7 Networks Components Access Points (AP) WLAN Access Gateways (WAG) Authentication, Authorization and Accounting (AAA) Wireless Proxy/Gateway Billing VPN Gateway Access point is a bridge that moves packets from the wired infrastructure and transmits and receives them over the air using standards based on IEEE protocol WLAN Access Gateways prevents unauthorized usage of the WLAN infrastructure AAA server provides centralized authentication services, authorizes usage of specific services and provides accounting records related to service usage Proxy/gateways prevents unauthorized usage of the mobile wireless data infrastructure. Provides filtering and translation of content and protocol based on device capabilities. Tracks usage of services generates billing Terminates VPN tunnel in side a secured network.
