1 exacqvision Platesmart Integration Guide Requirements The Platesmart integration works with any exacqvision system. This document assumes that the exacqvision server and the Platesmart LPR processors are both installed and running. Minimum software requirements: exacqvision version 5.6 or later Platesmart version.5.0. or later Certified Server Application The Platesmart application is certified to run on exacqvision A Series and Z Series servers. Please note the following information for optimal performance: exacqvision A Series Installation Notes A local exacqvision Client should not be used on the system except for troubleshooting server problems. Install the Platesmart application on the operating system drive. IIS is used for the Platesmart application, so you might need to change the port on which the exacqvision Web Service is running to avoid conflicts. Configure the cameras to be used for LPR at a resolution of 800x600. The frames per second should be no more than five, either through the camera or by frame skipping in the Platesmart application. When using multi-stream cameras, use a secondary stream for the LPR feed with these settings. Configure the Platesmart application to use motion to minimize CPU load. Loading the server with more LPR cameras is not possible as there will be no room left on the OS drive and no CPU headroom left to process the camera analytics. exacqvision Z Series Installation Notes A local exacqvision Client should not be used on the system except for troubleshooting server problems. Install the Platesmart application on the operating system drive. The Platesmart LPR Processors should be installed on the data drive. IIS is used for the Platesmart application, so you might need to change the port on which the exacqvision Web Service is running to avoid conflicts. The rated 400Mbps disk throughput is affected, so limit camera throughput to 360Mbps to allow writes to the data disk from the Platesmart LPR Processors. A total of 0 of the 8 cameras can be configured for use with the Platesmart LPR application. 2 Platesmart Configuration. Click on VMS Servers.. Click on Add under the Listings page to display the VMS Information Edit Sheet.. Enter a VMS Name.. Select Exacq as the VMS Type. 3. Enter the exacqvision Server IP. 4. Enter a Metadata Port. This is used in the exacqvision Serial Port configuration to receive plate information and alerts. 5. Enter the API Port. By default, this is 609 for an exacqvision server. 6. Enter a qualified exacqvision server user for API User Name. 7. Enter a qualified exacqvision server user password for API Password. 8. 3 The exacqvision server has now been added, and cameras need to be defined.. Click on Cameras under the Customer account to display the Cameras page.. Click Add to display the Camera Information Edit Sheet. 3. Enter a Name for the camera. 4. Select the VMS Association. This will be the exacqvision server configured previously. 5. Select the Location from the drop-down box. 6. Select the Operation Mode from the drop-down box. 7. Enter a Serial Number. This field is optional and is not critical to operation. 8. Enter a Camera Gate ID. This specifies if a camera is tied to a Gate Configuration. 9. Click Discover Camera to display the camera list Europe/Middle East/Asia Page 3 of 6

4 0. Select the exacqvision camera you want. The ID and name of the camera in the exacqvision server is displayed.. Click Save. 0 NOTE: Platesmart software should be able to work with any exacqvision cameras that can be set to a resolution of 800x600 with at least four frames per second. Lighting requirements will also need to be considered. Please contact Platesmart for any questions about your current cameras and their use with their application. 5 3 exacqvision Configuration. On the exacqvision server, select Serial Profiles from the tree.. Click the New button under Existing Profiles. 3. Enter a new Profile Name, such as Platesmart. 4. Click Apply On the exacqvision server, select Serial Ports from the tree. 6. In the Use column, select POS. 7. In the Name column, select a name such as Platesmart. 8. In the Profile column, select the profile name previously created. 9. In the Type, column select TCP. 0. In the Address column, enter the address of the exacqvision server if Platesmart is running on the server; otherwise, enter the address of the Platesmart server.. In the Port column, enter the Metadata port identified previously.. Enter 00 in the Max Line Length column. 3. Enter > in the Line Ending column. 4. Enter 0 in the Timeout column. 6 5. Click on the Live Page icon in the exacqvision menu bar: 6. Double-click the name of the profile you created in step 6 to display it in the panel. 7. Double-click on the camera for the traffic lane the plate information correlates to. 8. You should now see scrolling plate information overlaid on the live traffic lane camera. NOTE: To see the data in the format below, you will need to apply some formatting in the serial profile.
