1 What s inside the box Xfinity Internet / Voice GSG Coax Xfinity envelope containing: Comcast Customer Privacy Notice and Agreement for Residential Services Getting Started Guide Coax cable Splitter If connecting multiple devices to one cable wall outlet, you will need to use a splitter Power cord Important information The billing for your new Xfinity service(s) will begin within 5 days from the date your order for service(s) is placed. Prior to activation of your new Xfinity service(s), please read the Comcast Residential Customer Agreement and the Comcast Customer Privacy Notice provided in the enclosed Xfinity documentation envelope. If you do not accept the terms of the above agreement and notice or want to cancel your Xfinity service(s), please contact Comcast within 30 days of your receipt of this self-installation kit at XFINITY to arrange for the return of this self-installation kit.

2 Ready to activate? Start here. Step 1 Connect cables and power up A B C In order to activate your device, you will need the mobile phone number associated with your account, your Comcast account number, or your Xfinity username and password. If you are replacing an existing Internet device please disconnect your old device before proceeding, and connect your new device using the same cable outlet. For new service activation, place your Internet device near a cable wall outlet, in a central location. If connecting multiple devices to one cable wall outlet, you will need to use a splitter. D Connect the coax cable to the Cable In/RF In port on your Internet device and to the cable wall outlet (or one of the ports on a splitter). Push the connector on to the port, then turn to engage the threads, and finally finger tighten the connector.* Coax * Comcast has recently introduced a new coax connector that reduces noise on the network and improves signal quality.

3 E Plug the power cord into the back of your device and then into an electrical outlet. If your device doesn t turn on, make sure your electrical outlet works. Also, check if your electrical outlet is controlled by a wall switch. Power F Refer to your manufacturer s documentation for specific activation instructions, as well as lighting, timing and rebooting sequences. Power US/DS Power US/DS Online Online 2.4 GHz 2.4 GHz 5 GHz 5 GHz Flashing = Wait Steady = Ready Device styles may vary For Xfinity Voice customers If you have Xfinity Voice service, connect your telephone to the Tel 1 connection on your device using a telephone cord (not included). If you ordered a battery with your service, please use the instructions packaged with the battery to install it.

4 Step 2 Connect to the Internet Connect with WiFi If your Internet device is WiFi capable, and you have a smartphone, tablet, or laptop, refer to your manufacturer s documentation for instructions on connecting to WiFi. Connect with Ethernet cable If you do not have a WiFi-capable device, or if you prefer an Ethernet connection, follow the steps below to connect to the Internet with an Ethernet cable. A Plug the Ethernet cable into one of the open Ethernet ports on your device until it clicks. Plug the other end into the Ethernet port in your computer. B If this worked, the LEDs next to the Ethernet ports on your device will light up. Go to Step 3.

5 Step 3 Activate your service A Once connected to the network, if you re not automatically presented with a welcome message to begin setup, open a web browser and go to xfinity.com/activate. B Follow the on-screen prompts to verify your account and activate your service. C Wait while your device completes activation. It may reboot during this process. Refer to your manufacturer s documentation for specific device details to confirm activation. D You should then be connected to your new home network and have access to Xfinity Internet. To give your WiFi network a name and password you ll easily remember, please refer to your manufacturer s documentation. Enjoy your Xfinity service! Xfinity Home Customers After your device is up and running, confirm that your Xfinity Home service is working by completing a Connectivity Test. Just go to your Xfinity Home Touchscreen and select Settings > Advanced Settings > Connectivity. If the Broadband Connectivity test fails, please re-boot and run the test again. To re boot go to Settings > Advanced Settings > Reboot Touchscreen.
