5 History of PMI Austin Charter established in : 38 charter members March, Dr. Calin Popescu submitted Letter of Intent May 18, 1992 Chapter Kickoff Meeting February, 2000 IRS recognized APMI as a 501(c)(6) Chapter celebrated 20th anniversary in 2013 Current membership is ~ 2,400 5

23 How Do I Obtain A Certification Step 1: Read the Certification Handbook and Review Eligibility Requirements Step 2: Review application form, gather application materials, and document your education and experience Step 3: Complete the application Step 4: Following Application approval submit your exam certification fee Step 5: If required, Provide Audit Documentation Step 6: Schedule, Take and Pass the Exam within 1 Year of Application Acceptance. Application must be approved before you are eligible to take an exam Schedule at Prometric testing centers 4 hours, 200 multiple-choice questions 26

25 What Happens Once I m Certified? Once you pass the exam, you are required to participate in the Continuing Certification Requirements (CCR) program (i.e. earn PDUs) Your certification/ccr cycle begins the day you pass the exam and ends on the same date three years later. If you do not earn PDUs, your credential will expire and you lose your PMP status.
