3 1 Overview This document provides bar codes to reset the N5680 Imaging Scanner to its default settings. There are three configurations. RS232 COM Port Emulation (USB Serial) USB IBM SurePOS (Handheld 4B) USB Keyboard (PC) The document also provides instructions about how to manually reset the imager. 7 5 Resetting the Imager If the N5680 imager is not responding, and there are no LEDʹs lit, it may be because the imager has been reset to the Honeywell factory defaults, which puts the imager in the Manual Trigger Mode. In this mode the imager will not scan unless the manual trigger is activated. To activate the manual trigger, the imager must be opened and two pins on the interface board must be shorted together, which causes the imager to scan. The following instructions tell how to open the imager and activate the manual trigger so that one of the NCR default configuration barcodes in this document can be scanned to put the imager in a known configuration state. 1. Place a flat blade screwdriver under the black housing, near the rear mounting hole. Using a push down and twisting motion of the screwdriver, pry the inner clear housing out of the outer black housing Remove the imager components from the cabinet Place the module on a flat surface with the Interface Board facing up. 4. Plug the USB cable into the imager to power it up.

8 6 5. While holding a configuration bar code up to the imager short pins 1 and 2 on the Interface Board. This causes the manual trigger to activate and scan the bar code. Middle Pair of Pins Configuration Bar Code Replace the imager module in the cabinet. 7. The imager is ready to use.
