3 Planning is paramount Limited Helicopter range demands fuel deposits for operations +30 min outside populated areas (marked in blue). Fuel can only be placed by the helicopter itself, by bush planes on prepared gravel strips, or by ship. With ship operations limited to 2-3 months window each summer.
