1 Plesk Onyx Control Panel Technical Description Introduction to your Plesk Onyx Control Panel A good control panel will simplify the management of your server by making it easy to get started with your digital projects, with just a few clicks in a friendly web interface you can perform most administration tasks on your server which might otherwise require strong technical skills to complete. Systems administration done correctly and within a reasonable timeframe can be challenging for a human being, Plesk Onyx makes it easy and fast. SERVICE OVERVIEW Plesk Onyx Control Panel software provided by Cogeco Peer 1 is an optional software element that can be installed on Windows and Linux server operating systems to help simplify routine configuration tasks normally associated with running a dedicated server solution. Plesk is a control panel software developed by Plesk International GMBH: Key benefits: Full server control through an intuitive dashboard Plesk integrates with the operating system, core services and a comprehensive list of third party extensions installed on your server, allowing all functions to be easily configured through a friendly web interface. Role management - Plesk allows you to managed key roles running on your server that are needed to maintain your online digital presence including, but not limited to; databases, web servers, and domain management. Plesk mobile manager access and manage your Plesk environment on the go from your ios or Android device. User and security management Role based access control and security management for your server. SEO toolkit Improve your website search engine rankings with the built in Plesk SEO toolkit. Simple upgrade paths and built in migration tool Plesk 11 and 12 can be upgraded to Plesk Onyx directly. Earlier versions will require a server migration - the Plesk migrator tool simplifies the task by transferring subscriptions, customer and reseller accounts and services from one server to another. Multi-tenant and reseller capable Plesk Web Pro is designed to support multiple end customers on the same server, each with their own subscription and customer account. Web Host goes a step further and offers reseller accounts for scenarios where your customers wish to resell your hosting services.

2 PLESK EDITIONS There is an edition of Plesk available for everyone: Plesk Web Admin Offers basic management of simple websites and domains. This edition has a limit of 10 domains. Plesk Web Pro Provides a higher level of flexibility required to run and secure highly optimised websites. This edition includes an extensive feature set, including the full WordPress Toolkit, to automate your projects and mass-manage websites. This edition has a limit of 30 domains. Plesk Web Host The most extensive edition, aimed at Web Hosters who want to sell to resellers. Providing all the features of Web Pro in a multi-tenant environment that you can provide access to your resale customers so they can fully manage their own end customers. This edition has no domain limitations (unlimited). 3 PLESK FEATURE PACKS The following optional feature licenses are available for Plesk: Plesk Power Pack The Plesk Power Pack includes a combination of the following features: Kaspersky Antivirus for 5 mailboxes Docker Remote Node Management DNSSEC WordPress Toolkit Smarter Mail Remote Control PostgreSQL and Microsoft SQL management modules Web Presence Builder for 10 sites The Apache Tomcat feature is now deprecated and is only available in Plesk Onyx 17.5 and earlier. Additional Language Pack Plesk includes a choice of languages by default, but only allows one to be used at a time. The Additional Language Pack allows you to install and run additional languages at the same time. The choice of languages available can be found here: Security Pack with Premium Antivirus for Linux The security pack includes Plesk Premium antivirus by Dr. Web for Linux - the award winning virus scanning and filtering software for you mailboxes, and MagicSpam which provides spam protection within the SMTP layer. Premium Antivirus for Windows The Premium Antivirus by Dr. Web for Windows provides virus scanning and filtering on your mailboxes.

4 LIMITATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS Please note the following important notes relating to Plesk Onyx: The level of support received will be determined by the service level subscribed to on the server that Plesk is installed on (i.e. Dedicated Hosting or Managed Hosting). Appendix B describes the supported activities for each service level. Plesk configuration assistance and support is limited to servers with software (including Plesk) and Operating systems provided by Cogeco Peer 1 and where they are not an End of Life (EOL) version. Major version upgrades of Plesk (e.g. from v11.x to v12.x or Onyx) and Plesk migrations between servers are considered major solution upgrade activities and will need to be scoped as a Professional Services engagement. Modifications made outside of the Plesk control panel to the operating system and it s installed software components create risk of failure to the Plesk control panel as Plesk may not recognise the changes made. Should modifications be made outside of the control panel that break the Plesk configuration it may be required to re-provision the server to restore functionality. Any additional requests relating to elements outside of the pre-installed components and software in the solution will be considered a Professional Services activity and quoted for separately. APPENDIX A - FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Can you add or remove Plesk on an existing server? Due to the way Plesk integrates with the operating system and installed roles, it is not recommended to install or remove Plesk manually on an existing server, Cogeco Peer 1 recommends deploying a new server with Plesk preinstalled if the control panel is needed, or a deployment of a new server without Plesk if you no longer wish to use this software. Are third party Plesk extensions supported in Managed Hosting solutions? Managed Hosting support can only be provided for Plesk licenses and extensions supplied by Cogeco Peer 1. Which services can Cogeco Peer 1 supply Plesk on? Plesk licenses and software is available for purchase on Windows, Red Hat and CentOS servers within the Managed Hosting and Dedicated Hosting lines of business. Which versions of Plesk are supportable? Currently the status of Plesk versions provided by Cogeco Peer 1 are as follows: Plesk v11 and older End of Life products to receive support customers need to upgrade to a supported version of Plesk. Plesk v12 End of Sale product customers are no longer able to purchase this version of Plesk from Cogeco Peer 1. Support is available until January 1st 2019, after this date the product will enter End of Life status. To receive support after January 1st 2019 customers need to upgrade to a supported version of Plesk. Plesk Onyx Active product Customers are able to purchase this product and it is supported by Cogeco Peer 1. Can you help me upgrade my Plesk version and/or migrate my Plesk configuration to a new server? 5 APPENDIX B - RESPONSIBILITIES MATRIX Reducing risk and setting clear expectations around the roles and responsibilities is key to a successful management of your solution. The responsibilities matrix below denotes where Cogeco Peer 1 or the customer will be responsible for the activities relating to the Plesk control panel in your solution. Configuration assistance and troubleshooting of Plesk control panel functionality and features (in line with the supported Operating System and Software elements defined in the Managed Hosting Service Guide). Support for minor version upgrades (e.g to 17.8) on Cogeco Peer 1 supplied Plesk control panels. Major release upgrades (e.g. 12.x to 17.x) for Cogeco Peer 1 supplied Plesk control panels, when new versions are purchased. Manual Plesk control panel installation. Installation of third-party add-ons not supplied with the Plesk control panel. Modifications of controlled elements outside of the Plesk control panel (i.e. directly through the operating system).
