2 SPECIFICTIONS Plating Specifications: Electroplating: (Gold & ntique Finishes) Jewelery grade 23k gold (other precious metals) applied to sunglass parts (7 mils) through a proprietary electroplating process and a clear e-coat is applied to prevent resistance to the elements. ntique finishes go through a multi-step process involving electroplating, hand brushing and the application of a clear e-coat. right Chrome Plating: Chrome is plated over bright nickel where a hard, decorative finish is desired. The chrome provides surface hardness while the nickel provides luster. The combination has good corrosion protection and excellent wear resistance. It is used for optical components and other industries. Matte Chrome Plating: Chrome is plated over matte nickel to achieve a hard, uniform finish that is semi-lustrous with low reflectivity. It is also referred to as pearl or velour chrome; it does not have the lines or grainy appearance found in traditional satin nickel/chrome finishes. Matte nickel/ chrome is used in optical components and other industries. lack Chrome Plating used as base plate for Matte lack E-Coat: lack chrome is usually plated over bright nickel or matte nickel in the same manner as decorative chrome. lack chrome is not quite as hard or wear resistant as normal nickel/chrome and it is not lustrous. Glass lenses offer the best scratch resistant properties of all lens materials. Glass lenses are chem-tempered to resist breakage; then 100% drop-ball tested to meet FD and NSI standards (glass lenses are not shatterproof). Polycarbonate (PC): polycarbonate lenses are impact-resistant, providing eye protection. Polycarbonate lenses also block 100 percent of the sun s UV rays. If a polycarbonate lens is hit with force, it will not shatter, but rather mold in and remain together.
