3 Contents Chapter 14.7 ISA - TCM I/O Board (5663) INTRODUCTION This chapter describes the ISA - TCM I/O Board as used in the 5663 Account Services Terminal. There are two versions of the TCM I/O Board for the 5663: a standard board and a reduced population board (without any miscellaneous interface or RS-232-C functions). The assembly drawing of the standard 5663 TCM I/O Board is shown below: MAY 1996

5 GENERAL DESCRIPTION ISA - TCM I/O BOARD (5663) The TCM I/O Board distributes signals to and from the Terminal Control Module (TCM) and provides connections for a number of miscellaneous devices. A voltage regulator circuit supplies -5 V to the TCM power connector, J1, for use by third party boards. A diode array prevents any excessive voltage spikes from being fed back from the monitor to the TCM. The block diagram below shows the interconnections on a standard TCM I/O Board. NOTE: The miscellaneous interface circuitry on the standard board is not used at present MAY 1996

7 TCM POWER CONNECTOR, J1 The TCM Power connector, J1, connects directly to the TCM Bus board and provides power to the TCM. It is a mixed female, 30-way plus two power inserts, DIN connector, with the two power inserts (+5 VOLTS and GROUND) occupying nine pin positions at either end of the connector. 8 INTEGRATED I/O CONNECTOR, J2 The Integrated I/O connector, J2, connects directly to the TCM Bus board and provides the main control and data link to the TCM. 9 POWER SUPPLY CONNECTOR, J3 The Power Supply connector, J3, connects to the harness assembly and provides power to J1. It is a 2 x 8 connector with the following pinout: GROUND 1 9 GROUND GROUND 2 10 GROUND GROUND VOLTS GROUND VOLTS POWER_GOO D VOLTS S5 VOLTS 6 14 S12 VOLTS S5 VOLTS 7 15 S5 VOLTS S5 VOLTS 8 16 S5 VOLTS LEAD THROUGH CONNECTOR, J4 The Lead Through connector, J4, connects to the Lead Through boards (Media Entry TCM via on-board logic; removing the need for a Lead Through Driver board. J4 is a 2 x 8 connector with the following pinout: L3A VOLTS L3B- 3 4 GROUND L4A VOLTS L4B- 7 8 GROUND N/C 9 10 N/C N/C N/C N/C N/C N/C N/C SDC BUS CONNECTOR, J5 The SDC Bus connector, J5, interfaces the SDC bus to the TCM, via connector J2. 10 CONTROL INTERFACE CONNECTOR, J6 The Control Interface connector, J6, interfaces the control signals (Supervisor, Comms LED, Ext Reset and Beeper) from the TCM to the harness assembly. J6 is a 2 x 4 connector with the following pinout: SUPERVISOR VOLTS COMMS_LED- 3 4 GROUND EXT_RESET- 5 6 GROUND BEEPERB 7 8 BEEPERA SERIAL PORT 1 AND 2 CONNECTORS, J8 AND J7 The Serial Port 1 and Serial Port 2 connectors (J8 and J7 respectively) provide two serial ports for RS-232-C data transmissions to and from the TCM. 11 VGA MONITOR CONNECTORS J11 AND J15 The VGA Monitor 1 and VGA Monitor 2 connectors (J11 and J15 respectively) allow a VGA monitor to be connected to either side of the board (for front and rear access versions of the terminal). NOTE: Only one monitor can be attached at any one time. J11 and J15 are right angled D-type connectors with the following pinout: REMOTE STATUS CONNECTOR, J13 The Remote Status connector, J13, connects to the Remote Status Indicator (RSI) and allows the TCM to control the RSI via on-board logic. J13 is a 2 x 4 connector with the following pinout: L0-1 2 GROUND L1-3 4 GROUND L2-5 6 FUSED +5V N/C 7 8 N/C MAY 1996

12 HIGH ORDER COMMS CONNECTOR, J14 The High Order Comms connector, J14, is a 2 x 13 vertical ejection connector with the following pinout: N/C 1 2 NEWSYNC TD- 3 4 TSET RD- 5 6 N/C RTS 7 8 RSET CTS 9 10 WCA DSR N/C GROUND DTR DCD N/C N/C CI N/C DSRS N/C EXTSET N/C WIN N/C N/C FACIA LIGHT CONNECTOR, J16 The Facia Light connector, J16, interfaces the TCM to the terminal lighting, allowing the TCM to switch the lighting on and off via circuitry on the TCM I/ O Board. J16 is a 2 x 2 connector with the following pinout: +24 VOLTS 1 3 SWITCHED GROUND +24 VOLTS 2 4 SWITCHED GROUND SERVICE AIDS FUSES Fuse FS1 (500 ma, 250 V, quick blow) provides overcurrent protection for the +5 V to the remote status indicator (standard board only). SCHEMATIC DIAGRAMS The schematic diagrams for the TCM I/O Board are given on fold-out pages FO-1 to FO-4. NOTE: The schematics show the tracking for a fully populated TCM I/O board.
