1 Specifications/Instructions Infilex FC Fan Coil Unit Controller for SC-bus Communication Overview Infilex FC Model WY5205W is a DDC controller for FCU. In addition to FCU ON/OFF operation, valve control, and fan speed changeover, Infilex FC provides advanced controls such as setback and interlock operations with OAHU. Infilex FC in combination with room user terminal(s) allows room occupants to operate FCU. Infilex FC also communicates to our BMS. This enables to centrally monitor and control the scheduled operation, operating status, and temperature measurement of FCU. BMS: Building management system DDC: Direct digital control FCU: Fan coil unit OAHU: Outdoor air handling unit Features Compact size: Small sized body fits inside an FCU. Two kinds of FCU control: Valve ON/OFF control and valve proportional control for FCU are available. Advanced controls in combination with our BMS: Infilex FC combined with our BMS allows FCU to interlock with OAHU and to control mixing loss between perimeter and interior zones. Standalone control: Infilex FC is not only connected to our BMS but also used as a standalone controller. Room user terminals: Our user terminal (Neopanel or Neoplate) is connectable to Infilex FC, allowing the room occupants to turn on/off FCU and change temperature setting. Easy installation: Screwless push-in terminals (for pipe temperature sensor input, DI, FCU ON/OFF output, and control valve output) and modular jacks (for communication, user terminal connection, and temperature sensor input) reduce wiring workload. CE Marking certified product: Infilex FC Models WY5205W100_ and WY5205W201_ conform to all the applicable standards of CE Marking Azbil Corporation All Rights Reserved.

12 Wiring diagram: Valve ON/OFF control type (Model WY5205W100X) IMPORTANT: Power for the valve actuators is supplied from FCU via Infilex FC. Since the actuator power supply cannot be separated from the FCU, the valves, unless the valve type is spring-return, will not be fully closed (in 0 % position) when the fan is turned off. (A valve in fully closed position is exceptional.) FCU FAN Ground resistance: 100 Ω or lower M M V AC COM 11 L M H For fan ON/OFF output, connect terminals 11 and 12 to FCU. Infilex FC cannot recognize the status change of a fan coil unit (FCU) if Neoplate switches the FCU from OFF to L or M or H (ON) mode. Therefore, Infilex FC will not detect chilled water/hot water using the temperature sensor for pipe surface. In a case that the detection of chilled water/hot water using the temperature sensor for pipe surface is required, select the Infilex FC valve proportional control type and change its function to the valve ON/OFF control by using the power supply status monitoring. Ask our salesperson for details. For the Infilex FC valve proportional control type serving the valve ON/OFF control, connect the valve 1 to the terminals 4 and 5 and the valve 2 to the terminals 7 and 8. 14 Recommended cables For the cables and wires recommended for wiring Infilex FC, refer to the Wire specifications section. Power supply wiring Crimp M3.5 terminals on the power supply wires and connect them to the screw terminals of the product. IMIPORTANT: Do not apply 98 Ncm or larger torque for connecting the screw terminals. Push-in terminal connection Wires of the temperature sensor for pipe surface (only for Infilex FC for standalone use), DI, FCU ON/OFF output, and control valve output are connected to the screwless push-in terminal block. Follow the procedure below for connecting these wires. 1) Remove the dust protective cover on the push-in terminals. 2) Strip the 5-6 mm insulation of the wire end. * Scale is indicated on the front surface of Infilex FC. If the insulation stripped part is longer or shorter than 5-6 mm, it may get exposed or may come off from the terminal. 3) Make sure that no wire fiber goes out of the wire end. 4) Connect the wire to the push-in terminal. 1. Press. 4. Pull out. 2. Tilt. Releasing the clamp: When pressing the screwdriver, tilt it along the curving surface inside the square hole. Figure 14. Connecting a wire to a screwless push-in terminal 3. Insert. 5) Gently pull out the wire to make sure it is completely held by the clamp. 1. Insert a slotted screwdriver into a smaller square hole (for clamp release) of a push-in terminal on Infilex FC front surface. At this time, insert the screwdriver to the deep end (approx. 10 mm deep). 2. Tilt the screwdriver while pushing it into the hole. (Make sure the direction to tilt, as shown in Fig. 14.) When the screwdriver is proceeded to the deep end, the clamp is completely released. The screwdriver remains in the inserted position even when you release your hand from the screwdriver. Notes: * A slotted screwdriver with the blade 3.5 mm wide and 0.5 mm thick (straight type) is acceptable. A screwdriver with the blade tip narrower than the shaft may not be acceptable. Appropriate screwdriver (an example): Model 9900 (3 mm wide x 100 mm long) or Model 910 (3 mm wide x 75 mm long) manufactured by Vessel Co., Inc. * Since the terminal block has the inclined surface, required clearance for maintenance varies depending on the length of the screwdriver to be used. Note that a long screwdriver (80 mm or longer) may not be usable for the Infilex FC replaced from IFC since IFC requires smaller maintenance clearance. 3. Insert the wire end (5-6 mm long stripped part) into a larger square hole to the deep end. 4. Pull out the screwdriver while keeping the wire end inserted. * For wiring of FCU ON/OFF output and control valve output, refer to the Wiring diagram sections. 6) Bind the cables with cable ties. Notes: * If an unbound cable is strongly pulled, Infilex FC may get damaged. * Be sure to bind the modular cables separately from power cables. Good cable binding Bad cable binding IMPORTANT: Do not position any connected cable on the Infilex FC front surface, as shown in Fig. 15. Figure 15. Good and bad cable binding. 14

15 Note for connecting wires with 1.8 mm or smaller outer diameter to the push-in terminals Wires with 1.8 mm or smaller outer diameter connected to the push-in terminals may cause short-circuit due to dust accumulated in clearance in the terminal. To prevent short-circuit, put a tube* through the wire so that the terminal is covered. (See Fig. 16.) Separately order the tubes if necessary. * Tubes are commercially available and also available at Azbil Corporation. Connection of 1.8 mm or thinner wires to the screwless push-in terminals with and without tubes Wiring of user terminal / Pt100 temperature sensor to Infilex FC User terminal and Pt100 temperature sensor are wired to Infilex FC with modular connection. For correctly crimping modular plugs on a LAN cable, refer to the following. Modular connector connection Modular connector is composed of a modular plug (male) and a modular jack (female). Modular jacks are provided on Infilex FC, and modular plugs will be crimped on LAN cables as required. Refer to the following procedure for crimping the modular plugs on the LAN cables and connecting them to the modular jacks. * For modular plugs, refer to Note *1 of the Wire specifications section. 1) Strip the outer sheath of a LAN cable end. Be sure not to scratch or peel off any wire insulation when stripping the sheath. LAN cable 8 wires Figure 17. Stripping the sheath Make sure there are eight wires inside the sheath. 2) Align the eight wires in the order specified by the LAN cable manufacturer. An alignment example of the LAN cable wires is shown in the table below. Pin numbers LAN cable Figure 18. Crimped modular plug is secured on the LAN cable by the cable stopper of the modular plug. Check the contacts and the cable stopper when crimping the modular plug. 5) Follow 1) to 4) for the other end of the LAN cable. 6) Check continuity of the LAN cable. At the same time, make sure that the wires are aligned in the specified order, the modular plug contacts stick into the wires, and that there is no cable damage or disconnection. * Modular cable tester (Part No. DY7206A0000) facilitates the continuity check. 7) Connect the modular plugs to the modular jacks. After successfully finishing the continuity check, insert a modular plug of the LAN cable into the modular jack of Infilex FC and the other modular plug into the modular jack provided for connecting to the user terminal / Pt100 temperature sensor. * Insert a modular plug until it clicks and gently pull the cable to check complete connection. 16

17 Wiring of Pt1000 temperature sensor to Infilex FC Pt1000 temperature sensor is also wired to Infilex FC with modular connection, and the short connector cable for two terminals Part No. DY7221A is required for wiring. Refer to the following for details. 1) Connect the modular plug of Part No. DY7221A to the connector CN2 of Infilex FC. Side A Side B CN2 Infilex FC Model WY5205WXXXK Short connector cable for two terminals Part No. DY7221AXXXX * "XXXX" differs depending on the cable length (0.1 m to 1.0 m). Figure 20. Connection of the connector cable for two terminals to Infilex FC See the following for the pin assignment of the connector cable for two terminals Part No. DY7221A (between sides A and B). 22 Item Function Description Remarks Digital inputs (available for valve proportional control type) Alarm input Accepts the DI (digital input) 1 value to the alarm point. The alarm point is NML (0) when the contact of DI 1 is open and is ALM (1) when the contact of DI 1 is closed. Status input Accepts the DI 2 value to the status point. The status point is OFF (0) when the contact of DI 2 is open and is ON (1) when the contact of DI 2 is closed. Interlock operation with DI (available for valve proportional control type) FCU interlocking with alarm input FCU interlocking with status input Turns off the FCU when the alarm input is ALM. FCU ON/OFF function using the user terminal can be disabled when the alarm input is ALM. Enables FCU ON/Setback ON function when the status input is OFF. FCU ON/OFF function using the user terminal can be disabled when the status input is OFF. (3/3) The Automatic ON/OFF for standalone use function cannot be set when the FCU interlocking with status input function is enabled. The Automatic ON/OFF for standalone use function cannot be set when the FCU interlocking with status input function is enabled. Notes: *1 These functions are enabled by Infilex FC being combined with Infilex ZM and other controllers integrated in our BMS. *2 The latest ON/OFF operation with an analog user terminal may not be effective. *3 The latest setting operation with an analog user terminal is not effective. *4 Dual setting is the method to have cooling setting and heating setting separately. *5 Any combination of the following valves can be used for the temperature control: Chilled/hot water valve, chilled water valve, hot water valve, chilled water valve + hot water valve, and chilled water valve + chilled/hot water valve. For the chilled water valve + chilled hot water valve combination, select the operating order of the valves by setting the parameter. Either of "chilled water valve chilled/hot water valve" or "chilled/hot water valve chilled water valve" is selectable. *6 Water-priority control is the control that opens the valves first and then increases the fan speed. This prevents excessive fan speed (airflow volume) and fan noise. airflow-priority control is the control that closes the valves as much as possible at the low fan speed and widely opens the valves after increasing the fan speed. This widens the temperature difference between the coil inlet and outlet, leading to the effective chiller plant control. *7 Control status is an index of FCU load. The index is used for supply air temperature control of OAHU or VWV/VWT control. *8 Room temperature for the group monitoring is either the average value in a group or the representative value of a group. 22

23 LED Indication After the power is applied to Infilex FC, check that the status indicator LED blinks in approx. 10 seconds. If it stays ON, Infilex FC is in an abnormal status. The LED is ON for several seconds immediately after the power is applied, but this does not indicate an error. LED indication is described on the front surface of Infilex FC. (See Figs. 33 and 34.) LED Address setting switches LED Valve ON/OFF control type Descriptions of LED indication Valve proportional control type Figure 33.
