2 page 02 infinirec Continuous Video RECording for dslrs Operating Manual This device helps you to overcome the time limitation on the videos you make with your dslr camera. In most countries, dslr cameras makers are legal bound to limit the continuous video recording of their cameras to 30 min (or 20 min in some camera brands). That is OK when you shoot small clips. But what about when you are filming a show, a concert, or you want to shoot yourself when your band plays for example? infinirec helps you break that limitation. There is one infinirec remote Model for each major Camera brand Check compatibility list at the website. If your model isn t listed, contact us to build you a custom infinirec just your you. How does infinirec remote works? Well, when your camera is recording and right about when your camera is reaching the time limitation, infinirec orders your camera to stop recording, and then orders it to start recording again. That way you can film for hours, until your cameras battery dies or your card gets full. Yes, you loose a few seconds between clips, but you still get endless recording with your camera so you don t miss the whole show! :) This package includes: - 1 x infinirec remote (one of its models); - this Operating Manual; - 1x CR2032 battery already installed. INTERFACE: - infinirec has one MODE button on the front; - infinirec has one POWER SWITCH on the back; - infinirec has one RED/BLUE Status light on the front; - infinirec has one infrared LED emiter on top.

3 page 03 QUICKSTART: infinirec remote going to infinity! 1- REMOTE MODE ON YOUR CAMERA First you must set your camera to REMOTE MODE. infinirec works with infrared signals, so you must turn that setting ON in your camera. Refer to your cameras manual to set REMOTE MODE ON (or Remote Cdr ) 2- PLACEMENT OF THE REMOTE infinirec remote must be placed in direct view of your cameras infrared port (normally in front of the camera). 3- Turn it ON and GO! - Flip the power button on the back of the remote. The remote will flash RED fast a couple of times, and then will stay a solid RED color. RED is the color of Normal Operating Mode. - Press MODE button once, and that is it! The remote will flash for a couple of seconds to give you time to place the remote in position, and it will then trigger your camera to start recording video. The remote will blink RED once a second when your camera is recording to give you a visual aid of its status. With its factory settings, infinirec will order your camera to: - start recording a clip and film for 29 minutes (19 min in NK model); - stop the recording, and waits 10 seconds for the camera to store the clip; - start the recording again for another 29 min clip; - stop the recording, and waits 10 seconds for the camera to store the clip;. and so on in a loop until you turn off the remote. DELAYED START Either you are shooting yourself playing in a band, or a video blog, or you need time to get to the action scene, you may need to start video recording not right away, but in a couple of minutes. The time it takes from setting your camera, and get yourself on stage, on top of a cliff, or

4 page 04 wherever you need to be to be filmed on. For those situations you can trigger the Delayed Start function. The Delayed Start function is DISABLED by default and can be turned ON in the SETTINGS MODE. SETTINGS MODE - CUSTOMIZING SETTINGS Of course you can change the factory settings delay values to the ones you prefer. If your camera is prone to overheating, maybe a 30 min clip is too long, and you prefer shorter clips. If you have a fast card, you don t need to wait 10 seconds for the new clip to start. You can reduce that delay too. in SETTGINS MODE you can change: - the amount of minutes long each clip has; - the amount of seconds infinirec waits before ordering a new clip; - turn ON the Delayed Start function, and set its amount of minutes. ENTER SETTINGS MODE - To enter in SETTINGS MODE: With the unit OFF, press and HOLD the MODE button on the front. Flip the power switch in the back while holding the MODE button on the front. Then release MODE button. infinirec will flash a fast BLUE light signaling it s awaiting your command. You know you are in SETTINGS MODE every time the light is BLUE. SETTINGS MODE MENU While in SETTINGS MODE (BLUE fast flashing light), you have 3 menu items. : 1- Clips duration (set in minutes. 29 min by default or 19 in NK Model) 2- Delay Between Clips (set in seconds. 10 sec by default) 3- Delayed Start duration (set in minutes. Zero by default=off) You select each menu item by the number of times you press the MODE button. 1, 2 or 3 times for 1st, 2nd or 3rd menu item.

5 page 05 1 Clips Duration (29 min by default, 19 in NK model) Setting in MINUTES. - in SETTINGS MODE (light is fast flashing BLUE), press mode button ONCE. Light will blink ONCE to acknowledge MENU 1 option: Clips Duration. Light will then flash slower awaiting your input. How do you input the number of MINUTES you want the clips to last? - Press and HOLD mode button. Light will flash once a second while you hold MODE button. Each light flash equals 1 MINUTE of Clips Duration. So if you hold for 10 seconds (Light will flash 10 times), you will set Clips Duration to 10 MINUTES. - when you ve waited the number of flashes (minutes) you need, just release MODE button. Light will be back to fast flash and Clips Duration has been set to the desired value. - you can now turn OFF the infinirec remote to exit SETTINGS MODE, or select another SETTINGS MENU item. 2 Delay Between Clips (10 sec by default) Setting in SECONDS. - in SETTINGS MODE (light is fast flashing BLUE),press mode button TWICE. Light will blink TWICE to acknowledge MENU 2 option: Delay Between Clips. Light will then flash slower awaiting your input. How do you input the number of SECONDS you want the clips to last? - Press and HOLD mode button. Light will flash once a second while you hold MODE button. Each light flash equals 1 SECOND of Delay Between Clips. So if you hold for 10 seconds (Light will flash 10 times), you will set Delay Between Clips to 10 SECONDS. - when you ve waited the number of flashes (seconds) you need, just release MODE button. Light will be back to fast flash and Clips Duration has been set to the desired value. - you can now turn OFF the infinirec remote to exit SETTINGS MODE, or select another SETTINGS MENU item.

6 page 06 3 Delayed Start (Zero by default=off) Setting in MINUTES. Delayed Start is set to Zero by default. By setting a value for it, you will turn it ON. To set it OFF again, you must Reset the Device to its Default Settings. To set a value to Delayed Start (in MINUTES): - in SETTINGS MODE (led is fast flashing BLUE), press mode button 3x TIMES. Light will blink 3x TIMES to acknowledge MENU 3 option: Delayed Start. Light will then flash slower awaiting your input. How do you input the number of MINUTES you want the clips to last? - Press and HOLD mode button. Light will flash once a second while you hold MODE button. Each light flash equals 1 MINUTE of Delayed Start. So if you hold for 10 seconds (Light will flash 10 times), you will set Clips Duration to 10 MINUTES. - when you ve waited the number of flashes (minutes) you need, just release MODE button. Light will be back to fast flash and Clips Duration has been set to the desired value. - you can now turn OFF the infinirec remote to exit SETTINGS MODE, or select another SETTINGS MENU item. EXIT SETTINGS MODE To exit Settings Mode at any time and get back to Normal Operating Mode, just turn OFF the device, and ON again. The light will flip from BLUE to RED. Normal Operating Mode is indicated by the RED light. RESET TO FACTORY SETTINGS You can reset the values to factory settings at any time. This is useful to turn OFF Delayed Start mode, or if you just want a shortcut to the default values and don t want to set everything individually. To RESET TO FACTORY SETTINGS: with the infinirec remote OFF, you just need to flip the power switch ON and OFF 3x times. Then, turn it ON again. You will see the light flash RED and BLUE a couple of seconds. When it stops flashing and the light stays solid RED, the reset is done, and all the settings are set to their default values.

7 page 07 Default Values after RESET are: - Clips Duration: 29 min by default (19 on NK model); - Delay Between Clips: 10 sec by default; - Delayed Start: Zero by default = OFF LIMITS ON VALUES SET There is no virtual limit to the amount of time you can set in Clips Duration, Delay Between Clips, and Delayed Start values. But you have to set the according to your camera. If you camera shuts off after 30 min of video, there is no point on setting Clips Duration longer that that. The camera will loose sync with the remote. Also you can set an infinite value of Delayed Start, and use the remote as just a Delayed Start device, but some cameras turn them self off, if they don t receive an infrared signal for some time, so remember that when trying new values for it. REPLACING BATTERIES infinirec remote works with 1x CR2032 button type battery. When the battery gets weaker, your remote may still flash lights, but it will have no more power to trigger your camera. If this is a symptom, then its time to replace the battery. To replace the battery: - hold your remote facing you, with both hands, thumbs on the top panel. - flip the panel UP, and it will slide UP. Open carefully, there are wired connoting the lid to the rest of the case. The battery will be in the bottom part of the case. - use a small flat screw driver, or the tip of your fingernail to push the small metal prong protruding over the side of the battery. This will release the battery. - Replace with a new battery of the same type, and place it with the same orientation of the old battery: + side up. - close the lid reversing the process. That is it! Remember to turn OFF your remote when not in use, and your battery will last a lot longer. BMMK-MAN-AST0213

8 page 08 TROUBLESHOOT - If your remote is not responding properly or you thing the settings are wrong, first you should RESET TO FACTORY SETTINGS. If that did not work, and you see the remote flashing, but your camera is not responding, check if your camera is in REMOTE MODE (Remote Cdr.). - If the problem persists, try a fresh battery. When the battery gets weaker, your remote may still flash lights, but it will have no more power to trigger your camera. - If your cameras looses sync with the remote, and the movie clips are not the size they should be: check if there is no obstruction between the camera IR port and the remote. Also check the settings on your remote, to see they don t overcome the time limits of your camera. IF your camera is OFF in the middle of a recording, then if probably overheated. Extend Delay Between Clips set value, and shorten Clips Duration value to accommodate your cameras temperature threshold. - Check if your camera has the latest firmware installed. If not, download it from your cameras brnad website and install it.
