1 HR Florida 2008 Frequently Asked Questions Conference Recertification Thank you for attending HR Florida If you are a certified professional through the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI), this event has been approved for credits toward your recertification. In order to assist you in documenting your attendance, listed below are the commonly asked questions that we receive about recording recertification credits. How do I know the number of recertification credits that were awarded for the conference? If you attend all of the sessions, the conference provides 3.25 general recertification credits. In your conference program is a Program ID number from HRCI. When you enter the Program ID with the program dates in your recertification file, all of the information about the conference will be automatically filled. Please see below for information about how to list strategic sessions, international sessions and the masters series. 2. If I attended a pre-conference workshop, do I receive recertification credit? Yes, pre-conference workshops have their own Program ID number separate from the conference. The only pre-conference workshop that does not receive recertification credit is the Certification Prep Course (for obvious reasons.) 3. If I didn t attend all of the sessions, how would I record individual sessions? New in 2008, refer to the HRCI Recertification form sample for recording individual sessions. (Included in this file) General sessions, Management and Master Series sessions, etc. must be listed individually. See example at the end of the FAQ s. Remember that credit is awarded on an hour-for-hour basis, excluding meals, exhibit hall hours and any non HR-related sessions, such as those considered personal development. That means that each regular one-hour concurrent session is recertification credit. Master series session's are worth either 2 or 2.25 recertification credits (depending upon the day.)

2 If you login to the HR Florida website ( click on concurrent sessions (in the right navigation bar) and you can view the individual concurrent sessions and the corresponding recertification credit. 4. How do I know which sessions are approved for strategic management? Refer to the HRCI recertification form for the official credits. You may also logon to the HR Florida website at Select Concurrent Sessions 2. Tracks: Select Management 3. Level: Show All 5. If I attended both general and strategic sessions, how do I record it? (Each session has to be listed separately. Do not enter Program ID into the recertification record. To submit some of the conference sessions for strategic management credit, you will need to enter all sessions individually. Enter the conference name and dates where prompted. List the session titles, dates, times and HRCI recertification credit awarded where prompted for the session title. Please refer to the example at the end of the FAQ. 6. How do I record Master Series sessions? If you attended all of the master series, you will earn an extra.5 credit. Follow the same instructions as recording strategic management sessions. Enter each master series as a separate entry. Do not enter Program ID into the recertification record. Refer to the example at the end of the FAQ. 7. I attended Personal Development sessions that are not eligible for recertification credit. How do I turn submit the sessions that are eligible for credit? Do not enter Program ID into the recertification record. You will need to enter all eligible sessions individually. Enter the conference name and dates where prompted. List the session titles, dates, times and HRCI recertification credit awarded where prompted for the session title. Please refer to the example at the end of the FAQ. 8. I m submitting all sessions for general credit. When you enter the program I/D, the preapproved total will be 8.0 general recertification credits. You will have to enter all additional sessions attended. 2

Instead, enter the conference without the program id and only submit the number of hours of the pre-approved sessions you attended. If an attendee only needs general credit hours, please enter this program ID # XXXXX with the dates 8/25/08-8/27/08 for a pre-approved total of 8.0 general recertification hours. There may be the potential to earn up to 3.25 hours of credit, depending on the session(s) attended. To earn more credit than associated with the program ID, each session attended would need to be entered as a separate activity and must be a session that is being awarded credit.
