Appendix to Technology Plan on SJVLS website, referenced in the RFP also list bandwidth as of the time the plan was written. Only changes are installation of T-1 to Alpaugh and DS3 between Fresno and Bakersfield current in progress. 2 5. Standard security policy - Internet use policies for public and staff are specific to each jurisdiction. Overall policies relating to network use are as listed below and are available at SJVLS Wide Area Network Support Policy Policy for Use of the SJVLS Network Privacy and Confidentiality of User Data Files SJVLS Best Practices for Network Users Policy on provision of public WiFi service at SJVLS branch libraries Requirements for Provision of Service to Joint-Use Libraries by the San Joaquin Valley Library System 6. Can Horizon server be distributed to lessen network traffic? No, database licensing costs would be prohibitive and at this point it is not designed to run as tiered architecture with the exception of the Information Portal (HIP). HIP's heaviest use is by outside users making it impractical to run it in multiple locations. 7. Will we consider using CalNet 2? Yes, our plan is to take the information provided by the consultant and issue an RFP during the Fall of 2007 in order to sign CalNet 2 ATOs that will be valid for E-rate application. SJVLS currenty uses Calnet 1 with a contract expiration of December If services are outsourced does location matter. At this time no, our geography is so spread out anyway.
