New features in software release R2.3 New features in software release R2.3 The features "Call filter / Do-not-disturb and "Call list extension described below were developed for the Comfort, Classic and Compact telephone. Call filter / Do-not-disturb service The call filter is a list of internal or external call numbers from the phone book which are signalled on the subscriber telephone in spite of the fact that the Do-not-disturb feature has been activated. The call filter list is opened via the menu on system terminals and can contain up to 10 call numbers. The 'Do not disturb' feature applies to both internal and external calls. The "Call filter" feature is activated by pressing the menu key and selecting the options "Settings" - > "Applications" > "Call filter" in the menu John Doe Di :23 Applications General call Hunt group VIP-Call Headset Int. call list Call list delete after Call display Serial call Call filter (on) (on) (off) (on) (on) (off) (off) (off) L01 L02 L03 L04 L05 Part1 Part2 Part3 Part4 Part5 93

New features in software release R2.3 Upon selecting the "Call filter" option, the call numbers which are signalled in spite of the 'Donot-disturb' feature will be displayed. If there is no entry in the list, the only available option is "Add entry". This option is not displayed if the list already contains 10 call numbers John Doe Di :23 Call filter Add entries L01 L02 L03 L04 L05 Part1 Part2 Part3 Part4 Part5 On selecting the "Add entry" option, the call numbers which can be added to the call filter list will be displayed. Both the individual and the general code dial destinations are displayed. The call number is included in the call filter list by pressing Enter. 94

This option enables the deletion of the entire call filter list. The selected entry is deleted by pressing the Clear key. 95

New features in software release R John Doe Di :23 Call filter Add entries Arnold Delete all entries L01 L02 L03 L04 L05 Part1 Part2 Part3 Part4 Part5 Note: You can also use the call filter to prevent selected call numbers from being diverted. If you set both "Call divert immediate" and "Do not disturb", only your phone rings when calls are received from callers on the call filter list. All other calls will be diverted directly. Configuration The call filter can be configured using ISA online or offline and via the system terminal in the way described above. 96

New features in software release R2.3 Call list extension The criteria for an entry in the call list are harmonised for different call diversion variants. This applies to both internal and external calls. If a call diversion is active, you can choose whether the call is entered in the call list: - of the call diversion destination - of the subscriber originally called - or of both The setting options for "Call list diversion" are contained in the "Applications" menu. "Menu" --> "Settings" --> "Applications -> Call list" 97

New features in software release R2.3 Subscribers can choose between 3 options with the OK key: - A -> The entry is made on the telephone of the subscriber originally called - B -> The entry is made in the destination of the call diversion - A+B -> The entry is made on the telephone of the subscriber originally called and on the active call diversion destination Configuration The feature can be configured separately for each subscriber both on the terminal via the menu as well as with ISA in the online or offline mode. 98

Links Links Links are hardware modules which expand the functionality of T3 terminals. The links are inserted into slots 1 or 2 on the base of the T3 terminals. Links Link Short description CTI Link with V.24 interface for connecting a PC for TAPI applications (e.g. Avaya Com4Tel or other CTI applications) Link with V.24 interface for connecting a PC for TAPI applications (e.g. CTI/Audio Avaya Com4Tel or other CTI applications) and an interface (AEI X/Y) for connecting a DSS module, a headset, an ext. handsfree device, a second handset or a logger DSS Link with AEI-Y interface for connecting a DSS module and an interface for connecting an ext. loudspeaker Service Link with a V.24 interface for service and repair work Analog Link for connecting an analog phone to the T3 terminal S0 Link for connecting one or more S0 phones to the T3 terminal Headset Link for connecting a headset (HSG ) 99

Links Installing links Installing links Turn T3 phone over. On the underside of the phone, you will find one or two slots into 1 which the link can be inserted. Always start with slot 1 when greater functionality is required Unplug the ISDN connecting cord along with all external power supply units (so that the 2 phone is no longer live). 3 Pull the protective cover on the link socket upwards. Insert the tabs of the link (at the tip of the wedge-shaped piece) into the openings provided on the bottom of the set (a). 4 5 Press the link carefully downwards into the slot (b). Slot 2 Slot 1 Slot 2 Slot 1 Slot 1 T3-Comfort Bottom T3-Classic Bottom T3-Compact Bottom 6 Then connect the phone again using the ISDN connecting cord and restart it. After the automatic test routine has come to an end, the set will be ready for operation 7 and will recognise the inserted link. 8 Next, program the link. Unplugging links and plugging them in Unplugging links and plugging them in If the same link is unplugged and then plugged in again, it will be ready for operation again without code programming. If a different link is plugged in, the code programming must be checked. If a link, e.g. CTI link, is replaced for a short time by a Service link (for maintenance work), the CTI link's settings will be retained after it is replaced. Connecting links/accessories when using additional power supply (also applies to reset) When a link is plugged in, the telephone must be completely free of electrical current. 1. Pull out all connected cords (power supply unit, ISDN connecting cord). 2. Plug in the link and any additional devices (e.g. DSS module). 3. Plug in power supply units. 4. Plug the connecting cord into the T3 telephone. Note: You can reset your T3 telephone in the same way (links/additional devices do not have to be plugged back in). 100

TCM download terminals (Classic, Comfort only) TCM download terminals (Classic, Comfort only) The download is carried out using the "TCM Terminal Configuration Manager" tool. Only the basics are addressed in the following. Please refer to the TCM documentation for more detailed information. Setting up power feed to the phones There are two options for loading new software onto T3 Comfort and Classic phones: Variant 1 The phone is supplied with power from the PABX. Variant 2 The phone is supplied with power via a supplementary power supply unit. Variant 1 The phone is supplied with power from the PABX. Download terminal TCM D-Sub T3 Comfort Classic CTI link CTI/Audio link Service link PABX in operation V.24 V.24 V.24 WE WE WE The T3 Comfort/T3 Classic is connected to the system and is being operated with the CTI link, the CTI/Audio link or the service link. In this case, the phone is supplied with power from the PABX system. The PC on which the TCM application is installed is connected to the corresponding "V.24" link. "Download terminal" can now be started via the TCM tool. The TCM unit may only be plugged into the V.24 sockets on the "CTI", "CTI/Audio" and "service" links. To continue, see "Installing TCM" 141

TCM download terminals (Classic, Comfort only) Variant 2 The phone is supplied with power via a supplementary power supply unit Download terminal TCM D-Sub T3 Comfort Classic CTI link CTI/Audio link Service link V.24 V.24 V.24 WE WE WE UAE/IAE +40V GND GND +40V Additional power supply unit General information on activating the supplementary power supply unit: The set is supplied with power from a supplementary power supply unit. The supplementary power supply unit must supply GND and +40V. The phone is plugged into an S0 bus socket. Both lines on the supplementary power supply unit are screwed onto either terminal 7 or terminal 8 on the connection socket ( 7 = GND, 8 = +40V) or are connected to the socket via a Western plug ( 7 = GND, 8 = +40V). Procedure to follow so that the download works (so-called "clamp grip"): The PC on which the TCM tool is installed is connected to the corresponding "V.24" link. Connect the phone to the S0 socket. Hold down the upper right function key and then connect the supplementary power supply unit via the S0 socket. Only now is the phone ready for downloading. Indicated on the phone display: Installation Test U (corresponds to the version number) "Download terminal" can now be started via the TCM tool. The TCM unit may only be plugged into the V.24 sockets on the "CTI", "CTI/Audio" and "service" links. The "clamp grip" is also possible when the download proceeds via variant 1 phone is supplied with power from the PABX system. Supplementary power supply unit: the "power supply unit kit" must be fitted with an 8-pin connecting cord, under reference number Variable 2 (Y-protocol, slot 1) or variable 5 (Y-protocol, slot 2) must be enabled in AEI mode (Code 07) for the relevant slot which is to be used for the download. Otherwise the download will not work! 142

TCM download terminals (Classic, Comfort only) Installing TCM The installation begins with the usual three steps for Windows : You click the file Setup.exe and select the language in which you want to be guided through the installation process. You select the place in the file structure where TCM is to be installed. The default setting is the following folder on drive X, where the operating system is located: X:\Programs\Tenovis\TCM\ You define program activation, usually Start > Programs > TCM > TCM You specify which interface is to be used, COM1 to COM4, to connect your telephone to the PC. (*) You are asked whether your old version is older than version (*) You decide whether the existing user database is to be retained. If you say no, the default service user will subsequently be the only authorised user. The PC should then be restarted to prevent problems (no longer necessary with Windows 2000 and higher). Comments (*) Neither of these queries appear the first time TCM is installed. TCM can also be installed remotely in Silent mode. For more information, please consult your system administrator. After a new installation, the interface must first be set correctly for TCM in the menu Functions > Interface... Interface In the menu Functions > Interface..., you define the connection of TCM in two steps: In the selection list, you decide on the protocol for connecting the TCM to the SPI. The first value applies to all telephones of the T1 and T3 families; the second to all telephones of the T3-IP family. In the selection list, you decide on the protocol for connecting the TCM to the SPI. The first value applies to all telephones of the T1 and T3 families; the second to all telephones of the T3 IP family. Either Integral T3 telephone V24 (also applies to T1 family) or T3 IP terminals. In the additional settings screen, select the interface: For V.24, select COM1 or COM2 For T3, activate T3, then baud will apply; For T3, activate T3, then 1200 baud will apply; For IP, enter the IP address of the telephone. The remaining parameters in this screen are not relevant for TCM. The settings will take effect after you restart TCM. 143

TCM download terminals (Classic, Comfort only) Activating TCM When the program is started, you will be asked for your user name and your password. You can also change your user profile on this screen: You can set a different language for your TCM user interface or change your password. The Edit button takes you to the screen for this. User name, e.g.: Superuser Password, e.g.: year2000 Language, e.g.: German Caution: This new setting is effective immediately! To continue working, you must therefore immediately overwrite the old password in the login screen with the new password. A service technician can set up other users; the screen required to do so is similar to the one shown. The New button takes you to it. 144

TCM download terminals (Classic, Comfort only) TCM main menu After your user name and password are checked, the main screen of the Terminal Configuration Manager will appear. The following picture shows it in reduced form, to indicate its structure, not its content. The individual functions of the TCM are selected via pull-down menus. There are buttons available for the most important ones. The main window is divided in two. The left column displays either your entries in the phone book or possible function keys, while the right side displays the current assignment of your keys or the set features. In short, you have two storage tanks on the left and the current settings of your telephone on the right. You can switch between the different views using the round multi-function button in the middle. The left and right quarters here refer to the storage items in the left column, and the upper and lower quarters refer to the current settings on the right side. The two quarters currently active are shaded blue. The two separating lines (vertical and horizontal) can be shifted using the left mouse button, and it is possible to shift them so far that only the current settings are shown. 145

TCM download terminals (Classic, Comfort only) Carrying out download Download menu Terminal download screen after Start telephone download ISDN telephones can be supplied with a new software release (update) via their local interface; this also applies to links plugged into T3 telephones. Download screen When the "Open File..." button is clicked, a search window appears for selecting the correct file name. The necessary details will then be set automatically: Software information: Software version, phone type and file name Interface settings: Port, baud rate, AEI mode - X or Y protocol Download screen Settings Transmission starts when the "Download" button is clicked. The status details inform you about the progress of the download. The phone must be idle during the software download. Baud rate: The baud rate can also be set to and for T3 terminals with a service module. To do so, the user must log in as "Superuser". Starting baud rate: The starting baud rate indicates the baud rate at which the connection will be established to the terminal at the start. After the connection is successfully established, TCM will automatically switch over to the value set under "Baud rate". The starting baud rate must only be set to "1200" if links are plugged into the T3 which correspond to the earliest prototype stage, otherwise the starting baud rate of can be selected for T1 and T baud is set as the default. Download has been activated Activate download Other settings for the file to be downloaded. File endings: T3 Comfort:.HX4 T3 Classic:.SX4 There is a "Local service" menu item in the menu structure. This menu item is relevant when working via links. Caution: If a download is performed on a T3 telephone with Stimulus software or no software the message "Download Demand" will appear on the the display for approx. 3 minutes (this is a prerequisite for an automatic download, the telephone is waiting for a message from the PBX). To cancel this waiting time press the upper right function key. 147
