Use this guide to set up the hrdwre nd connect the HP All-in-One to either your computer or working network. If you hve prolems during setup, see Trouleshooting lter in the guide. 2 Remove ll tpe nd lift disply Remove ll tpe. For est viewing, remove the protective film from the color grphics disply. 4 Attch the control pnel fceplte (if not ttched) Lift the lid. Position the control pnel fceplte over the uttons on the device. c Press down firmly on ll edges of the overly to secure it. Mke sure ll uttons re visile nd not locked. The control pnel fceplte must e ttched for the HP All-in-One to work! 5 Lod pper trys Min try: c d Lod plin white pper in the ottom pper try. Plin pper is needed for lignment. Photo pper try: e f g Lod the 4 x 6 in (10 x 15 cm) photo pper with the glossy side down in the photo try locted underneth the output try. (If pper is ted, mke sure the t is towrds you.) h i Tip: Pull out, nd then flip the pper try extender to ctch pges. 2 HP All-in-One
6 Connect the power cord USB cle users: Do not connect the USB cle until instructed lter in this guide. 7 Press the On utton nd configure On After you press the On utton, the lue light fl shes, nd then ecomes solid. This my tke up to minute. Wit for the lnguge prompt efore continuing. Use the rrow keys to select your lnguge, press OK, nd then confirm. Use the rrow keys to select your country/region, press OK, nd then confirm. 8 Open the ccess door HP All-in-One 3
9 Lift ltches inside of the device Squeeze the ottom of ech ltch to relese it, nd then lift the ltch. Lift ll six ltches. 10 Insert ll six ink crtridges Mtch the color nd pttern of the ink crtridge to the color nd pttern on the print crrige. Push the lck ink crtridge into the first slot on the left. Close the ltch. Repet with ech of the color ink crtridges. c Mke sure ech ltch is secure. c 4 HP All-in-One
11 Close the ccess door nd follow the prompts After you close the ccess door, prompt ppers to lod plin white pper. Mke sure plin white pper is loded, nd then press OK to strt the process. The device initilizes the ink crtridges nd ligns the printer. This tkes pproximtely 5 minutes. Do not disconnect or turn off the HP All-in-One during this time. You my her the device mking noises. After the pge prints, the printer is ligned. Check the color grphics disply for the sttus, nd then press OK. Recycle or discrd the lignment pge. 12 Turn on your computer Turn on your computer, login if necessry, nd then wit for the desktop to pper. Close ny open progrms. Continue to the next pge. 13 Choose ONE connection type (A or B) A: USB Connection - Do not connect yet. Use this connection type if you wnt to connect the device directly to one computer. (Do not connect until the softwre instructs you to.) Equipment needed: USB cle. For USB connection, go to Section A (pge 7) for instructions. B: Ethernet (Wired) Network Use this connection type if you wnt n Ethernet cle connection etween the device nd your network. Equipment needed: hu/router/switch nd Ethernet cle. For n Ethernet cle connection, go to Section B (pge 9) for instructions. Section A: USB Connection A1 Insert the correct CD Windows Users: Mcintosh Users: Note: If the strtup screen does not pper fter you insert the CD, doule-click My Computer, doule-click the CD-ROM icon, nd then doule-click setup.exe. Insert the HP All-in-One Windows CD. Follow the onscreen instructions to instll the softwre. c On the Connection Type screen, mke sure to select directly to this computer. Continue to the next pge. A2 Connect the USB cle Windows Users: Follow the onscreen instructions until you see the prompt to connect the USB cle. (This my tke severl minutes.) Once the prompt ppers, connect the USB cle to the port on the ck of the HP All-in-One, nd then to ny USB port on your computer. Mcintosh Users: Connect the USB cle from your computer to the USB port on the ck of the device. Doule-click the HP All-in-One instller icon. c Mke sure you complete ll screens, including the Setup Assistnt. Follow the onscreen instructions. Complete the Sign up now screen. Section B: Ethernet (wired) network B1 Connect the Ethernet cle Remove the yellow plug from the ck of the device. Connect one end of the Ethernet cle to the Ethernet port on the ck of the device. c Connect the other end of the Ethernet cle to the hu/ router/switch. If the cle is not long enough, you cn purchse longer cle. Importnt: Do not connect the Ethernet cle to cle modem. c You must hve working network. If you lredy connected the USB cle, do not connect the Ethernet cle. HP All-in-One 9

B3 Instll softwre on dditionl computers If you hve dditionl computers on your network, instll the HP All-in-One softwre on ech computer. Choose the correct HP All-in-One CD for ech instlltion. Follow the onscreen instructions. Mke sure tht you choose the connection type etween the network nd your HP All-in-One (not etween your computer nd the network). B4 Go to ck of the guide to mke test copy Trouleshooting Prolem: A Pper Jm messge ppers. Action: Remove the ck ccess door, nd then gently pull out ny pper. Turn the device off, nd then on. Lod the pper gin. Prolem: You did not see the screen prompting you to connect the USB cle. Action: Remove, nd then re-insert the HP All-in-One Windows CD. Refer to Section A. Prolem: The Microsoft Add Hrdwre screen ppers. Action: Click Cncel. Unplug the USB cle, nd then insert the HP All-in-One Windows CD. Refer to Section A. Prolem: The Device Setup Hs Filed To Complete screen ppers. Action: Verify tht the control pnel fceplte is firmly ttched. Unplug the HP All-in-One nd plug it in gin. Check ll connections. Mke sure the USB cle is plugged into the computer. Do not plug the USB cle into keyord or nonpowered hu. Refer to Section A. HP All-in-One 11

Mke copy of fvorite photo nd see the new copy preview feture. 1 1 Find 4 x 6 in (10 x 15 cm) photo. 2 2 Plce the photo (fce down) on the right front corner of the glss. Mke sure the long edge of the photo is long the front of the glss. Close the lid. 3 3 Mke sure you hve the photo pper loded in the pper try (see pge 2), nd then press the Copy utton. Copy 4 4 Press the Photo Try utton. The device scns the photo, nd then shows preview on the color grphics disply. Photo Try 5 5 Press the Strt Color utton.
