Texas A&M Transportation Institute, April STUDIES HAVE SHOWN THAT TALKING ON A CELL PHONE CREATES RISKS SIMILAR TO DRIVING WITH A.08 BLOOD ALCOHOL LEVEL Driving with a blood alcohol level of.08 results in a 4x greater likelihood of being in a crash Driving while talking on a cell phone results in a 4x greater likelihood of being in a crash Drews and Strayer (2003).
