Overview Summary G Grid Solutions releases Firmware version 2.31 for the 3 Series product platform for protection relays 339, 345, and 350. 2 Multilin 3 Series - FW 2.31 Release otes Upgrading from a previous version of the 3 Series firmware to the new 2.31 firmware can be done via the nervista Setup application. Please contact your local G sales representative or Customer Service Department (CST) for any questions regarding this upgrade. Release details In the following release descriptions, a revision category letter is placed to the left of the description. Refer to the Appendix at the end of this document for a description of the categories displayed. Multilin 3 Series Firmware Version 2.31 Platform Level Chassis and Base Relay A chassis without the relay, and drawout relay without the chassis, are now available. These can be used as spare parts, replacement units, or for testing purposes. ote that the chassis and relay order codes must match exactly. (A drawout relay cannot be used in a chassis with different order code options.) LD monitoring function improvement Optional programmable LDs are now available on all non-drawout products. A new latching setting is introduced for LDs. Phase-Segregated lements Phase-segregated elements are now available as single-phase parameters in Logic lements for various applications nhancement Analog values (including KWH, KVARH and thermal capacity) are mapped in the signal list. Maximum and minimum frequency values have been modified to 80Hz and 30Hz respectively. ew optional connectors Customers can order straight connectors (instead of right angle connectors) as an accessory for non-drawout models. P Software nhancements ASII numbers are included in the Protection Summary. A Quick avigation dialog is added in the Logic lements screen to select Trigger Sources and Block operands. Phase IOC and Phase OV elements delay timer fix In version 2.30 a separate timer was implemented for each Phase. This timer was not acting as expected if any other phase IOC or OV had tripped previously. (This change only affects version 2.30.) Reset trip condition via RST key without password Trip condition can be Reset by pressing the RST key without entering a password. 2 G Grid Solutions

Improved 61850: o ICD configuration file o Thermal overload including phases o VLA-ID changed to Hexadecimal o Simplified GOOS for order codes with digits 3, 4 or 5 when default CID is created Improved thermal overload hysteresis. Improved hysteresis in Directional power element at minimum value. 350 Arc Flash Protection Arc Flash protection now supports both loop and point sensors, and is available on non-drawout units. This option provides four sensor inputs and two Solid State Relay (SSR) inputs, along with two form A and three form C output contacts. Light sensor operators are available in Logic lements to build appropriate logic based on the application. Sensor length is customizable. Volts/Hz (ASI 24) Volts/Hz protection function added to OTHR PROTCTIO in option V, which is available for non-drawout models. Link Loss Alert (LLA) LLA is a new redundancy mode now available for 350 relays with redundant communications ports. Ports A and B use port A s MAC and IP address settings while port B is in standby mode and does not actively communicate, but monitors the link. With LLA enabled, port A has priority. If port A s LLA detects a problem with the link, communication is automatically switched to Port B, which acts as a redundant or backup link to the network for port A. 345 Fixed minor issues when sending Clear nergy command via HMI. Added Vaux values in event recorder and improve Breaker Health, Phase OC, Phase UV and Autoreclose events. Improved the way Wattmetric Ground Fault parameters are calculated. 2nd Harmonic Inhibit and Blocking Improvement 2nd Harmonic Blocking supports the 1-out-of-3 function to enhance the device performance in the case of external faults. RMIO Support The 345 non-drawout unit supports an RMIO (Remote Input Output) module for temperature monitoring using up to 12 RTD inputs. CLAR LARD DATA The 345 supports clear data record functionality, resetting all values to the default values. Improve phase reversal element using two decimals. Improve the way Lockout LD status is set when the TCU Drops below 15%. Improve the way the output relays are set to default when the unit is changed from breaker to contactor. Add Demand Analog values to DP via thernet. vent recorder: o Remove unknown events o Add Motor STOR, STARTIG and RUIG events. Reset lockout by Reset nable setting is saved after power cycle. Add VT failure element in other protection M digit. Thermal start inhibit changed to 15%, to avoid start working at the fifth start.
