MOTION CONTROL designed and manufactured by FloatCam TM Motion Control is an electronic Remote Controller with Stepper Motor designed to control the camera movement. 1. Socket (Lemo 9 pin) for cable to connect the stepper motor to the Remote Controller 2. Socket (mini Canon 3 pin) for cable to control shutter and exposure of DSLR camera 3. Right direction button 4. Left direction button 5. LCD display 6. Menu button 7. Control buttons 8. Ramping knob (acceleration and decceleration of the camera) 9. Speed range knob 10. Speed knob Motion Control comes with factory presets to control camera movement. These presets can be changed by users. It is possible to move camera manually or to program the movement. Every movement manual or programed can be recorded and stored into memory. There are 9 persistant banks plus 1 volatile bank to store the movements. Every movement can be repeated up to 999 times and extended up to 99 times. So it is possible to make a lot of movements or timelapses. For DSLR cameras it is possible to control shutter and exposure from Remote Controller. For that function use DSLR camera control cable.
MOTION CONTROL STEP-BY-STEP START WINDOW Program version Serial number DEVICE CALIBRATION Move the carriage (camera) to the middle of the rail Sometimes it may happen that the Stepper Motor losts steps during moving with too heavy camera or when the carrige (camera) will be accidentally locked. In such case it is neccessary to recalibrate the device.
SETUP In SETUP we set the carriage (camera) position, ramping and speed range. For SETUP press SPEED MODE Press for the movement direction: - to the right - to the left SPEED MODE - start speed in the middle position of the knob
DISTANCE LIMIT There are factory presets to avoid hitting the carriage (camera) to the end of the rail. It is possible to set own left and right virtual ends of the rail. Set SPEED MODE Setting LEFT virtual end Move the carriage (camera) to the left limit position which will be left virtual end Left virtual end at e.g. 75 cm (remember about 0.5 till 3 cm of the carriage inertia) Accept LEFT
Setting RIGHT virtual end Move the carriage (camera) to the right limit position which will be right virtual end Right virtual end e.g. 75 cm (remember about 0.5 till 3 cm of the carriage inertia) Accept RIGHT Set ON active DISTANCE LIMIT Set OFF inactive DISTANCE LIMIT

LIVE MOTION RECORDS Motion Control is capable of recording live (real time) movements. The movements can be recorded into 10 banks (9 banks of persistant memory and 1 bank of volatile memory - which is reset after power cut off). Press O to start record movement of the carriage (camera) To stop press O. Than press MENU button to record to the memory Accept SAVE to the bank 1-9 Accept
LIVE MOTION PLAY Recorded movement can be played back in real time or as repeated and extended movement. Extended movements are useful for demanding timelapses, stop motions or real time shots. Every recorded movement can be repeated up to 999 times and extended up to 99 times. Read recorded movement from the memory bank 1-9 Press > to move the carriage (camera) to the start position Press > to start single movement or repeated movement (if set REPEAT movement) or extended / repeated movement (if set EXTEND/REPEAT movement)
TIMELAPSE CONTINUOUS Timelapse Continuous mode allows for continuous movement film or DSLR camera. In this mode it is possible to set total movement time, number of shots and control shutter and exposure of DSLR camera. The exposure time works effectively only if DSLR camera is set to bulb exposure mode. To control exposure by the camera, set the exposure time of Motion Control to 0.3 sec. and set camera to non-bulb mode. It is also possible to trigger multiple image sequences from Motion Control. It is especially useful for shooting HDR, exposure-bracketed timelapse or multiple constant-exposure shots for noise reduction in post production. To do so, set camera to continuous shooting mode and set the exposure bracketing as desired. In Remote Controller set the total exposure time to exceed slightly the total time of multiply exposures of DSLR camera. Timelapse Continuos has two possibilities of setting the TRACK: 1. manually set start and stop position 2. read recorded movement from the memory Accept TRACK set manually - start and stop position TRACK read from the memory e.g. bank 9
TRACK SET MANUALLY Set TRACK manualy Set number of SHOTS for DSLR cameras Set EXPOSURE for bulb mode for DSLR cameras Set START POSITION (e.g. 70 cm left from the middle of the rail) Set STOP POSITION (e.g. 50 cm right from the middle of the rail) Set WORK TIME (e.g. 10 sec.) Movement with set ramping for fast movements. It is possible to TEST the set carriage (camera) movement with factory speed or start to play by pressing V
Single movement Repeated movement (if set REPEAT) Movement without ramping for slow movements Single movement Repeated movement (if set REPEAT)
TRACK READ FROM MEMORY Read TRACK from the memory e.g. bank 9. Set SHOTS number for DSLR cameras Set Exposure for bulb mode for DSLR cameras It is possible to TEST the set carriage (camera) movement with factory speed or start to play movement by pressing V Single movement Repeated movement (if set REPEAT)
TIMELAPSE SHOT-AFTER-SHOT Timelapse Shot-After-Shot works similarly to the continuous timelapse mode, but the camera stops before each shot. Accept Set number of SHOTS Set EXPOSURE for bulb bode for DSLR camera Set START POSITION (e.g. 70 cm ) Set STOP POSITION (e.g. 50 cm) Set WORK TIME (till 99h:59 min:59 sec.) It is possible to TEST the set carriage (camera) movement with factory speed
Single movement Repeated movements (if set REPEAT)
STOP MOTION DISTANCE Stop Motion Mode allows to program distance between each shot with 0.1mm accuracy. Every step and shot is initiated manually. Set SPEED MODE to >II Accept Set the carriage (camera) at the start position. Set DISTANCE Press >II or II< Camera moves programmed distance. and then press one time or a few times to make a few shots in this same position of the camera Next press >II or III< and then press do next shot or shots to
STOP MOTION SHOTS Stop Motion Shots mode of the camera moves with factory set speed and takes programmed number of the shots. Accept Set START and STOP POSITION Set number of SHOTS Set EXPOSURE for bulb mode for DSLR cameras It is possible to TEST the set carriage (camera) movement with factory speed
