4 INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS Section 1: Safety This information defines the safety and information icons used in this publication. Caution This icon is used for conditions that could cause injury to a person, or damage to the equipment or software data. ESD Possible damage from electrostatic discharge. This icon is used for conditions that could cause damage to the equipment. Electrostatic discharge (ESD) is a primary source of: equipment failure equipment repairs A person cannot detect an electrical charge of less than 3,500 V, but 30 V can cause damage to components in the equipment. Preventive Measures Check for an ESD WARNING LABEL before doing any procedure with ESD-sensitive components. All sensitive components have graphic LABELS that frequently include instructions. Use all label instructions. Wear a GROUNDING STRAP when you touch ESD-sensitive components. Check that the CLIP remains fastened to a ground that has a clean surface with no paint. Repair components in an ESD-protection area or use a PORTABLE GROUNDING MAT. When moving ESD-sensitive components from area to area, insert and transport the components in the special material made for the transport of these components. [2] Rotate the STABILIZER FOOT out. [3] Lower the STABILIZER FOOT so that it is level with the floor. [4] Tighten the KNOB. [5] Do Step 1 - Step 4 with the left side STABILIZER FOOT. (b) Use the 2 pins to position the FOUR TRAY SORTER. (c) Install the 2 THUMBSCREWS. [6] Connect to the PRINT SCANNER: USB CABLE POWER CORD from the POWER SUPPLY [7] Route the USB CABLE up through the hole in the back of the CABINET and to the PROCESSOR. [3] Connect the POWER CORD to the POWER DISTRIBUTION BOX. [4] Route the POWER CORD from the POWER SUPPLY up through the hole in the CABINET. [5] Connect to the FILM SCANNER: USB CABLE POWER CORD [6] Route the USB CABLE down through the hole in the CABINET and to the PROCESSOR. [2] Connect the USB CABLE. [3] Install the CDs. [4] Move the POWER SWITCH to the ON ( ) position. [5] Install the Kodak PICTURE CDs. [2] Check that the PRINTER LOCATOR is in the correct position. [8] Install the 7000 PHOTO PRINTER with the lower serial number onto the top shelf of the MAIN CABINET. [1] Unpack the PRINTER. [2] Install the PRINTER on the bottom shelf of the ACCESSORY CABINET. Check that the rear FEET align in the holes. [3] Connect to the back of the PRINTER: USB CABLE POWER CORD [4] Move the power switch for the PRINTER to the ON ( ) position. [5] Carefully move the shelf in and out and check that the cables move freely. [6] Route the USB CABLE to the PROCESSOR. [7] See Connections on Page 35 and connect the USB CABLE to the PROCESSOR.
