Moreover, the card is able to send out internal test programs. The LUXline driver card fits a DIN rail housing with dimensions of 110 x 170 x 70mm. There are three rotary switches in the lower right corner to set up the start address. And in the middle of the card there are two additional rotary switches to determine the number of pixels per output. There are also four jumpers for special settings. Luxline driver - page 2

4 Placement The module consists of a printed circuit board mounted in a DIN rail housing. This way it can easily be integrated into a standard power distribution board, no special tools are required. The units measurements are 110mm by 170mm and a height of approximately 70mm. This supply voltage is connected to the red and black WAGO cage clamp. The left supply voltage is for output 1 and 2. The right supply voltage is for output 3 and 4. (See figure page 3). 5 Number of pixels The number of pixels per output for can be set from 1 until 99 by using the two rotary switches in the middle of the board. Each pixel needs three DMX data values. First all the pixels of the first LUXline output get their value, then those of the second LUXline output and subsequently the third and the fourth output. When the data of channel 512 is sent, no more data is sent to the remaining pixels. If the number of pixels is set to 00, the incoming DMX data (after the start address) will be sent simultaneously to all four LUXline outputs. DMX start address The DMX start address can be set to the value 1 to 512 by using the three rotary switches at the lower right corner of the board. When the address is set to the value 000, the address will internally be processed as 001. Some values have a special function for testing purposes: 600 : all off 601 : red on 602 : red and green on 603 : green on 604 : green and blue on 605 : blue on 606 : blue and red on 607 : red, green and blue 100% on 608 : red and blue 70% on and green 100% on (white ratio) 609 : red, green and blue 70% on 7xx : dynamic program Setting the first rotary switch to 7 activates the internal dynamic programs. The second rotary switch defines the speed, 1 being slow and 9 being fast. The last rotary switch determines the program. At the moment only 1, 2 and 3 are active. An important simplification in the software has the disadvantage that the first pixel is not used during the internal chase effect. 6 Points of attention It is important that the LUXline ledstrips never gets a DMX signal from a device other than the LUXline driver. If the LUXline driver is not used, timing problems can arise after a few strips. Moreover, current loops can be formed, damaging the components. The LUXline driver has two inputs for supply. For the control electronics it is not important which supply is used. For the LUXline ledstrips on the other hand, the left supply is for the 2 left outputs and the right supply is for the 2 right outputs. All minus connections are linked to each other on the PCB. If the LUXline ledstrip is connected to an external power supply (a supply that is not connected to the LUXline driver card), the minus connections of the supplies MUST be connected as this conductor is also the ground reference for the DMX signal. The minuses of the different LUXline drivers does not have to be connected to each other. If a LUXline PCB does not get any data for one of the pixels, it will turn off all the outputs. LUXline ledstrip There is a range of LUXline ledstrips that can be attached to the LUXline driver. All of these ledstrips have a datasheet with more information. 7 Restrictions The LUXline driver is very flexible, but it also has its limitations. When designing a system, keep the maximum values in mind. Those values should not be exceeded in any circumstances.
