1 SKILLPORT INSTRUCTIONS Skillport is a computer-based training website that you can access from any computer with internet access. Please note that the Skillport system requires Java (download available below). Your login information is as follows: Website: Username: same as your Novell Password: matc is the default password (you will be able to change your password the first time you log in) Once you log in to the system, you should click on the tab titled "my plan." This will show you the courses that have been assigned to you. If you would like to view the course summary, hover over the title and click on "show details." If you would like to take a course, click on "launch." INSTRUCTIONS FOR DOWNLOADING JAVA: 1. Click on the following link to go to a website offering a free download of the latest version of Java Click on the "FREE JAVA DOWNLOAD" button. Note: It will check their PC first and tell them if they have the latest version of Java. Once you have completed each course, please print the certificate of completion and provide them to Human Resources by as soon as possible. 2 CHANGE YOUR PASSWORD: 1. Click on My Profile in the upper right corner of the Home screen 2. Click on Update Your User Profile 3. Select a New Password 4. Click on Update Profile to change password ACCESS ASSIGNED TRAINING: 1. Click on the My Plan tab located on the left side of the screen 2. You will see two tabs on the My Plan screen. Your assigned learning program(s) will be listed in the first folder titled Assigned. Click on the + sign to the left of the folder to expand the contents of the folder 3. A learning program consists of multiple courses for you to complete. Move your mouse to hover over the title of the learning program and click on Show Details to view the names of the courses within the learning program (see below)

3 4. Hover over the title of a course and you will be able to: a. Launch Course b. View Details

4 TAKE A COURSE: 1. To take a course, move your mouse over the title of the course and click on launch 2. This will take you to the table of contents view for the course 3. Click on Begin Course to start from the beginning of the course RESUME A COURSE: The Skillport system keeps track of each screen that you viewed within a course. If you are unable to complete an entire course in one session, you are able to resume the course where you left off. 1. Follow the instructions above to take a course, except Return to Bookmark will now appear, instead of Begin Course in the bottom right corner 2. Click on Return To Bookmark and the system will resume where you left off 3. On the Table of Contents page, the system will also flag the current section you are working on with a red arrow (see below) CHECK YOUR PROGRESS: There are two ways to check your progress in the Skillport System OPTION 1. Check Progress of All Assignments (Learning Programs and Courses) 1. Click on the My Progress tab located on the left side of your home screen (see below) and you will see two tab options titled In Progress and Completed 2. The In Progress tab shows the assigned items that you are currently working on

5 3. The Completed tab shows the assigned items that you have successfully completed OPTION 2. Check Progress within a Course 1. From within the course, click on the Course Menu tab 2. This will give you a completion status for all of the sections within the course 3. Completed sections will have a green circle in the status column 4. Incomplete sections will have a white circle in the status column Please note that all sections within a course must show a green circle of completion or the course will not show as completed on the My Progress tab or on the reports received by your supervisor.

6 PRINT CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION: 1. Click on the My Progress tab located on the left side of your home screen (see below) and you will see two tab options titled In Progress and Completed 2. Click on the Completed tab, which shows the assigned items that you have successfully completed 3. Find the course title for which you would like to print the certificate of completion. If you do not see the title, change the date range to All 4. Click on the ribbon icon on the right side of the screen. The certificate of completion will appear in a separate window for you to print.
