2 Page 1/7 1. Important notes Please read this operating manual carefully before installation and start-up of the temperature measuring device. This operating manual must be kept at an accessible location for further use. The device may only be installed, used and serviced by persons who are familiar with this operating manual as well as with the applicable regulations on occupational safety and accident prevention. Please make sure only qualified personnel perform the installation. Package contents The delivery contents of the temperature head transmitter are as follows: Temperature head transmitter Operating manual(cd) USB Drive and Software(CD) 2. Installation Installation conditions o Ambient temperatures between -40 and 85 C. Installation area: field housing TAF10; connection head Form B. Installation angle: no limit. Installation of head transmitter into a Form B Sensor connection head. Cover Installation screws and springs Sensor inset with connection cables Head transmitter Type with mA output Type with V output Note: 1. Mount the device in the currentless condition! 2. Monitor all connections making sure they are tight. 3. In order to guarantee fault-free operation, the terminal screws must be screwed tightly onto to the connection cables. Operating It offers three possibilities to calibrate the transmitter. 1) Using USB Buttons on the housing Take the calibration from C to C for example, you can calibrate the of Zero and Span as follows: 1. Please connect the power supply and resistor box with the MST10R. 2. Set the resistance value of resistance box to 100 Ohm (corresponding to 0 C), then press the "Z" key for 3 seconds 3. Set the resistance value of resistance box to Ohm (corresponding to 200 C), then press the "S" button for 3 seconds. The new range has been calibrated to C. The corresponding resistance value, please see the Supplementary Documentation. PC programming 1) Drive of Modems Installation Normally, the USB drive is installed automatically in Windows 7, Windows XP System. if the automatic intallation doesn't run, please follow these steps to install the drive on your computer: a). Connect interface to an available USB port. b). Windows will open a "Found New Hardware Wizard" window. Press next to continue. c). Select "Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)" and press Next. d). Select "Include this location in the search". e). Press Browse to locate the "USB-232" directory. Once this directory is selected press OK. f).verify that correct path and filename are shown and press Next. g). Press Finish. h). Windows will open a second "Found New Hardware Wizard" window. I). Repeat steps 4 through 8, then you will finish the USB communicator installation 2) Software Installation The Muesen PC software has been directly exported to EXE file. Please insert the CD in the CD-ROM drive and copy all files from the package "HTTempE_V2.02" and open the file "HTTempE_V2.02.exe. Note: When you configure parameters of the transmitter with the HART modem, to the following, setting the COM ports * should be done on your PC. * - For using the USB modem, you needn't set the COM ports. Setting the COM Ports on the PC (just for HART Modem): -Click Start-Settings -Control Panel -System-Hardware -Device Manager -Ports (COM&LPT) -Communication Port (COMs) -Port Settings-Advanced then cancel Use FIFO buffer. -Now restart the PC.

6 Page 5/7 3) Settings of PC-Software Before you do the calibration of the transmitter, please select the right communications port at first. Connect the USB Modem or HART Modem with the PC and then select the communications port as following picture. As soon as the Modem was connected to the computer, you will find a USB Serial Ports (COMx) in Device manager. x is a number. Then select COMx as communications port. 4) Parameter Setup The following parameters are adjustable on your request. After input of all parameters, please click on update. A. Work mode You can choose, only one one sensor working or both sensor working. If (Double Sensor) is choosen, the following parameter can be setup: Backup Average Difference Independent. For MST1er Serie please select Single Sensor B. Sensor Setup Select sensor type and the Wiring. MST10R: 3-wire Pt100 C. Output Setup You can select the output from sensor 1 or sensor 2. (Not available for MST1er Serie)

7 Page 6/7 5) Calibrate This item is suitable for the local field. Step1: Input lower the range value(4ma) Step2: Click (Calibration to 4mA) Step3: Input upper range value (20mA) Step3: Click (Calibration to 20mA) 6) Picture Monitor The actual measured data can be displayed in real time. You can monitor the process variable,current, and % range as a graph at the same time. You also can choose freely to monitor oneof them via Menu Icon Bar. Additionally, you can save the monitor data to computer and view history data. Note: The monitor period can be selected from 2sec. to 30 minutes.

8 Page 7/7 7) Others Language Translation: This is a very useful tool for you if your native language is not English. Step 1: Open the file (English.ini), then save as the new language file. Step 2: Translate the reference language into your own language Step 3: Click (Save) button, and close the file. Step 4: Then you go to the Main Menu Bar, click (Environment), choose your own language.
