3 Our Research Interest Multi-disciplinary research around emerging domains such as Energy Human-centric approaches for improving Energy Efficiency in Buildings Novel human presence and movement toolkits to support EE solutions Data and visual analytics for advanced Building Performance Analysis Support for hypothesis testing (targeting early design & planning phases but applicable to operational phases of Buildings Lifecycle) Building Simulation engine that takes into account skeleton (enterprise-related) activities performed in spaces for analyzing building energy performance Intelligent Building Automation Mechanisms Key enabling technologies employing energy forecasting & prediction algorithms Multi-factor DSS taking into account occupant comfort, enterprise performance and energy consumption/generation for building operational efficiency Real-time facility flexibility estimation for enabling new business models with ESCOs & Utilities (e.g. demand response strategies).
4 Our Project Idea Multiply4EE Relevant Call: EE Project Title: MULTIPLY4EE Objectives: To introduce a digital platform (e-multiply) that will act as a key accelerator for effectively analyzing, planning, monitoring and assessing EE interventions across the value chain (facility managers & owner, construction companies, operators, utilities). To deliver a set of key performance indicators encompassing financial, energy efficiency and other critical factors affecting the investment from the early design to the operational & decommissioning phases. To provide an advanced decision making toolkit that encapsulates mechanisms for both accelerating auditing capabilities and planning of EE solutions tailored to their actual needs & preferences. To benchmark the new services provided by e-multiply framework to at least three emerging domains such as sport/leisure centers, hotels & construction companies.
