4 Before You Enter Computer Lab Exam Room Please check where you will be writing your exam. The exam lists will be posted outside of all computer labs one hour before the start of the exam. You will need: photo ID pencil and eraser NOT allowed: electronics text or notes of any kind no food or drinks (not even water)

5 At the Start of the Exam: Once you are in your exam room, find your assigned computer as indicated on label of exam. Double check that you have been given the correct exam. Diploma Exams: You will need to fill out your personal information on the back of the exam. School code is Alberta Student Number is the 9 digit # on the label. (not your school ID) You need to sign the back of the exam.

6 Review the procedures outlined on the exam account instruction sheet. Computers will be already logged on to the exam account at the point of templates. You will select a template for first assignment. Use different templates for each assignment.

Be sure to include: Computer Station Number (sticker on monitor) INDEX number (6 digit #) NOT the school ID NOT Alberta Student Number Click Close Footer to get back to the main area to start writing. 8 During the Exam: Save assignments often and prior to printing. You may print at any time during the exam. It is very important to save prior to printing and you should not need to change the default printer you MUST click on the print icon to complete printing.

9 At the End of the Exam Raise your hand to request permission to print, and then the supervisor will bring you the printed copy. Students are not allowed to be walking around. Do not Log off until you have your printed copy at your station. For Diploma Exams: Staple the printed copies to the designated areas in the exam booklet immediately following the respective planning page for each assignment. For English, do not forget to identify the Literary Text used (for Critical/Analytical Response) on the back of the exam booklet. Make sure that all of your personal information is completed on the back of the booklet including your signature. Have supervisor confirm that all requirements have been met prior to leaving exam room.

10 Instructions for Exams in the GYM

11 NEW THIS SEMESTER: VERY IMPORTANT! You will enter the gym through the main floor gym doors by the PE office, and NOT through the bleachers as in the past. Before you line up to enter the gym, please check where you will be sitting. The seating plan will be located by room 134 one hour before the start of each exam.

12 Entering exam room and start of exam Line up along the main floor gym hallway You will need: Photo ID HB pencil and eraser Approved calculator for Math and Science Exams (they will be cleared once you are sitting in the gym) Water bottle (no label)

13 Items NOT ALLOWED in the gym: purses, back packs, bulky jackets pencil cases, calculator cases school texts or notes of ANY KIND any food or drinks other than water

14 Enter the room quietly and go directly to your assigned seat. There is no talking once you are in the exam room. You may enter an exam up to 1 hour after the start time. After one hour, there is no writing the exam. Place your photo ID at the top right of your desk. Do not open the test booklet until told to do so.

15 Listen to all instructions for the conduct of the exam. It is your responsibility to read all instruction in the exam booklet prior to starting your exam. (First 2-3 pages) No talking or communicating with other students is allowed while in the exam room. You cannot share materials. Ex. Eraser, calculator, etc.

16 Supervisors cannot clarify any questions, explain words or discuss the exam. You cannot leave your seat without permission. If you need assistance, raise your hand and wait for a supervisor to arrive, this includes leaving for the bathroom, to which you must be escorted.

17 Leaving the Exam When you do leave the exam room, do so quietly. Have respect for those others still working on their exam.

18 Violation of Exam Rules Could Result in: You being asked to leave the examination room Invalidation of diploma examination(s) or a zero being recorded for a non-diploma examination Being barred from writing a diploma examination for one year Official transcripts being withheld for one year An explanatory note being attached to your transcripts in this regard THERE IS ABSOLUTELY ZERO TOLERANCE FOR CHEATING!!!
