1 A Point-in-Time (PIT) count provides a snapshot of homelessness by interviewing those who are homeless at a particular time. The Metropolitan Denver Homeless Initiative (MDHI) conducted a PIT study of people experiencing homelessness in the seven-county metropolitan area with the help of volunteers, service providers, staff, and outreach workers on Monday January 30, Of the 4,019 respondents surveyed metro-wide, 480 reported staying in Boulder County on January 30, Of the 5,116 all homeless reported metro-wide, 600 were reported as staying in Boulder County. Demographics Boulder County: Age/Gender (All Homeless) Age Gender Frequency Frequency Under Female Male Transgender Don t Identify Missing Total Missing Mean age 41 Median age 42 Households with children: 52 respondent households (157 total homeless) Households without children: 428 respondent households (443 total homeless) Newly Homeless: 134 respondent households Boulder County: Subpopulations (Respondents) Chronically Homeless: 124 respondent households Veterans: 43 respondent households Unaccompanied youth: 65 respondent households A Point-In-Time survey was conducted during the week of January 30 th 2017 by MDHI and Metro stakeholders. This overview provides data collected from transitional housing programs in HMIS as well as from the survey itself. Please note that not all survey questions received responses and chart data may not equal the total numbers for the county.
