3 Wireless Service Audit Items Obtain ALL wireless rate plans available, then examine 2-3 months bills for: Data plans Late charges Overage charges Airtime/feature plans Insurance plans on phones Radio/direct-connect plans User assignment/identification Long-distance/roaming charges. Text plans and premium charges Pooled minutes if plan is shared among users.

4 Wireless Service Audit Items Both the summary pages and detail pages are important for an audit. The summary pages of the bill allows for a quick review of all users. All potential problems or savings items can be investigated in the detail pages for each user.

5 Sprint Summary Bill Extra charges on the front page of the bill are critical to focus on when conducting an audit on wireless services.

7 at&t Summary Bill at&t only gives usage charges with no detail on the first page.

8 Discounts and Incentives Contracts determine the discounts and incentives a customer receives. Higher bills should have more discounts and incentives applied.

10 Management Report Information Usage reports identify calling charges that can be eliminated by an audit. The Account Management Reports can be used to quickly identified users with additional charges.

11 Pooling Detail Report at&t wireless allows unused minutes to be carried over to the following month, which may reduce costs.

13 Sprint Summary Bill The summary pages of the bill provide a quick assessment of additional charges: Shows the plan type. Identifies usage for each service. Provides charges on overages for all categories of service. Shows equipment purchases for current month. Gives directory assistance charges.

15 Verizon Summary Bill Without even knowing who users are on this account, it is easy to get a clear picture of usage from the summary portion of the bill.

16 Department Identifiers Grouping the bill by department, type of job, or other identifier, makes it easy to find employees not using their wireless devices.

17 Small Wireless Accounts Small wireless accounts have big savings opportunities and many questions to ask: 1. The first phone has data usage but no calling usage. 2. Why is there an equipment charge of over $1,000? 3. One user has a 3,000 minute plan and is only using 553 minutes. 4. What are the minute allowances for the third and fourth phones? 5. There are no discounts on this plan.

18 Summary Bill Sample Data Charge When two numbers are in the same column for one user, the first number is usage, and the second number shows charges. Three of these phones are paying overage charges for data services. The detail records are necessary to determine why there are data charges.

19 Detail Page Findings Discount percentages on detail pages should match contract. On shared plans with Sprint, usage charges are billed and then credited back from the pool of minutes. Data overage charges of $44.37 with no data plan.

Talk to users, not for permission, but to make sure what you have decided is appropriate. Display your data so others can understand the logic behind your decisions. Use monthly and annual savings for summary reports. Keep track of order numbers, due dates, and savings amounts.
