2 Start-up and configuration - turn the laptops on and and wait until they boot into Windows - you may now connect the VGA cable with an external monitor, the following window will show up: - select the second option extended desktop (rozšíření in Czech) and select OK - you can change that setting any time later using the Windows context menu: - the screen resolution can be changed in the following menu if necessary:
3 Starting the simulator - voice communication is provided using the TeamSpeak application, TeamSpeak Server starts automatically with Windows on student position ( ) - before starting the simulator, start the TeamSpeak Client with the shortcut on the desktop: ts-pilot1 or ts-student1 - this link automatically connects the position into session1 channel, you can verify that in the TeamSpeak window - TeamSpeak is configured in the way, that the voice is transmitted when holding the ALT key - after connected to TeamSpeak, you can start the simulator by using the link on the desktop: TWRsim - LKTB - the simulator works in the master-slave mode, where PP position is the master (host) - after starting and initialisation of TWRsim application, select on student s position in menu: Configuration > Connect to host, this will interconnect the positions - after successfully connected, select on pseudopilot s position in menu: Exercise > Open command log and select an exercise to load - the exercises are located in the exercise folder under the following path: - the exercise is now ready to run, you can unpause it by pressing the pause button:
4 Ending the exercise - to load a new exercise, first select on pseudopilot position in menu: Configuration > Reset, which deletes all current aircraft and intended actions - you can then load a new exercise using the above mentioned steps (Exercise > Open command log) Tips and tricks - it is recommended to use the second radar window (map overview) on the extended desktop; you can open it by pressing the map button: - you can put the second window on full screen by pressing the F button - you can display the runway center line in the radar by holding the left mouse button in it and pressing F3 - clicking into the main radar screen gives focus to the command line - selecting an aircraft puts its callsign into the command line - route can be easily assigned by Shift-clicking into the radar; it is recommended to be properly zoomed-in in order to choose the correct point in case there are more of them located nearby - you can delete the whole route by entering FE, or just the current navpoint by FE 1 or the most recently added navpoint by FE -1 - other useful instructions and hints are mentioned in the pilot log
