8 RETRO NOTES:» Palpatine's balcony required a 3D cityscape in the background» Just the streams of tiny ship traffic took 3 computers about 3 days to render» Finally, all elements where composited into the final product below:

55 RETRO NOTES:» The battle droids and the AT-BT Anti-Personnel Walkers are elaborate, complex 3D models with high detail, so they looked nice in closeups» Both the battle droid and AT-BT models had IK joint structures which allowed the models to be positioned like puppets and keyframed, like when doing "walk" cycles» Without the benefit of high cost motion-capture rigs, the animations had to be painstakingly keyframed by hand
