3 INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS SUPPLY 230 or 115 or 24 Vac 50/60 Hz ±10% -4 VA, 24Vdc* o 12 Vdc* ±15% 4 W (see the instrument label). *Remark: the supply negative pole (terminal 1) is connected to circuit 0 Volt (terminal 8). TRANSDUCER SUPPLY 12 Vdc max 60 ma, 5Vdc 60 ma optional (code X09) FUNCTIONAL INPUTS: accepting signals by NPN/PNP transducers INPUTS: closing T.min = 20 ms OUTPUTS: Outputs are on relay with Normally Open contacts. I max 3A V max 220V COUNT FREQUENCY: 25 KHz (primary wave) MEMORY: Data, preselections and count record are stored on EEPROM. COUNT INPUT SIGNALS The instrument accepts count signals by: Monodirectional encoders with NPN open collector or push-pull output Bidirectional encoders with NPN open collector or push-pull output 1 Namur inductor with NPN open collector or push-pull output 2 Namur inductors with NPN open collector or push-pull output 90 degree out of phase CONNECTION Link connections to the quick-coupling terminal box as mentioned in the enclosed diagram C2614. REMARK To avoid damaging interference, it is recommended, as for all low voltage equipment, to use a shielded cable for the execution of connections and to separate the signal cable path of the counter from possible connection cables of power utilities. MAINTENANCE Counters do not require any particular maintenance. Keys shall not be pressed with sharp objects to avoid damaging of the keyboard. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS After choosing the basic configuration and the specific settings (see par. 1 and 2 of the present manual) you can enter the operating parameters, named constants. CONSTANTS SET The constants menu is accessed by pressing the key F and, when the display shows ch.set. the constants key P2 F P1. The different constants are displayed in sequence: use the arrow keys to modify the values and the key F to confirm your choice and switch to the following parameter. The key R sets the constant value to zero. Factor It is the multiplying factor of the input pulses and ranges between 0.01 and The display shows FAtt. followed by the current value. Use the arrow keys to modify the value (the key R sets to zero) and F to confirm. Load It is the value entered in the count record in case of reset by keyboard or by input. The display shows LoAd followed by the current value. Output 1 Time It is the time output 1 remains on, expressed in seconds. The minimum setting is 0.1 sec, the max. setting is 25.0 sec. (default 0.3 sec.). The parameter is only shown if the option time output 1 was enabled in the modes set. The display identification is tout 1. 3 /7
4 Output 2 Time It is the time output 2 remains on, expressed in seconds. The minimum setting is 0.1 sec, the max. setting is 25.0 sec. (default 0.3 sec.). The parameter is only shown if the option time output 2 was enabled in the modes set. The display identification is tout 2. s Number The parameter is only shown in case it was chosen the basic configuration counter and the option settable cycle was enabled in the modes set. The display identification is n.cicli. Deceleration The parameter is only shown in case it was chosen the basic configuration counter and the option deceleration was enabled in the modes set. The display identification is rall. OPERATING WAY BASIC CONFIGURATION 0: Up/Down Counter With Settable Preselections set: 1- Up-counter: Press -P1- to access the first preselection setting phase Press P2- to access the second preselection setting phase. A flashing dot appears on the display right side during the phase. Press -P1- to leave the first preselection setting phase. Press P2- to leave the second preselection setting phase. 2-Down-counter: Press P1 to access the LOAD value (measure) setting phase. Press P2 to access the DECELERATION setting phase. A flashing dot appears on the display right side during the phase. Press -P1- to leave the LOAD setting phase. Press P2- to leave the DECELERATION setting phase. REPEATED CYCLE 1-Up-Counter: At reaching of the second preselection the relay OUT2 gets excited for the set time and the count is reset at the same time. Since the count is reset in 0.5 ms it is advisable to adjust the machine speed so that the count frequency is equal or less than 1 KHz after the first preset reaching (deceleration) in order to avoid count errors. The count reset always takes place in correspondance with the second preselection: therefore if you use one single preselection it is necessary to use the second one. 2-Down-Counter: At reaching of the zero value the relay OUT 2 gets excited for the set time and at the same time the LOAD value is entered in the count record. The LOAD value is entered in 0.5 ms, therefore it is advisable to adjust the machine speed so that the count frequency is equal or less than 1 KHz after the first preset reaching (deceleration) in order to avoid count errors. LOAD BY KEYBOARD Pressing the key R the display shows the flashing message LOAD. Press the key R again to reset or enter the load value or the key F to switch to the count display with no modifications. INPUTS/OUTPUTS The instrument is equipped with two inputs, IN 1 = load/reset and IN2 = count block, and with two relay outputs with normally open contacts; in case of up-counter the contacts close at reaching of the relevant preselections; in case of down-counter they close at reaching of the deceleration value (OUT 1) and zero (OUT 2). 4 /7
5 BASIC CONFIGURATION 1: Partial/Total Counter With Settable Preselections set: Preselection Mode 2 Partial counter: Press -P1- to access the first preselection setting phase Press P2- to access the second preselection setting phase. A flashing dot appears on the display right side during the phase. Press -P1- to leave the first preselection setting phase. Press P2- to leave the second preselection setting phase. Preselection Mode: 1 DECELERATION + 1 PRESET ON PARTIAL COUNT P1 is the deceleration value, P2 is the preselection value. Operation example: -P1(deceleration) = 10 P2(preselection) = 100 The relay OUT 1 gets excited at 90 (preselection deceleration) and relay OUT 2 gets excited at 100 (preselection). Preselection Mode: 1 preselection on partial count + 1 PRESET ON total count -P1- is the preset on partial count, -P2- is the preset on total count. REPEATED CYCLE WITH PRESELECTIONS ON THE PARTIAL COUNT ONLY At reaching of the second preselection the relay OUT2 gets excited for the set time and the count is reset at the same time. The count reset always takes place in correspondance with the second preselection: therefore if you use one single preselection it is necessary to use the second one. REPEATED CYCLE WITH ONE PRESELECTION ON PARTIAL COUNTER AND ONE PRESELECTION ON TOTAL COUNTER Operating cycle: Timed OUT 2 Steady OUT 1 Partial count: At reaching of preselection P1 the relay OUT2 gets excited for the set time and the partial count is reset at the same time Total count: At reaching of the second preselection P2 the relay OUT1 gets excited and it remain excited until the total counter is reset. REPEATED OPERATING CYCLE WITH TIME OUTPUTS REPEATING OPERATING CYCLE TIME OUTPUTS Partial count: At reaching of preselection P1 the relay OUT1 gets excited for the set time and the partial count is reset at the same time Total count: At reaching of the second preselection P2 the relay OUT2 gets excited and the total count is reset at the same time. REMARK FOR THE REPEATED CYCLE: The count is reset in 0.5 ms, therefore it is advisable to adjust the machine speed so that the count frequency is equal or less than 1 KHz after the first preset reaching (deceleration) in order to avoid count errors. CHOICE OF THE DISPLAY MODE To switch from tne PARTIAL COUNT display to the TOTAL COUNT display press the key R or agendo on input IN2. During the total count display a dot lights on the first display on the left. INPUTS/OUTPUTS The inputs IN1 IN2 IN3 are enabled by the input signal edge.
