A floor plan of level 1 is displayed (Figure 28). 2. Tap the number for the level you wish to view (Figure 29). The floor plan is displayed. 3. Swipe the floor plan in any direction to pan to a different area. 4. Pinch out to zoom in; pinch in to zoom out. 5. Tap the Reset button to return to the original view of the floor (Figure 29). Page 12

15 Using the People Component The People component contains a list of the people attending the conference. Each person is assigned a compatibility score, showing their similarity to you based on the profiles you completed when you registered for the conference. Figure 30 People Component Figure 31 Advanced Filter Screen Figure 32 Filter Results 1. Tap the People button at the bottom of the screen. The People screen is displayed (Figure 30). Using the People Filter 1. To open the people filter, tap the Filter button. The Filter screen is displayed (Figure 31). 2. To filter by first name, last name, or company, enter the search text in the Text Search field. 3. To filter for activity hosts, select the check box for Only Having Sessions. 4. To filter by state, community of interest, business category, primary function, federal supply schedule, business certification, or small business category, tap the drop-down(s) and select the appropriate option(s). 5. When you have completed all applicable search criteria, tap the Search button. The filter results are displayed onscreen, along with an icon in the upper left corner indicating that a filter is applied. 6. To view an attendee s profile, tap their name. The Details tab of their profile is displayed (Figure 32). Page 13

16 7. If the attendee is hosting sessions at the conference, their profile will contain a Sessions tab. Tap it to view a list of the sessions. 8. If the attendee is responsible for a business opportunity, their profile will contain an Opportunities tab. Tap it to view a list of the opportunities. 9. To modify the filter, tap the Filter button and make the desired changes, then tap the Search button. 10. To remove the filter, tap the Remove button in the upper-left corner of the filter results screen (Figure 32). Using the Favorite Contacts List Your Favorites list gives you a quick way to access frequently used contacts. Tap the Add to Favorites button in the lower-right corner of the profile details screen (Figure 33). The contact is added to your favorites list. 3. To view the Favorites list, tap the Favorites button at the top of the main People screen. The Favorites list is displayed (Figure 34). 4. To remove a contact from the Favorites list, view the profile details, then tap the Remove from Favorites button in the lower-right corner of the screen (Figure 35). Page 14
