1 52 ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY CENTER (ATC) Pioneering in Educational Excellence The world of business and industry is a dynamic place, constantly changing and evolving every day. Ongoing, in-depth education based on current industry needs is critical requiring a new way of thinking in terms of production and quality versus quantity. The (ATC) Certificate programs support these learning needs with college-level courses designed to meet state-of-the-quality industry requirements. In association with the Office of Customized Training we provide training at our facilities or on site. Most programs can be completed in one year or less, and some courses can be applied toward a related degree program. ATC Certificate Programs are offered in the following areas: Electrical Journeyman Having a journeyman license while working on a constructor site is a city ordinance requirement. Students will gain electrical skills that measure up to industry's rapidly growing demand for journeyman electricians in the maintenance and construction fields. Industrial Maintenance Students who successfully complete the industrial maintenance training will be able to take on the challenges and demands of working on mobile and industrial machinery and equipment. Students will learn the technologies needed to perform the day to day operations. The topics include: shop safety, blueprint, electrical, mechanical, fluid power, computers, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) systems, and welding. Machining Technology Prepares the student to enter the metal trades industry. Topics include: blueprint reading, shop math, metrology, basic lathe, milling, surface grinding, computer numerical control (CNC), electrical discharge machine (EDM), programming, introduction of Computer Aided Drafting (CAD), and Computer Aided Manufacturing (/CAM). Quality Technology Prepares the student to enter the quality field as an inspector or advancement for quality technician position. Course topics included are shop math, metrology, interpretation of industrial drawings, non-destructive inspection and calibration. Registered Apprenticeship Students already employed will have an opportunity to enhance their job skills through the Registered Apprenticeship. Upon completion, the apprentice becomes a registered licensed journeyman. THE ATC OFFERS AN ASSOCIATE OF APPLIED SCIENCE (AAS) DEGREE IN MACHINING TECHNOLOGY Network Academy The Network Academy specializes in training for IT professionals and corporate departments requiring computer oriented training at all levels. Programs are all inclusive and are designed to obtain industry certifications such as Microsoft's MCP and MCSA, and MCSE, CompTIA's A+, N+, and INet+. All certification exams can be taken on site in our VUE Testing Center. Plastics Technology Students learn the most modern technologies, in molding and machine instrumentation, cavity-pressure control, statistical process control (SPC), and International Standards Organization (ISO). Students who successfully complete the program will be able to take on the challenges of the everchanging demands of precision and quality requirements of the plastics industry. FOR INFORMATION, PLEASE CONTACT GLORIA MILLER, INDUSTRIAL ASSESSMENT TESTING The ATC uses an assessment test for students entering the Industrial Maintenance program. Test includes: Fluid Power, Mechanical, Electrical, and Troubleshooting. For more information, contact Gloria Miller, or FAX , or at GloriaM@epcc.edu.
