1 How to check the location, status and usage of AnyNet Secure SIMs on AWS IoT The Eseye AWS IoT integration enables look-up of SIM card usage and location by pushing device updates to your AWS IoT Cloud. These metadata updates are displayed in the AWS IoT Device Shadow. This document provides information on how the AnyNet Secure Shadow works and has a number of sections: 1. How to check the metadata in the Device Shadow Understanding the Shadow How to manually request an update to the metadata in the Device Shadow How to check the metadata in the Device Shadow Open your AWS IoT Console and navigate to the Manage > Things page. Your thing(s) should be listed in the Things section. Click on a thing name to view the Thing > Details page r.2 Page 1

2 Click on the highlighted Shadow option on the left side. The Shadow is now displayed, for more details on the attributes displayed in the Shadow please use the relevant section of this guide r.2 Page 2

3 2. Understanding the Shadow The Shadow details the following attributes: Status - This field determines the state of SIM card. The available options are; 'provisioned', 'unprovisioned', 'pendingprovision', 'pendingdeprovision', 'suspended', 'disabled', 'available', 'cancelled', and 'deleted'. MSISDN - This displays the Mobile Station International Subscriber Directory Number (MSISDN) of the SIM card. Package_id - This field defines the numerical code of the payment details of the SIM. It is enclosed by speech marks. Message allowance - This field displays the total free messages provided on the SIM. Message remaining - This field displays the remaining number of free messages. Certificate_update allowance - This field displays the total free certificate updates provided on the SIM. Certifcate_update remaining - This field displays the remaining number of free certificate updates. Location Lat - This field displays the geographic latitude of the last cell tower that the SIM connected to. Location Lon - This field displays the geographic longitude of the last cell tower that the SIM connected to. Location MCC - This field displays the Mobile Country Code of the last cell tower that the SIM connected to. (a lookup table is found at: Location MNC - This field displays the Mobile Network Code of the last cell tower that the SIM connected to. (a lookup table is found at: Log - This displays the most recent updates made to the SIM. Certificate Delivery Status* - This field shows the state of the certificate delivery. The available options are; Sending, Delivered, or Error. Certificate Delivery When sent* - This field show the date and time of the campaign delivery request, in the format: YYYY-MM-DD hh:mm:ss Certificate Delivery When delivered* - Only displayed if the status is Delivered, the format for this date and time is YYYY-MM-DD hh:mm:ss Certificate Delivery Campaign Progress* - Only displayed if the status is Sending, the value is a percentage, with 100% being completed. *Please note that the Certificate Delivery attributes are not returned when the Shadow is requested manually as described in section r.2 Page 3

5 3. How to manually request an update to the metadata in the Device Shadow Should you need an urgent update to the Device Shadow the following section details how to manually request an update. Open your AWS IoT Console and navigate to the Manage > Things page. Your thing(s) should be listed in the Things section. Click on a thing name to view the details. The Thing Details page will appear. Click on the highlighted Edit button in the top right. Under the Set Searchable thing attributes (optional) set the highlighted value for the ActionRequest to: ObtainMetadata Click the highlighted Update button 8496 r.2 Page 5

Click on the highlighted Shadow option The Shadow will now have been updated and be displayed, for more details on the attributes displayed in the Shadow please use the relevant section of this guide.
