3 PoE: Introduction Power over Ethernet (PoE) is a widely adopted technology used to transfer both data and electrical power over an RJ-45 cable Safely powers devices of up to 13W (IEEE 802.3af) New on-going standardization process for powering devices of up to 60W (IEEE 802.3at), called PoE+

8 Detection, classification, power application and removal During detection phase, the Powered Device must present a resistance between 23.75k Ω and 26.25kΩ. PM8800 integrates a 24.5k Ω signature resistor to simplify the design of PoEPD appliances and to reduce the overall component count.
