2 DATA RECORDING MODES This guide provides first-time users with essential information on recording data with the Specim IQ. Main setup information, different data recording flows and essential after recording phases will be presented. This page introduces White Reference and different data recording modes. WHITE REFERENCE To ensure a good data quality and maximal performance of your Specim IQ, you must always include White Reference () in your data recording flow. Three different methods are presented in this guide, Simultaneous, Customized and Pre-Defined. DRM ASM Default Recording Mode (DRM) is a device mode to collect raw, unprocessed data. Below is a visualization of the data recording flow with DRM and Simultaneous. Automatic Screening Mode (ASM) is a device mode to identify similarities from the recorded data. The desired material can be chosen to function as a class that can classify similiar materials from the data. In this mode, the class is first defined and then used for identification. Below is a visualization of the data recording flow with ASM and Simultaneous. panel Simult. Custom panel is included and defined from the recorded data. panel is recorded before the actual data recording. AM Application Mode (AM) is a created mode to collect data which is processed in a desirable way. Applications are created in the Specim IQ Studio. Below is a visualization of the data recording flow with AM and Simultaneous. Pre-def. Preset settings to match the most common recording environment illuminations.
