2 Electrical Drive Technology Servo-Drive D1-N Open communication The new D1-N servo-drive supports the Ethernet-based field bus system EtherCAT. EtherCAT is an open technology standardized in international standards IEC and IEC 61784, and in ISO EtherCAT is very fast industrial Ethernet system also suitable for use in time-critical motion control applications. The D1-N supports the CoE (CANoverEtherCAT) protocol and can therefore be linked into any EtherCAT master control supporting this protocol. The D1-N also operates in accordance with the standardized CiA 402 drive profile and can therefore be easily integrated into the TwinCat control software from Beckhoff as an NC axis. Integrated safety Machine safety is increasingly the mechanical engineer s main focus. Machines can represent serious hazards to users, especially moving axes. Safe Torque Off For this reason, the STO (Safe-Torque-Off) safety function in the D1-N has been integrated directly into the device, in line with IEC (certified by TÜV Nord). In the event of an error, the motor current and thus the torque on the motor can be safely shut down via the D1-N, without having Zeit to interrupt the supply voltage on the drive. Complex hardware for shutting off the supply voltage is no longer required, and reactivation is considerably quicker via a more elegant solution. Geschwindigkeit Open for linear, torque and servo motors The D1-N servo drive amplifier supports rotative servo motors, linear and torque motors, and thus the entire range of HIWIN motor types. The variety of supported encoder interfaces (digital, analog 1 Vpp, EnDat 2.2, HIWIN resolver) as well as both analog and digital hall sensors permit wide-ranging usage of the D1-N, especially also in the linear motor section when using various path feedback system. The wire strands for the I/O signals can be connected directly on the spring-clamp terminals. No time-consuming attachment, and rapid device replacement is ensured. Using an alphanumeric display and four control buttons, parameterization, manual control and error diagnostics can be carried out directly on the device. The Lightening PC software can be used to parameterize and commission the D1-N quickly and easily via a mini USB interface. 4
