4 1. Foreword In the past, it will take a lot of manpower resource and time to ship the product back to us when the firmware needs to be updated. Therefore, for the users using XEG-C1+, firmware version C or above, we provide an on-line update solution. By the latest solutions of USB burning technique, users can meet the requirements of updating XEG-C1+ firmware. 2. Safety and Notice The safety descriptions in the manual will allow the users to correctly update and use auxiliary software, avoiding injury and damage. Please carefully read the manual before operating, and strictly follow the related standards and steps to ensure your safety. 2

5 3. Description 3.1. 7 4. Operating Flow In order to let the users update the XEG-C1+ firmware version by themselves, this chapter will describe how to install the firmware update files, instruct PC Loader software interface and confirm the version of XEG-C1+. The detailed operations and flows are described as follows Hardware Configuration As described in 3.1, the pins A6, A7 and B7 on XEG-C1+ will be connected to 0V, 24V and 0V after the hardware configurations are correctly set. Pin Connection Please confirm the firmware (see 4.2) is C or above, and the indicator flashes in red to update and download the files after USB cable is connected. 5

8 4.2. Download Update and XEG-W1+ The zip files for firmware and the execution file for XEG-W1+ can be downloaded from the Technical Support on our website, as shown in the figure below. XEG-W1+ Page Download XEG-W1+ on the desk and open it, set COM Port, Model Type and click Connect, following to confirm the firmware version of XEG-C1+. Confirm the firmware version on the lower left corner Operations: For the detailed flow and connection of XEG-W1+, please refer to 5.2 Connection and Initialization in XEG-W1+ Manual on our website. Confirm the version of C or above, and continue the following flow to update on line. 6

9 4.3. Open PC Loader As shown in 4.2, download the zip file and unzip it on the desk (need to install in Disk C), where you can find an application and a HEX file. You can click PC loader to open and erase-program-verify. Click PC loader 7

10 4.4. Erase-Program-Verify Procedure Step 1: Select Com Port. Select Com Port Confirm COM Port number Operations: Please turn on the Administrator to set comport between COM1 and COM9. If not, you need to click Start > Computer > Right Key Management > Device Administrator > COM and LPT > USB Serial Port > Right Key Content > COM Port Setting, change and confirm COM Port. 8

12 Step 2: Select Connect Operations: Click the Connect button. 10

13 Step 3: Click Load Hex File and Select Load Hex File Operations: Select the latest hex file. You can perform the Step 4 after clicking Open. 11

14 Step 4: Click Erase-Program-Verify Operations: You just wait to complete after clicking Erase-Program-Verify. 12

15 Step 5: Confirm Programming Completed Operations: Programming completed and Verification successful will be displayed on the screen to indicate the firmware has been updated. 13

Reconfirm Firmware Version If the version is needed to be confirmed again, you click Disconnect and confirm Device disconnected, and then remove DC24V power supply, unplug and plug USB as well as wait the red indicator to stop flashing. Click Disconnect Display Device disconnected Operations: When PC Loader displays Device disconnected and red indicator shows no flash, you can open XEG-W1+ and repeat 4.2 to confirm the firmware version is successfully changed. 14
